Two main parties punished in Greek elections

Seven parties, including three new ones, won more than three percent of the votes, which is enough to pass the threshold and get seats in the Greek parliament.

Right Ari, and my cat could graduate from Harvard if he were smart enough.

That depends on the cats color and if your cat is of a foreign breed or not. If the cat is local and white, then I agree that it's a little more difficult than other US colleges, but if you are a foreign cat,all you need to do is show up and pretend that you are trying--and after four years you are a Harvard graduate.
I bet you didn't know that,did you?

The only thing there is to look forward too is Serbia has a huge potential to be a country way ahead of its neighbors...that's only if it falls in the right hands.

This election turned out to be a referendum on the austerity agreements signed by the politicians of the two main parties and the Brussels appointed prime minister. It has also given a chance for voters to punish PASOK and the New Democracy Party for devising a political system based solely on clientilism ,patronage and corruption and for mishandling of the nations economy during the past four decades.

Greece has been on a death spiral since the austerity measure were introduced. This has led to a vicious circle of wage and pension cuts, rising taxes and rampant unemployment. These IMF/EU imposed measures won't work since the cure is killing the patient.

But the paradox in the Greek crisis is that the majority of the Greeks are still in favour of the single currency and staying within the EU.This is also the populist position of the radical left who were the main beneficiaries of the elections.

Greece cannot exit the financial crisis while still remains within the EU. Exiting the EU would allow Greece to nationalise its banks and impose capital controls and tariffs on foreign products to strengthen its indigenous industry. Rejecting globalism and embracing economic nationalism is the answer.

The Greeks are much more advanced as a society than Serbs are. We are worse off than Greece and yet vote for more of the same. At least Greeks realized there was need for some kind of change in the country even if they didn't exactly agree on which parties to lead the change. Greece's 2 biggest political parties from last election had 70% of the last electorate and only 30 now.

Obviously a fragmented and weak opposition and half of voters not casting a ballot has a lot to do with it. But the fact that Nedic-ista's (Otpor-istas) received 30% of the entire country shows there is still a big problem in Serbia.
