Constitutional Court bans right-wing organization

Democracy and freedom of speech being tarnished as we speak, with the new era of political correctness being imposed on the Serbian people. Anyway this court ordered ban is insignificant, Obraz will still continue to exist and it will still attend protests. Politically correct liberalism won't prevail in Serbia, no matter how much the west wants it and the more it is imposed the more opposition will grow, just wait and see.

I share your sentiments totally. This is the west's imposition to curb nationalism. You see, Serbs are not allowed to love their country, in fact, if you don't hand it over (Kosovo), you are labelled as anti-democratic. I don't see any other country doing the same. It's funny because in the US, if you don't hang a flag on your porch on July, 4, you are branded for being antipatriotic. In the Evil empire, the KKK which is known for its belief is acceptable. You have fascist organizations, you have open bigotry, but that's all ok in Satanland. But God forbid should a Serb love his country!!

The reality is this organization bases their work on violence and hatred. It is not quite the same thing as being politically correct. There are several known incidents in which Obraz supporters physically assault homosexuals, surely no healthy society would allow something like this.

What is bad though is comparing a decent center-right organization like Dveri to these lunatics. Dveri's answer to the shame pride parade was not violence against gays but a 'Family Walk' in which everyone was welcome not just Lenard and Danilo.

This is a step in the right direction. The next step would be banning the Mufti in Raska as well as Nenad Canak and his 'vojvodinists' who only latch on to larger parties like the DS as that is their only guarantee of political survival. Both of these factions are just as extreme as Obraz as far as I'm concerned.

If you cannot provide proof then you are only hating and not giving anything to the conversation. It just appears you are doing free bidding for the powers that have put Serbia in such a dreadful position it is in today (albeit not unlike our hostile neighbors, but we are better than they are so its not acceptable)

Not supporting a parade based on a certain group of peoples sexual orientation is not homophobic. I do not fear gays and I don't think Dveri fear them either. I have no ill will towards gays and support them being fully protected from the law just like any other citizen.

They already have that, and any other human right. So a parade is like I said before passive aggressive and in your face.

I would respect a gay parade in Saudi Arabia or Iran where their way of life is truly infringed upon. Serbia is not that and neither are Dveri.

I agree with you. The reason why so many Serbian youth are angry is because of the constant hypocrisy the West and Serbia's weaker but hostile neighbors have put on Serbia. It was seen in Germany after WWI that giving collective blame to one group only aggravates the situation. Turkey and Austria deserved just as much blame as the Germans did so due to such a simplistic way of looking at a conflict it bred another extremist movement from Germany only a couple of decades later.

I just think organizations like Obraz make it hard to be a patriot and love your country. In Serbia, Serbophobia is a industry that continues to thrive despite the economic downturn. So when these people beat up gays in the streets and light the Bosnian flag on fire, it pretty much gives ammo to the Serb-phobes and those being ashamed of really the most advanced society (despite several setbacks)in Ex-Yu.

On the contrary, I would call Dveri center right. The SNS appear to have no ideology (much like the DS) so their lack of backbone in my opinion is the lack of ideology not that it is center right.

Although Dveri was clearly cheated in the recent elections and obviously passed the census (while Mladja Dinkic was nowhere near the census but got in) many more should have voted for them and not thrown their votes away to the old and tired Radical party which has nothing left to offer Serbia.

I do often tend to agree with the majority of comments and I respect your outlook, but I have some minor disagreements here. When it comes to violence, people from all sorts of groups have been violent and it is not subject only to Obraz. But we must also ask why they act violently, and the fact is that violence comes out of frustration and anger, while I don't agree with it, the reason is that they try and get their point across in a civil manner but they get ignored and given the middle finger, so the last resort is violence.

With Dveri I think their Family Walk was a great way of showing that they were very angry with that shameful parade, but while I am also in a lot of agreement with them I wouldn't call them centre-right, not to say that they are 'ultra-right' but I think centre-right is more descriptive of the SNS, in other words a party which has some decent views but a lack of backbone, Dveri on the other hand is very stern and wont be swayed.

There's a difference between free speech and vandalizing peoples property and harming innocent bystanders. Unfortunately the animals don't know this difference, so now they will be restricted to their incubators where hate will build up and manifest itself more.

The Serbian government bans a Serbian nationalist group while on the other hand allow Albanian wahabbis to join the Serbian police force and allow Serbian Muslim (no they are cant be called Bosnians, they are Serbs) Wahabbi Al Qauade synmpithhisers to roam the streets with their heads held up high. Im coming to think that everyone in the Serbian government has some form of mental retardation or were quiet simply dropped at birth.

I do not know anything about the guilt or innocence of Obraz, but I would have thought that their Charter upholds the Constitution, and Proper Democratic Principles, and what are the offending clauses if any, otherwise they would have on Criminal Charges rather than be banned for Political Reasons.

There is no organization of Earth that can guarantee that all of its Members follow their Charter, because the CIA can infiltrate organization to try to discredit it, and the Serbian Police should have been banned because there are Criminals in the Police Force.
