Nicolic is a simple ofcar, he needs to read about Montenegro and Montenegrin. But as a Serbian Leader Balkan is used to this I want Slovenia, I want Macedonia, I want Croatia, I want Romania. What we want it does not tell the history of a nation!
How did he get voted, or people wanted someone who comes out and tells what he wants?

Peggy

yes Peggy, and of course, you guys know this now. what do you know, maybe Nikolic is CIA too? for the sake of my own education, could you perhaps tell me when Sloba became an American agent?

So you think this will be the stumbling block?
If people want this then "Kosova" will cease to exist. Recognition will be revoked. I cannot believe that you can come here and say that recognition of "Kosova" is more important to Serbs, who are also Montenegrins, than great relations with their brothers.
Are you for real? Wait and see when this Djukanovic fellow is gone.

Ilija

I respect the president's opinion, but the independence of Montenegro was not fait acoompli. The elections were rigged because some powerful people and nations wanted it to be "independent." You can't have elections where "Montenegrins" from the diaspora can vote, but not allow 200,000 or so "Montenegrins" living in Serbia not allowed to vote. Obviously the 55% needed for independence would not have occurred if the 200,000 "Montenegrins" in Serbia voted. It's very sad and I hope for Serbia and "Montenegro" to be united as one country and not so called "friendly" relations.

There is so much innuendo coming from the Albanian trolls regarding Nikolic. I respect his stance pertaining to Kosovo. Unlike Tadic, Nikolic is unwilling to forfeit territory for a mirage (a bankrupt EU).
In addition, how many other EU members had to relinguish a piece of their land for membership? The answer, none! So why should Serbia? All of this was manufactured by the Satanic Empire. They told Milosevic to expell the Albanians from Kosovo only to back stab him afterwards, much like Sadham Hussein and Kuwait. Satan wants Kosovo for his own geo-political agenda, so let's stop this crap that if you want to join the EU, you have to give up your province. I would just like to point out to the Albanian trolls that Nikolic now is the commander-in-chief, meaning he appoints the chief of staff and controls or has input in the military agenda. Do not be surprised if he starts supporting the Kosovo Serbs. All it takes is an approval from Uncle Vladimir, and welcome back Kosovo.

Nikolić: I want Serbia, Montenegro to have better relations, sure turning in to a another president of Serbia Slobodan Milošević and also his main mentor Serb Radical Party (SRS) leader Vojislav Šešelj. "I want" good for you Nikolić people want many things don't be demanding. Look where it has gotten Serbia with those I want attitudes from the horrendous past grow up. I will try to build good relations and if we can come to a respectful understanding as equal neighbouring nations that can be mutually beneficial to both country's. Serbs are you sure you want Nikolić not even sworn in already nonsense pouring out of him making Serbia look bad again like in the past. Tomislav Nikolić has already offended the government in neighboring Croatia and raised a few red flags in Georgia.

In a recent interview " Nikolic said that a "greater Serbia" is his "unrealized dream" and called the eastern Croatian city of Vukovar a "Serbian town" and said Croats have no reason to go back there. As if that all weren't enough, Nikolic ruffled feathers in Georgia with his comments to Voice of Russia on May 26 that raised that possibility that Belgrade might join Russia, Nicaragua, Venezuela, and a couple of Pacific island countries in recognizing the independence of Georgia's two breakaway regions, Abkhazia and South Ossetia.
Nikolic dismissed any similarities between Kosovo and the two breakaway states.

Rocky, like the namesake of the famous boxing movies, you may have taken a few too many to the head. I don't wish to burst your bubble, but Kosovo will never have the strength to invade and bring anyone to their knees. And let's suppose this KS force you mention does attempt something like that, do you think your keepers and overseers, the EU/US, will just sit back and watch? I don't believe so. There are many that believe that Albanians should apologize to Serbs for their terrorist actions in the 90's, so where do we go from here? I think dialogue is the best way forward, and views like yours should be placed where they belong, the trash.

I fully agree. However, Nikolic should put pressure on Djukanovic's treasonous regime to rescind their recognition of that fake, illegal, and immoral 'state'. There are several ways to do this, and I don't think it would take much to get them to change.

'He reiterated that he would never recognize Kosovo's independence, even at the cost of giving up the European path of Serbia.'

Ideally the two countries would be one country, because the people are the same, same language, culture, most traditions and so on, it is absurd that they are a state.

Unfortunately this won't happen, but of course great relations should be found with Montenegro, one of the major obstacles here is the criminal who runs the country, Djukanovic. He is the biggest criminal in Montenegro, the amount of time he has held onto power is crazy, and he is well known to be deeply involved in crime and corruption. I dont get why people assume that because CG recognized Kosovo, that means that the people of CG agree. The fact is that Djukanovic is a political whore, and will do what his western masters tell him, that is the ONLY reason why CG recognized Kosovo.

Good relations can begin but the people in CG need to depose Djukanovic, hopefully the protests are showing that this could happen. He needs to go immediately, put on trial and shut away forever.

Nikolichy doesn't waste any time making silly statements. It's not shocking that the first thing he does as president is to mention that he doesn't recognize any difference between Montenegrins and Serbs. This is infactual. Montenegro will NEVER go back to Serbia. If anything he's understanding that he needs access to those ports and that its hurting the Serbian wallet to pay the taxes. Thats business Mr. Nikolichy. Also, there was a referendum and a majority of the voters chose to say bye bye to Serbia....almost the same amount of voters that supported Nikolic over Tadic so all you Serb trolls should be happy with that percentage. Anyway, its irrelevant what Nikolic thinks or says to Montenegro. Seriously though, worry about your own country and economy and welfare of your people instead of playing historian and telling a country who and what they are.

