I feel that if rain hadn't interrupted play, Nole would have gone on to win the title. He was in the ascendency, and was demonstrating that manic almost super human determination to win at all costs. That state of mind that he so often demonstrates when under extreme pressure, witness the Tsonga match, is the only way to beat someone as ruthless as Nadal. That was lost when play was interrupted. The momentum had seeped away. Novak is very much a player of the moment. And that moment passed when the match was disrupted by rain. What I liked was when Novak conceded a disputed point to his opponent earlier in the match. He could have argued about it but he chose not to. A really decent bloke. The face of modern Serbia. And Well done Rafa. The duel continues!

Pretty sure Novak would have taken him down had it not started raining on Sunday....he was starting to really have the upper hand until the skies opened up...

I think the lesson this year is that the French Open desperately needs a roof over its central court. Its hard on both players to go back to their hotels and then return to finish a match the next day.

I'm not making excuses for Nole, but he was coming back into the match when rain stopped play. I feel he would have won that set and we have all been robbed of a gripping final set.

I'm surprised Novak got a set from Rafa. Rafa owns the clay(now has won the French more than Borg, 7 times), good news for Serbs is Novak is the best tennis player on the planet on every other surface, I expect Novak to win the other 3 grand slams.

two great sportsmen. today Nadal was the better player, congratulations! and also to Nole, who is the only one to have taken a set from Nadal - Bravo!
