On a personal level I will not be affected at all as I have more than sufficient resources to live very well.
(sj, 19 June 2012 01:16)
Of that I am sure, the one thing we have learned is if you don't have it give you 5 minutes and you will create it.
Milosevic did nothing to benefit Kosovo after taking office. Life was better for Albanians under Tito, No one disputes that. But if you think life was rosy for Albanians under Milosevic then it puts all your comments into perspective.
Oh by the way where are the Asians going to market their tokens if not in the west. Name another area that is not dependent on western money.

Nikolle

You're still persisting with your nonsense sj? The west does not have money to stay in Kosova but the tiny insignificant spec known as Serbia has? Seriously your logic is the best!

The facts are that Kosovo lived well under Tito as he gave your lot many things for free such as electricity, water, land rates and he even became the “godfather” of every ninth or tenth Albanian child.
Milosevic built a huge biscuit manufacturing plant in Pristina just prior to the wars where it employed over 3000. It was the sanctions that were placed by the west that made life difficult in what remained of Yugoslavia and it was not just your Albanians that suffered but everyone. Now that you seem to have shaken off Milosevic can you tell me and everyone else what has the west brought to Kosovo in these 13 intervening years since being liberated? Please edify us all at the number of industry brought to an independent Kosvoa. Living and just existing are two very different things. Please also give the Serbs guarantees that your rabble will not seek work in Serbia proper once there is free movement of people – considering the terror they suffered under the Serbs I would expect no one, but I’d like to hear it from an Albanian.
As far as the economic crash is concerned, yes many countries will feel it, but some more than others. The Asians will very quickly recover; in fact computer modeling shows that it would not take more than 12 months for the upturn. On a personal level I will not be affected at all as I have more than sufficient resources to live very well.

Actually I won't be in Kosovo nor Serbia to endure the financial crisis, but one thing is for sure. The people of Kosovo had to endure the Milosevic years, no jobs, no money, dirt poor relying on what they could from family outside of Kosovo, and then having what they had taken by the Serbs. So now who do you think will be able to weather a real financial downturn better? My vote goes for those who have survived before.
My sorrow is I cannot see your face when you finally realize you are not immune.

I don’t deal in gambling mate so see your local Voodo man called the stockbroker. I work in a Merchant Bank.
But I can tell you this much. The next showing cracks is Germany because German banks have lent too much to places like Greece so they would buy German goods and now all of the EU is in deep recession and the US is in a Great Recession” the Germans can’t sell what they produce.
(a New Day, 18 June 2012 06:37)
If Serbia goes bad and it probably will because of how things are going in Europe then you rabble in Kosova are going to experience a new word for austerity and pain. Let’s face it the Serbs are far superior to your lot and the sooner you understand that the better off you’ll be.
Maybe your pizza delivery job is slowing down but the Asian market has not stopped which is better than I can say for the US or Albania or Kosova. Enjoy the misery boys.

This election in Greece has done nothing for the world economy- it has only made a few feel good as the hard work is yet to come. You rely on TV and Saturday night drinking sessions with your friends to come up with crap like you have posted.
The reason why there are 1000 publications is simple mate. Its not just news but there is plenty of truth. Start buying the Wall street Journal or London Times or Financial review in Australia – these give you a good picture of what is going on. The reason why many are concerned over the current economic situation is that it will engulf the world.
The Internationals want to end its supervision of Kosovo because the money has run out. Many in the west want to abandon Kosovo as it is a mess and no end in sight and its best handed back to the Serbs to control the Albanians.
The US is retreated from Iraq, NATO is packing up in Afghanistan - both of these are DEFEATS; MAJOR ONES!!! THE MONEY HAS RUN OUT. The Us has been kicked out of the South China Seas. If you want more let me know.
KFOR under US control would have used any means to control the Serbs. The US pissed on everything it held sacred such as human rights freedom of speech rule of law. Now it Abh Grahib Prison in Iraq, the spring movement in Bahrain where the US kept very quiet while the Saudis used tanks against the majority;and the last but best of all Gittmo bay. And you thing they would be too disturbed to use force against the Serbs?

Of course Serbia will somehow be shielded and continue to be the home of prosperity, milk and honey. They will be able to line the streets of Belgrade with gold. That is why as the value of the Euro drops the value of the dinar against the falling euro is plummeting.
I rarely make predictions like sj is so good at, but the one that I can truly make irregardless of where you are in the world, but more so in countries like Serbia, a financial collapse in the west is going to hit you like a ton of bricks. The one blessing as Asian markets start rolling, sj will probably be too busy to bless us with his wisdom.

They are manipulated by some criminals and contrabandists. Take a look at serb minority in other parts of Kosova. Now, they are part of Kosova institutions and are doing well.

(Adrian, 17 June 2012 13:11)

But they voted against Prishtina institutions. Life of Kosovo Serbs south of Ibar river doesn't seem to encourage them to support Prishtina institutions.

Agim Kelmendi, what about the poor monk that was brutally attacked and assaulted last week by an Albanian group? Really, to out number and beat a monk, that is lowest of the low. So please, Agim, stop with your Kosova is a Shangri-La BS, no one is buying it. Serbs are more tolerant of other ethnicities, that is proven by the multi ethnic nature of Serbia. I cannot say the same for Albanians.

