its really funny how b92 is full of exKfor soldiers who support the Serbian side :-). its also amusing how we get a lot of pro-Serb Americans here :-), even some who laud Eurovision! well, what to say? so long and thanks for all the fish!

The Serbian army had to leave Kosovo, because it was defeated by US-Airforce. It is not really realistic that Serbs can gain something by any armed clash.

Dodik is all talk, sitting in Banja Luka 1000km away from Kosovo and giving orders from his lounge room sofa, what a joke. If Serbia did send troops to Kosovo, it is more than likely that Dodik would not provide a cent to Serbia and not even send one Serb from RS to fight in Kosovo. Yes Serbia did put up a very good fight against NATO and technically did win the war in 1999, but what does Serbia expect too do by invading? Most of the Serbs have sold up their homes and left, Serbs themselves have let the Albanians spread, no one in Serbia is willing to fight for Kosovo so why do we deserve it? Plus whats next for dodik? Should Serbia invade Croatia and take back Knin? What a joke

You need you work on your "grammar" as well. Not only that, but you said "serbs are the strongest," what an asinine thing to say. However, thank you for that, because I needed a laugh.

Once again you Albanians have it wrong. This man is not talking about fear of sending in troops at all but stating the facts that military action would be stupid and not because NATO, but simply because negotiations are going open behind closed doors over Kosovo. The Albanians have already been forced to sign away very important conditions in Belgrade’s favour because of “international pressure” and I believe more is on its way. That is what Dodik is talking about.
The EU is broke with only loans from China keeping it afloat and if you think that they are in any position to demand real conditions from Serbia your fooling yourself. All of this is the long road back to mother for Kosovo. Forget what you read in the papers as the EU as these are only saving face exercises such as continued talks with Pristina a condition of blah blah blah. IT’s pure 100% BS or face saving spin.

NATO is a finished group. Now if you think that Belgrade would go in without Moscow’s blessing then you’re crazy. The status quo will remain until the time is right for the take over.
When push comes to shove the Germans won’t be involved because of their terrible history in the Balkans so that leaves the US silly poms and Turks. I doubt that the US is willing to get involved in another mess so soon after Iraq and Afghanistan. Oh one more matter there are no guarantees that the sides that stand aside wont join the Serbs – so much for NATO solidarity. That is the real concern for the Pentagon.
Let me inform you to the fact that the Serbian army is now right on the administrative line with Kosovo – now why would that is allowed? Hmmmmm? What happened to the Kumanovo agreement???? Minimum 5km away?????? All finished.
There will be no more agreement signed involving the Serbian army and that’s guaranteed. You people still live in the 1990s.

All Serbia needs to defends itself is a single Serb with a rifle and a Serbian heart. Look at what we did against the mighty Austrians while your people were quick to adopt a servile status and actually BEG them to rule you for centuries. Our history is very different. Learn about Serbian history and the brave Serbian heart before you post nonsense.

The US and Europe have already seen the thanks that the Albos have given them, e.g. all the welcomed terrorist attacks. In reality, the "kosovars" are just as flip-flopping as their NATO caretakers. How Do they expect to maintain foreign support by killing armed forces and attacking US military camps in New Jersey? By selling them organs? Maybe opium? Get out of here, the world is awake. I think someone should show Dodik the state of the Serbian economy and point out to him that Serbia is nearing bunkruptcy even without an unnecessary military escalation. Dodik always comes up with grandiose inane ideas and never mentions how he would pay for them. Who's going to pay for the military escalation? If the Serbia army couldn't defeat any of its opponents when it was full strength in the 90s (basically in control of all of Yugoslavia's arms and munitions) what chance does the much smaller, weaker, and poorer current Serbian army stand against opponents that have become stronger in the past two decades? Serbia does not have a single ally in it's neighborhood is in fact surrounded by countries that would gladly see further erosion of Serbia's economy and influence in the region. Dodik lives in a fantasy world and is continually making statements and decisions that harm the Serbian people's interestes and make him sound mentally unbalanced.

Lenard

Dodik says he'd "put Serbian army on alert" Dodo Serbia dose not even have money to go on alert. Over 90% of Serbia's armed forces budget goes to retirement payments because Serbia loaded up the EX Serbo/Yugoslavia army with Serbs and also salary's. The majority of the 1960-1970's era weapons that Serbia stole don't even have the money to extend their life or modernization and maintenance if possible. Don't forget feeding the troops housing them ,fuel ,ammunition etc no money in poor Serbia. Then their is the huge expense keeping the fantasy going of a "Srpska entity" aka Greater Belgrade Serbia criminal war pogrom in the country of Bosnia. Dodo definitely you should be Serbia's president you would exhilarate expediently Greater Serbia's self inflicted demise.

