I remember Veran Martic complaining about censorship.
Nevertheless, B92 does exactly the sane thing, censoring my comment on this story !
If there is still a journalist left at your news outlet, I would appreciate to be invited for to explain, why this "news" is a fake and why this project will NEVER happen in Serbia. I have the numbers, can put them on the table, and I'm willing to debate with whoever you wish, for to de-bunk this fake news !
Thank you !

This is the usual pre-election propaganda,
Be aware: this project will never happen !!!
My enterprise has been working on a similar project, for nearly a year, so I know about the numbers fairly well and would be more than wiling to put them on the table as soon as any "information outlet" would invite me to do so !
1) the volume of production is far beyond of what is actually authorized by the law on energy
2) if the law on energy just doesn't matter, one can ask himself why the government has signed a contact with this particular investment fund, instead of offering the same possibility to others as well.
Actual law on energy, makes it impossible to be sustainable, but at a higher scale, we could have been interested as well. Why don't we have the right to submit our bid?
3) Saying that solar energy output in Serbia is 40% higher than in other countries of south-eastern Europe is just not true !
It IS about 40% higher than in Germany, but lower than in Macedonia.
4) We're not talking about "solar panels" (producing hot water) but about a photovoltaic array, producing energy.
5) Production and sales do NOT, in anyway allow creation of 500 to 600 jobs ! Even though there is a need of workforce, for cleaning the panels, mowing the lawn, security, maintenance etc., we're very far from this number, which would be in no way, sustainable.
6) Export oriented? Yeah, we've explored that as well:
Italy on one side, for to acquire their "green certificates", but also, Macedonia, or Bulgaria which offered, at least until recently, interesting "feed-in tariffs"
Problem is, that those countries are not much reliable concerning price stability: For instance, Macedonia had a law on energy, fixing feed-in tariffs for the next 20 years at a very interesting price. Some years later, this price has been substantially lowered, and again lowered, once more, for to be today, more or less at the same level than in Serbia. Building this kind of photovoltaic array is a huge upfront investment. If your revenues don't have a minimum security, it would be suicidal to invest.
Etc., etc.
If somebody's really interested in a genuine debate, with concrete numbers, please let me know.
If not, it's just pre-election propaganda, om a project which will NEVER happen !!!

So many memorandums, IT park for 2500 workers in Indjia, from Indian investor. Solar power plant, and tons of others. Will see after elections...

Hey guys - I understand the cynicism but this is not such a bad story..if Serbia collects anywhere near the amount of tax they say it will generate and if this projects creates anywhere near the amount of jobs, election season or not, its a good thing.

Sounds very suspicious especially when Prime Minister Mirko Cvetković has something to do with it. The solar cells will not be even built in Serbia but imported. He said the company chose Serbia due to the fact its sun radiation exceeds that in other parts of South East Europe by around 40 percent, adding it was still looking for an exact location for the park. I think they meant 40% more depleted uranium radiation after NATO's bombing of Serbia. Sound like some one is blowing horse manure around and calling it the smell of money. Then again it is election time in Serbia and run off for President have to spread the BS to make Boris smell like a winner and his pal Mirko Cvetković. Serbia was also chosen because it has a serious industrial tradition, a highly qualified labor force and all levels of government were open to cooperation, he added. Ya sure I think another sucker is born every minute solar cell takes 4 years just to pay for it self last 20-25 year life. How much will it cost the ever poorer Serbian tax payer chasing another make believe fantasy.

They were considering building this park in kosovo*, but too many rock throwers, not good for solar panels.
