As much as most Serbs would like to use the Eurodollar as their currency, they can't.

However,I am waiting for Ari Gold, MikeC and sj to defend Soskic and the weak Dinar.

This should be hilarious!

Maybe it would have been smarter for Serbia do do it like Bosnia or Montenegro: Having a currency with a fixed exchange rate to the Euro, or using the Euro directly? In everyday life in Serbia, Euro is already a parallel currency nowadays. Why not making it official?

"do these politico talking heads think that al Serbians are retarded"

You say this jokingly, but I wouldn't be surprised if this is, in fact, true...

I remember even during the "golden days" of Tito in the 70's, Serbian citizens begging me to sell them my "valute", dollars. The dinar was never a valued or appreciated currency. And now, this Serbian banking clown is asking us (Serbs) to honor the dinar. You f'ing (bad person), if you and your cohorts didn't rob and destroy this country, maybe there would be something left to be proud of?

Give us a break! Kosovo currency! I wouldn't count you give me a donkey and I give you a cow as currency. Perhaps middle age currency. Kosovo has gone from poor to even poorer.

Reader you have used a great analogy for salt and pride. For one thing one cannot survive on salt, as is the case with pride. Another is that salt is invariably used in large quantities when the quality of dish is bad or poorly prepared. The quality of dish in this case applies to real issues, the salt / pride is purely cosmetic.

But yes, it is amusing to hear him banging on about pride in the currency. Its true that the Germans used to take pride in their currency and the US and to some extent the British take pride in theirs. However, thats because they are / were all strong currencies linked to strong economies with a long tradition.

On the other hand among Serbs the dinar is a bit of a joke really. Generations of Serbs remember the word dinar in its various forms representing inflation. Not that I encourage this mocking attitude, but its the truth.

Bravo, Comm. do these politico talking heads think that al Serbians are retarded, and not paying attention. I would stick this entire cast of ruling elite in a barrel, and send them for a ride down the danube, with a note, "If found, keep, but do not return".

In Bosnia, Montenegro, Kosovo are good currency.
In Serbia, currency is same as old Italian and Turkish currency.
Now Turkey is strong and Italy have Euro.
Only solution for Serbia - Russian Ruble.

First time I hear pride applied to currency. I've heard it applied to history, customs, sport, etc etc, never currency. Pride is truly like salt in the kitchen. It makes everything taste better, even the dinar and its gourmet recipes.

"Only when we become a full-fledged member of the EU shall we take the next step, which is to join the European monetary union, the eurozone system. "
And only when the Serbian currency is stable (i.e. fluctuations only within a small bandwidth) against the Euro over a certain period of years, a country can become an Euro-zone member.

“One of the main problems, not only here but in Europe as well, is that both the states and the citizens are spending more than they have created, which creates the public debt of a country."

No. If the citizens spend more than they earn, they create their personal debt. Public debt is only created when the state is spending more than the earnings allow.

Stick it your (r) ear, Soskic. Do you earn what do you deserve, or are you well overpaid for doing nothing but coming out with cheap talk. You politicos have stolen so much from this country, and then have the gall to come out and say that the citizens have over spent.