Tomislav you or any of your fellow politicians in Serbia need not never recognize Kosova as independent and frankly I am not expecting that you will anytime soon ! As long as Kosova is slowly being recognized by more & more country's of the world, and it's security forces the (KSF) is strengthing day by day, I quite honestly don't even want Serbia to recognize Kosova. That would mean the normalization of relations between our countries... And until Serbia gets to taste a good dose of its 1990's policy's it inflicted in the Balkans. The time will come not to far in the future, when Serbia will be on its knees begging the government of Kosova to normalize relations with herself! Serbia's foundation still has to many large fractures in its foundation & until time brings those fractures loose, time will be Kosova's best friend ... Oh yes, in the near future you will, willingly want to recognize kosova's independence!

If Serbia had recognized Kosovo soon after 1999, the Union with Montenegro might have been preserved. To sacrifice the Union with Montenegro, despite of the fact that it is the true cradle of Serbian culture, inhabited by a closely related people, the only outlet to the sea of the Joint State and a tourist treasure, for the sake of the hopeless attempt to keep Kosovo, inhabited mostly by a hostile population and anyway occupied by foreign powers, was the worst folly Serbia has ever done. The future generations may never forgive the present political class for that.

(Kosova-USA, 30 May 2012 13:20)

Don't confused a corrupt mafia government with the people of Montenegro. During the latest anti Djukanovic demonstrations, that criminal Klemendi from Kosovo gave the protesters a 300 Euro donation and they returned it back to him.

The people of CG want nothing to do with you. That's the only way you get these recognition's (still not enough it seems), through bribery...the people of the countries that recognized the temporary institutions in Kosovo* cannot stand you except for maybe Albania, Turkey and maybe Afghanistan.

Even in the West, you know the countries whose flags are all over Kosovo*, well those people are disgusted by you. In Europe calling someone a Kosovar* is the utmost insult and sign of disrespect.

Ari Gold

Although I prefer Nikolic over Tadic, our president lacks a long term vision. As far as Montenegro, of course there is no problem being separate country. In fact, Montenegro has always been a separate country from Serbia but what was never negotiable is that country's Serbian character. But now, Djukanovic and co. are trying to make a separate nation, ethnicity and even religion.

I don't support having relations with this regime. A U.S. newspaper declared Montenegro to be a mafia state. Do we want relations with a collaborationist, corrupt mafia regime? Montenegro needs to make a clear decision as to which path they take. If the people want Serbia's support and brotherly relations then I wholeheartedly support that. But there cannot be that kind of relation or as far as I am conference any relation at all as long as these criminals are running your country.

Forget the European path that is smoke and mirrors. Montenegro needs to pick the path of Belgrade or the path of Zagreb/Tirana. Whatever you chose is fine let it be your decision and nobody else's. But if you choose the the latter then you shouldn't expect the nice things Serbia still does for you like allowing your ambassadors into our embassies world wide and letting your students study in Belgrade for the same cost as a student living in Belgrade their entire life.

Integration into Serbia is an option too. I sincerely hope Montenegro does so. Its a beautiful land with a strong Serbian legacy it should be proud of.

This article is about the relationship between CG and Serbia and then suddenly this sentence bumps in. Can somebody explain what this has to do with that? Does the Serbian media have not enough material or this is like a signature under each report? Can we have that also under the weather forecast? "Shiny weather in BG, and..Kosovo je Srbija." "Rainy in Kragujevac and...Kosovo je Srbija".

Well done ! At last Serbia has a more or less logical stance on the issue. Why more or less ? Coz if there’s no difference then why should people be divided ? Besides some will be involved to EUNATO and some may stay out. Tadic has never talked direct to the Montenegrins and I think it was a big mistake. He just helped Podgorica leaders to tear the Montenegrins apart. I would be happy if you build a confederation state. It will strengthen both sides when it comes to conflict the neighboring rival nation.

I would be happy if you build a confederation state. It will strengthen both sides when it comes to conflict the neighboring rival nation.

Well said and done. But, one confederate state recognizes Kosova and the other does not. It just does not work that way.

Instead it should be I like Serbia to have good relations with Montenegro.

"He reiterated that he would never recognize Kosovo's independence, even at the cost of giving up the European path of Serbia."

Funny...

“I recognize Montenegro as a state, but I do not recognize the difference between the Serbs and Montenegrins, because there is not any,”

“I recognize Montenegro as a state, but I do not recognize the difference between the Serbs and Montenegrins, because there is not any,” Nikoli; told Television of Montenegro.'

Good to hear. I like what he is saying, but the real test will come to see what he is doing. He is talking the talk, let's hope he is going to walk the walk.

Cheers!!

Are you speaking for Montenegrins now? How do you know what sort of relations there will be between brothers? Don't bank of Djukanovic (Djubre) to be there all the time.
The fact that you put never in capital letters speaks volumes of how desperate you are to convince someone of it.

I cannot believe what comes out of serb trolls. Your new president is nothing but a liar and a troll. The fact that the people of Montenegro voted to separate from serbia says a lot of your so call brotherly love. If Montenegro does not want to be with Serbia (and they are serbs) what makes you think the people of Kosovo wants anything to do with you

ivan

At least Milosevic wasn't so open about it and had good sense to change his mind, hence they demonized him for it.
