To all who decided the time was right to turn a sensible exchange of opinions into an ugly example of racist and incomrehensible comments. Read my post more carefully. Did I, at any point, say that I would vote for anybody if evidence was presented to prove election fraud? Let me answer that for you just in case you choose to twist that comment also. No I didnt. However, did I comment that the image of this so called politician is one of a somewhat laughable character? Yes I did. Unfortunately, in politics, image and character are very important. He has a very poor image and something of a shallow character, in my opinion. I cited the "hunger strike" episode to support my opinion. Are you now going to tell me that you consider that to be the actions of a serious politician? With regard to election fraud. Both the OSCE and your own election commission have declared the elections to be fair and transparent and that ALL parties have accepted the results. I am merely stating an opinion based on what facts are known at present. Please do not fall into the trap of judging before you are in possesion of the facts. Heresay and third party gossip do not constitute facts. As for your English mother Albanian language comment.....well, I wont even grace that with a reply!

"I can't prove a damn thing but I mentioned the other day how Russia spent millions of dollars to combat election fraud and the EU/US were not happy with the results."

I can't prove a damn thing, but somehow, I have more trust in OSCE observers than in some allegations by an opposition party who didn't win elections. Well, they even won, but they claim they could have reached 15% more - something that would be in strong contrast to all number of pre-election polls that predicted a tight neck and neck race, just like it happened.

Anyway, these allegations should be investigated.

UK, 10 May : if anyone can imagine how this man will look when stood up against all the world leaders

We in Russia not only have enough imagination but we are also eager to see Nicolic at the head of Serbia. By our side nobody will dare to even try to twist Serbia’s hands any longer.

Andy UK, 10 May : The words of a desparate man who is unable to accept defeat.

Because there’s no doubts about the inevitable victory of Mr. Nicolic your comment are the real “ words of a desparate man who is unable to accept defeat”. Here’s the Pink Floyd for you :

“Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way
The time is gone, the song is over,
Thought I'd something more to say.”

You must be very English so please forgive them for their “desperation” for according to you it should be “desparation”. To say nothing of the identifying the “defeat” you are talking of. Maybe your English mother has taught you to speak only Albanian ?

Curious what this evidence been like. So far, there are no reports of major irregularities during the elections.

I can't prove a damn thing but I mentioned the other day how Russia spent millions of dollars to combat election fraud and the EU/US were not happy with the results. But as soon as a pro US/EU party in Serbia "wins" elections, spending most likely 1/10,000 of what Russia spent, everything is ok and no fraud took place? Really? Does that not seem fishy?

Evidence of election theft were presented an hour ago. In front of Serbian Assembly. If i'm the President of Serbia i would be really concerned about this situation. Votes were stolen from people and more than 1.5 million people are betrayed with this theft. A friend of mine use to said...Government that came by revolution can not be overthrown by election but only the same way. I'm afraid that presenting this evidence of theft, is just a beginning of much worse situation. People are not satisfied and keep calling each other for action. Democrats or whoever did this theft should be imprisoned.

@UK

And you would do this even if evidence is presented that he stole the elections?? Wow, your a real shining example of a Tadic supporter for sure.

The words of a desparate man who is unable to accept defeat.

I hope he has more dignity than to attempt another laughable hunger strike.

“I told them to prepare for it because even though the Serbian Progressive Party is my child, I wish to prove that I want to help all children in Serbia and the party should be prepared to work without me,” Nikolić noted.

He added that he had to resign from the party positions if he was elected president according to the Constitution.

So, in reality you dont want to prove any grand moral standpoint, its just that the Constitution requires this of you? Will you also refrain from your long and heroic hunger strikes? I wonder if anyone can imagine how this man will look when stood up against all the world leaders the President has to meet. If I was allowed to vote I think I would steer well clear of this man. Before even considering the policies I would choose Tadic for his statesmanlike demeanor and for his very positive representation of Serbia to the outside world. Just my opinion.