"I can bet my life, majority of Serbia wants your government to improve their economical situation, rather than instigating conflicts in Kosova."
(Eagle, 17 June 2012 15:44)

I guess the majority of Kosovo Albanians want that, too. Unfortunately, the Kosovo government uses the good old method (Milosevic used it, too, btw.) to create tension elsewhere to draw attention away from the fact that not much has been reached economically in Kosovo in the last years for the ordinary citizen who wants to live a decent life, find a job, not being exposed to corrupt state officials and so on.

What has been achieved by Thaci government (if actively or by neglecting I don't know) is that the drug mafia found a safe place to operate from and turn Kosovo into Europe's main drug hub. I don't know if this is an achievement to be proud of. But what you expect from a police who arrest people for 'carrying voter lists' but turns a blind eye on drug business?

Nice try gentlemen….
Your comments are untrue… How many Serb families tried to return to their homes in Kosovo and were met with beatings and their homes burned or damage?…
Albanian families live in North Mitrovica – no Serb families live in South Mitrovica – this fact itself explains the true reality in Kosovo

You along with 95% of the world press has predicted the problems with Europe, don't know what credit you really want. On any day that you actually predicted anything real, we can find it in at least a 1000 publications. In what universe do you think you have revealed anything new? What I find funny is how you who live some 4000 miles away and probably only real connect with the situations in Kosovo is through the press, claim to know everything happening. You are living some fantasy dream through the people in Serbia, like a dungeons and dragons game, the only difference is these people are living it for real, while their loss means nothing to you. Like so many on here you think there is NO sacrifice for the Serbs in Kosovo too great to make you proud of your heritage;.
Also your constant rhetoric of US or Kfor retreating with their tails between their legs. If this were true you would see no activity in the north.
There is one big difference while they have a job to do, they do not want to use the same resources as your beloved Milosevic and go in and drive everyone out without regard to life or porperty. Their goal is to have the Serbs stay. Using dipolomacy while foreign to you takes time. What is happening in the north is not of such urgency that it requires full combat to tackle the problems.

I live in Pristina. I don't know how to prove it. It's on you to belive it or not. Gracanica is only 6-7 km from Pristina, Caglavica 5 km, Partesh less than 10 km. The point is that i visit these municipalities/villages once a week, because nature of my work. I meet a lot of serbs because they are clients of company where I work. And we didn't have any problem till now.

Don't forget that deputy prime minister is serb, more than 15 deputies are serbs, two ministries are leaded by serbs...municipalities of Gracanica, Strpce, Partes etc...are leaded by serbs, 10% of Kosovo Police are serbs etc etc etc. As you can see, it is not everything black in Kosova.

If you ask about serbs in other municipalities, it is early yet to return there because of Milosevics crimes. Don't forget that more then 10.000 albanias were killed before 13 years, and more than 1 million has been expelled by Milosevic forces.

We are ready to cooperate with serbs from Kosovo. The only problem are politics of Belgrade and behave of ultranationalists from Serbia.

Please also give the Serbs guarantees that your rabble will not seek work in Serbia proper once there is free movement of people – considering the terror they suffered under the Serbs I would expect no one, but I’d like to hear it from an Albanian.

Exactly as I said. You take one down we will put up more. I spoke to my cousin from Zvecan he told me personally that he's seen houses full of supplies needed to erect strong roadblocks and that soon as one goes down there will be more erected in its place.

NATO-KFOR is just spending Western taxpayers money for something that will never be. Obviously the Albanians could care less it is taking money out of ordinary people's paychecks to fund this stupidity but NOBODY in the West that is not a mouth-peace of corrupt governments support these dirty people.

So go ahead KFOR. If you really have nothing better to do then keep up with what you are doing but the Serbs are staying and it will take an annihilation of 40,000 people to get your way.

What's concerning is Albanians would opt for that. They live in a fantasy world however if they think the West will take it that far for them.

No, the latest is that all barricades have gone up all over Northern Kosovo. What will be the end result, well we all know that the United States and friends will run away with their tail between their legs.
Once again the idiocy of the west is in full view of the world. But be patient and keep your courage up my fellow Serbs in Kosovo because you are not alone and the halfwits from Washing ton are only trying your determination as they know their end is coming to a close. The change of Government in Serbia did not happen accidently but as they say in western films a new sheriff is on town – Russia - and as soon as the pieces are in place the moves will begin.
Just also heard yesterday from a colleague that Croatia is now in crises with not only inflation but well into a deep recession and the same applies for Slovenia. Beat up Albanians in prishtina, at the same time while you don't even live any where near Balkans. If you're so proud to be a Serb prove it. If you're so tough show us... Stop talking about it. You are day dreaming when you talk about Kosova. Serbs are never going to even dare try and cross the border with any kinda military uniform. U.S. Could leave as few as 1,000 soldiers in Kosova that will still put gods fear on Serbs. Serbia needs to worry about their declining dinar that Serbia can't seem to stable. I can bet my life, majority of Serbia wants your government to improve their economical situation, rather than instigating conflicts in Kosova.

As we can see, they don't have problems only with albanians. They have problems with Croats, Bosnians and NATO memmbres (Europe and USA) too.
