i checked western media sites and could not find any headlines about Jeremic's appointment. So, it seems like nobody cares about this. As a UNGA President, he better stay within its guidelines or he will be the first President of UNGA to be sacked in its entire history.
During his year he will have no choice but to shake hands with Kosova FM or PM, every time they come to UNHQ. It will be a hard pill to swallow but Jeremic will have no choice or he will be fired.
(Agim Kelmendi, 8 June 2012 18:18) congrats vuk again and here is more from the world lol

What the world is comming to.

Sad to see a shovinist to be part of UN never mind to head parts of it.

It just shows we'd rather be poor, none UN, EU than accept anything that has to do with Serbs and Serbia.

With guy in charge I would say he sits on the top of the chart for propaganda.

Cheers

Congrats to Jeremic, the first UNGA President from Serbia. There was 1 from Yugoslavia in the late 1970s but he was Macedonian, actually 2 Macedonians have held the post, Lazar Mojsov in the 70s representing Yugoslavia and Srgjan Asan Kerim in 2007 representing FYROM. America has never held the post.

and both Russia and China will veto any attempt.
(Zoran, 8 June 2012 19:29)

Of course, but there has to be an attempt first; until then Russia's and China's vetos are worthless.
(icj1, 9 June 2012 04:52)
==================================

Either way you lose. Why don't you attempt it and see how far you get?
You attempt, you get vetoed, you don't attempt and you stay outside the UN.
Either way it works for us.

@ Momcilo

You just don't get it or maybe don't want to. We the Kosovo Albanians don't care about any of those organisations that you mention as long as we have nothing to do with Serbia my friend. For your information we are taking part in lots of sports representing Albania like half of the Albanias football team is originally from Kosovo and in Judo and many more. Plus on those organisations you mention Albania represents us very well if we cannot be part of that organisation.

My regret is that I only found this thread and your comment this morning!

Think about it.. over 2/3 the world doesn't recognize Kosovo and considers it a part of Serbia. What a beautiful thing!
(Momcilo, 8 June 2012 23:02)

Of course, as all dreams, it is beautiful LOL

Unfortunately, there is no proof that 130 countries or 4.5 billion people have stated that they don't recognize Kosovo. But we may be wrong and you may have the proof and you are welcome to provide the list of those 130 countries or 4.5 billion people :)

I'm glad you confirmed that as many Albanians think that getting recognition from two thirds of the general assembly will get them independence.
(Zoran, 8 June 2012 19:29)

If Albanians think what you say, they must really be stupid. Getting recognition from two thirds of the general assembly, or even 100% of both GA and UNSC makes an entity no more independent than, say, Ukraine was from USSR from 1945 to 1990 when Ukraine was a founding member of the UN.
----------

The truth is, only the security council can do that
(Zoran, 8 June 2012 19:29)

Unfortunately, the UN thinks differently http://www.un.org/en/members/about.shtml
----------

and both Russia and China will veto any attempt.
(Zoran, 8 June 2012 19:29)

Of course, but there has to be an attempt first; until then Russia's and China's vetos are worthless.

What the hell is wrong with this "WesleyClark" guy? Every article I read he has a comment whining about something. I don't see how he feels any better about Albania by trying to put down Serbia. He acts all informed and educated, despite the clear fact he has no idea what he is talking about. Do you even have a job? I don't see how else you find enough time to post your moronic opinions on every single article.

Kind of sad when you can only brag using half truths and misrepresentations! 90 countries have recognized, more have agreed to, others are considering. Actually only less than 40 approximately 25% of the world sees Kosovo as part of Serbia and have taken a stand against recognition.

Ahhhh...well maybe those albos will smarten up one day, and join the real world instead of causing problems. Must feel isolated..poor economy..thugs in office..illegal operations everywhere. Im sure its not what the honest Albanians wanted when they pictured independance of our Southern territory. Instead.. they are more isolated today as much as ever. Oops i forgot.. I congratulate Mr. Jeremic. Whole heartedly. He is proud of himself and to the people of Serbia. Now he must follow the United Nations Mandate and will be the First Serb to officially recognize Kosova. And he will be the first Serb to welcome Kosova as the newest member of the United Nations. Mr. Jeremic, you will begin to eat all your negative words regarding Kosova and the world will witness it. Albanians are happy!

We know that Lithuania is the last bastion for Germany to deny Serbia the Trinket of the SAA Agreement if Serbia’s bid should be successful on this occasion.

We know that Germany will pressure their European Puppet Countries to help their other long time Puppet, Lithuania.

If Albanians think what you say, they must really be stupid. Getting recognition from two thirds of the general assembly, or even 100% of both GA and UNSC makes an entity no more independent than, say, Ukraine was from USSR from 1945 to 1990 when Ukraine was a founding member of the UN.

Unlike the 15-nation Security Council, which can issue legally binding resolutions and authorize sanctions or military interventions, the assembly's decisions are recommendations with no legal force. In light of all of his failures to stop recognition's and Kosova's independence, its nice to see the guy win something for a change:) All ceremonial with no power of course.

We know that Lithuania is the last bastion for Germany to deny Serbia the Trinket of the SAA Agreement if Serbia’s bid should be successful on this occasion.

We know that Germany will pressure their European Puppet Countries to help their other long time Puppet, Lithuania.