I don't understand this short mentality when not too long ago what Dodik said was done and it just backfired into Belgrade. How can dome people here even suggest that NATO would stand aside and not retaliate when NATO bombed the capital city of your country, and you think that if the Serbian army walks in and crosses the border NATO would just stand aside?
Honestly why do people make such ridiculous comments is way beyond me.
Having the army on high alert it would be a waist of time and energy because that's all it would be no more than just in high alert and the army can only stay on high alert for some time before it is exhausted and then realize that that's all it will be.
Listen, there will not be another chance for Serbia to have its forces in Kosovo/a, that situation has long gone. For those people that think, well, when the international forces are gone, we will just go in and take it again, you can't possibly and actually believe that they will just leave without any assurance that the Serbian army does not step a foot into Kosovo/a.
Either way the US will not leave Kosovo for a long time and I am not claiming this because the US cares for the Albanians but they are the to prevent Russia from exerting its influence in the region and they will stay there as long as it takes to do just that and Kosovo/a is the perfect place for them to do that, it was also the reason in the first place they went in.

I respect Dodik's point of view. Putting the Serbian army on alert demonstrates readiness, it indicates don't go to far because we're here.
It implies we will respond accordingly. Contrary to the sell out, Tadic, who literally gave the Evil Empire permission to go and rip Serbia apart, how many times has he professed, "we'll do it diplomatically," to the very country that he knew has no respect for diplomacy. He blamed Milosevic for the Kosovo situation. I'm sorry Mr. Tadic, however, Milosevic never sold his country out. Despite his shortcomings, regarding Kosovo, he was noble, patriotic, had the guts, and did the right thing. I hope Nikolic hangs Tadic for treason and election fraud.

(Ari Gold, 13 June 2012 15:32)

I believe there is around 16K NATO troops in Kosovo. Out of the 16K NATO troops only the American, British,German and Turkish troops would fight, the rest of the NATO group would stand aside the same exact way UN stood on Srebrenica. Kosovo has no security force of it own that will match that of Serbia. So with a decent force Serbian army could fight its way to the Albanian border within hours. So why isnt then the Serbian army moving in and taking over its heatland. Because of what would happen the next day or the next hour. I hope you get the picture now.

So my answer to you is that when and if NATO decides to leave Kosovo, Serbian army will never again be able to cross the line as an agreement will be signed that will guarantee Kosovos security and territorial intergrity. If you think this is bluff try crossing the border and see how your mighty army will be decimated within days.

(Kosova-USA, 13 June 2012 15:05)

He did say that, good observation. But now be honest, is he saying that because of fearing the big bad mighty organ extractors, or because of NATO-KFOR?

The solution is simple, I cannot tell you when KFOR is going to fully withdraw (I don't make outrageous claims that they are leaving tomorrow unlike Albs who say they will be there forever)

but whenever they do leave, Serbia takes back its rightful borders and reintegrates southern Kosovo into Serbian institutions.

SCP UK

pre 11 godina

What Dodik says is absolutely correct, though I would add that the Serbian army be literally sitting on the fictional border, while at the same time initiating martial law in Presevo and Bujanovac to secure those areas of albanian terrorist threats. What confuses me is if he thinks this then why did he support Tadic? Tadic was the biggest coward when it came to this issue.

Lenard

pre 11 godina

Blair

pre 11 godina

Cheers, and honestly, Dodik is a complete moron.

John, get your facts straight brother, there are only 6209 NATO Troops in Kosovo, Brits make up the grand total of 1, the top 3 contributing countries are Germany, Italy and Austria in that order. The evil American empire's contribution is half of what Italy and Germany Contribute, about 750 soldiers total. I visited Bondsteel today, half of the soldiers accomodations have been demolished. Here is the National make up of Bondsteel, Greece, Polish, Ukraine, Cotatia, and U.S. for a total non U.S. force structure of 559 total soldiers. Get your facts straight before posting crap.

Here is a little bit of information for you Albanians who think that you have the U.S. fooled. Serbs were granted more immigration visas for 2011 than Kosovo and Albania combined. We have enough problems and don't need the higher crime rates.

Declaring independence is not everything. Republika Srpska is a lot more independent in name than Pristina is.

Think about it, ALL of RS's affairs come from Banja Luka by SERBS. Kosovo* is an western protectorate and the Albanians cannot make a decision that isn't already accepted by the west.

The people are for Serbia, with the exception of those that run the talking points in these bigger countries. And its not as expensive for food as it once was, as the army is now professionalized, not mandatory. Where you were forced to feed everyone.
Lenard, you are lost. Go read up on your albo stats.. Albania spends 1/6 th the money Serbia does on its military, and has many less soldiers and weapons. Not to mention, those trolls in Pristina have nothing. so please Lenard..spare us your knowledge. Only 30% of the Serb military budget goes to pensions.
