Enjoy being Northern Cyprus until the eventual liberation of our southern province.

You got it dear... Albanians are doing precisely that - enjoying it. Life is short so enjoy as much as you can :)

I am confused are you trashing the Serbian diasporia here, since that is who comprises most of the comments in the English section?

I think that Jeremic is overplaying his appointment. While it does offer prestige, it offers no more power or change the weight of the world. Just like the rotating head of the UNSC, do you see a shift of policy during a different presidency? NO, it is ceremonial title like who gets to carry the flag in a parade. It only has significance in this situation because the position could not be decided by the rotating region and had to have an open vote, then it was not a clear mandate in that he only had a few more votes than the Lithuanian.
doubt my claims here is a self test. No need to answer as to the fact that should you do it is because you did a web search for info. If you know this off the top of your head then kudos
Can anyone name the UNGA president from any of the years 2001-2010 and list a benefit that it gave their home country?

Jeremic has been an effective FM and it is due to him that Serbia has been able to keep the recognitions from being a landslide, but he slowed the momentum but did not stop or reverse it, but none of this would have been possible without Russian support. Be careful not to lose it!

Mr/Mrs Avni, you give nothing but negative, sour grape opinions regarding Serbia on a daily basis, why? What is your beef with Serbia and Serbs? Do you not understand that there can never be peace in the Balkans without a strong Serbia? I presume you are Albanian Avni, but please understand, Serbs will remain in the Balkans, and you can do nothing about that, and they will always be more powerful than Albanians. Better to accept and enjoy, than to resist and be miserable. Don't you agree, Mr/Mrs Avni?
(Ecoman, 14 June 2012 18:40)

Yes, we are SO lucky to have Serbia in the Balkans, since they have been such a stabilizing force and advocate for peace. Perhaps the reason that nobody in the region wanted to vote for Vuk for the UN (the organization which is supposed to promote peace), was because in the past 20 years Serbia has started (and lost) wars with almost everybody in the region.

Exactly! That's absurd, in a way. But even more amazing to me are the Serbs nationalist that constantly rant about the 'evil west' and who prefer, nevertheless, to live a nice life in Australia, UK, Canada or other western countries.

@Avni,
Kosova as you would call it cant even vote.. here or any other major international forums. So what planet do you live on?.. get real. Its Serbia's province, and as long as we maintain the North, soon enough when your babysitters go home, the reality on the ground will change again. However.. Jeremic has represented Serbia in nothing but a positive way, and congrats to him for all his work.

Not exactly. Chad & Nigeria were declared as recognition's of your illegal occupation but that was found out to be untrue. And that is where the 89 comes from.

I mean yes in theory its no real power, the real power is in the security council where we have Russia & China. The fact is though, Jeremic can and has said he will continue using the UN as a forum to lobby against the occupation. With Jeremic single handedly (God knows nobody else in the DS is helping him) prevented those 100+ recognition's in one year that the snake predicted, then becoming the president of the general assembly will only make that easier. Besides its lobbying that can be done at the UN's expense not off the Serbian tax payer.

And LOL funny that you should mention the Dinar, what is the currency they use in Kosovo* ?? Oh yeah the Euro...the very currency that is three months away from complete collapse? What will you use then? I don't even want to know the God awful name of Albania's currency.

You can say he has no real power but the point is we are doing things in the world.

You don't contribute to anything except for extracted organs and opium from Afghanistan.

Reality=Jeremic at the UN for a year and Serbia heading the OSCE after that means at least two years of a much harder path to full statehood which will never come anyway.

Enjoy being Northern Cyprus until the eventual liberation of our southern province.

I have been away from this board for a while, so I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Mr. Jeremic, and Serbian diplomacy, on their victory in the UNGA. Even with the arm-bending of UN powerhouses like the USA and Germany, our Vuk was able to score a justified victory. In reading the few Albanian posts today, I sense some sour grapes, but these shallow and narrow minded comments are expected. There would never be real reconciliation in the Balkans with opinions like the ones I read from Albanian here, but luckily they are from Albanian diaspora, and not actual Albanians living in Kosovo. Amazing to me how people that flee from their homelands, are actually more nationalistic than the people that stay and live through the ups and downs of their homelands. In any case, good work Vuk, you have achieved a major victory for Serbia, even against the face of aggressive Western biased influence. The world is awake, and justice does eventually prevail, even if it is slow in coming.

End of painful period for you dear, if you are sincere and had feel pain for every recognition of Kosova. From now you are not responsible for the new coming recognitions of Kosova.

Like I said before, Jeremic can do free lobbying for us at the UN that wont come from the Serbian tax payer. There is nothing saying that he cant. Because the countries' that voted for him know him very well through lobbying for Serbia's position regarding its occupied province (temporary).

Also, Clinton said its not 91, but 89 countries who recognize the temporary occupation.

What happened to the snake Thaci's prediction of 100 instant recognition's. LMFAO+

Almost 5 years later, you still aren't there.

Expect the goal posts to be moved even further now.
(Ari Gold, 14 June 2012 12:47)

Ari,

When Clinton made the above statement there were 89 recognitions, currently there are 91, tomorrow that may increase, it's actually quite simple to understand. You and Jeremic can't fool all the people.

Vuk, your home coming Queen, has no real power as president of UNGA, and it's only for one year. Expect many more recognitions of Kosova, in the meantime watch the Dinar slip even further.
