Discrimination in Serbia widespread, commissioner says

The discrimination crap in Serbia, has to be curbed especially for women the most, who once let their employers know they are pregnant are given a notice of termination. Pathetic in a country that is concerned about the falling birthrate. This is just one instance, though the Roma problem is far more widespread. Take a look at Hungary and Croatia - massive Roma waves are coming to Toronto weekly on flights and claiming assylum. The Scarborough area of Toronto, particularity the Morningside area, has seen a massive influx of Croatian Roma refugees, while the Dufferin/King area of downtown Toronto, has over a thousand (perhaps a few thousand) Hungarian refugees that are all recent, within the past year and a half. So much for two countries that profess European standards and democracy and all the other crap.

I'm not saying this is ok, but in Croatia, Bosnia and Kosovo (south Serbia) the rights of Serbian minorities are not respected, they are still heavily discriminated against, I know unfortunately from first hand experience in Croatia. Yet all eyes are on Serbia to curb discrimination, but how about we make the effort when the efforts are mutual across the Balkans, I barely ever hear criticisms to other countries regarding discrimination against Serbs, when it clearly exists.

What a surprise -- Roma a major target. So you keep them out of the workforce, then keep them out of your towns after they've been evicted by from their slums because some developer has bought up the miserable patch of land on which they've put up their pathetic shelter.

I know I'm not the only foreign company who's stopped hiring men unless they have extensive experience working abroad. They always know better than you and find taking instructions an affront to their masculinity.

More than once, I've had a male interviewee pitch me for an investment on some stupid idea two minutes into their job interview.

Of course its nonsense when it pointing the finger at those tolerant Ustashi oops Croats. No matter. The EU has lots of special things for you guys because as the Serbs will not return to most parts of Croatia the EU will dump all the refugees they currently have in Croatia and when you people lift one finger against them the EU will destroy you guys. Where is your political leadership when it comes to paying tribute to Bleiberg or the great war victories such as operation storm????? Nowhere to be seen and this is just the beginning.

It's nothing that either France nor Germany don't do. France sends in the CRS with cameras rolling for Sarko PR to clean out the roma from camps, the germans send back thousands of roma, not to albanian controlled parts of Kosovo - where they come from, but to other parts of Serbia where they don't face death at the hands of the multi-cultural 'Kosovars'. So Serbia is not then following the EU standard on Roma?
