"If it is not legimate for Lagumdzija to note Turkey's position with regard to NATO membership why does Dodik say that the RS should be aware of Serbia's position?"

Ned Taylor,

One is guarantor of the Dayton peace Accords the other is not. Dodik has the same worrying view like the US embassy in Ankara, as seen in the wikileaks cables.

Is Serbia(your beloved country0 that is asking Turkey to invest in Serbia , rather than the other way around. I wonder who is the third world country in this case!?
(Agim Kelmendi, 5 May 2012 20:44)

I believe that Serbia is also asking China, Russia and other European countries to invest in projects or open businesses. The Germans are doing it and so are the Italians. If there are private investors in Turkey that can make a buck out of such an investment who am I to say no, but for anyone here to tell me that Turkey is not a third world country then here is the test – let the EU open its doors to Turkey and allow anyone to leave that wants to leave and you will see how many are left. In essence, outside of Ankara and Istanbul the rest is a horse and cart economy.
I have been both to Turkey and Serbia in the last 12 months and I can safely say that I have seen poverty in Serbia, but I have never seen in that country a horse drawn cart nor farmers using bullocks to plough fields or using animal power to spray orchards, but I have in Turkey.
Who knows maybe in 50 to 100 years time Turkey may return to being a power but not today or in the next four decades.

If Bosnia is deciding on its own why haven't they decided to recognize Kosovo? You know why? Because Republika Srpska says no. Bosnia is a dependant country, dependant on Republika Srpska.

Serbia talks with Russia and listens to their unsolicited remarks, why can't Bosnia consult with Turkey. Where is "Ron" to object to double standards.
(The Count of Kosova, 5 May 2012 18:15)

Well, here I am...

Turkey is free to talk with anyone in Bosnia. Turkey may even favor a change of Bosnia''s constitution.

However, such is decision can only be made by RS and Federation.
So: I got no problems with Turkey doing this. As long as Turkey stresses the fact to both Federation and RS must be OK with decisions regarding chaning Dayton.

So: no problem at all. If RS and Federation both want to change Dayton well then Dayton will be changed.

Ned Taylor

As Foreign Minister of Turkey, Mr Davutoglu would seem to have a legitimate interest in discussing issues of mutual concern with the Foreign Minister of BiH. It wouldn't be the same if Milorad went to Turkey and started to talk about the Kurds and their issues as he is not the Foreign Minister. I don't imagine that a)Dodik has any great desire to visit Turkey and b)that the Turks care very much what he thinks about the Kurds or any other issue. If it is not legimate for Lagumdzija to note Turkey's position with regard to NATO membership why does Dodik say that the RS should be aware of Serbia's position? Either outside countries have a right to an opinion about Bosnia's proposed membership or they do not. One cannot simply ignore a country because you don't like the people who live there. Personally I think that it is entirely reasonable for the people of the RS to express their views about NATO either through their elected representatives or in a referendum but the personal level to which Dodik sinks when talking about Turkey is beneath the dignity of a man who holds such a high office.

It's time both Serbia and Republika Srpska to send delegations to meet with Kurdish leaders in Turkey and suggest Turkey give them the right to self-determination. It sends a loud and clear message that two can play at this game, and will make them back off. You can bet a lot of politicians in the EU will catch-on to this idea. Over 20% of Turkey is Kurdish, without it Turkey will lose significance and be less of a threat.

Republic of Srpska (RS) President Milorad Dodik says Friday's talks of Turkish and Bosnian FM were an interference in the internal issues of Bosnia-Herzegovina.
B92

The hypocrisy is always there when Davutoglu talks about democracy in countries other than his own.Turkey is a country where Churches and Synagogues have been burnt and priests killed, where locals slit the throats of Christian missionaries and 75% of Muslim Turks refuse to have any neighbours of different religion. The Turkish government is also responsible for countless abuses of human rights, including the detention of children, and torture of journalists.

Davutoglu is interested about the rights of muslims in Bosnia but he keeps his mouth shut when it comes to occupation of Cyprus and the civil war against 20million of Turkey's Kurdish population.Since 1984, Turkish army has killed around 40,000 Kurds, torched or otherwise destroyed around 4,000 villages, and hundreds of thousands of people, maybe three million, have been displaced.Amazing how Turkey's occupation, mistreatment of Kurds and continued incursions into Iraq never grace the UN table or have resolutions condemning them.

Davutoglu talks about democracy as long at it serves the designs of neo-Ottoman political Islam. However,no matter how hard windbags Mullah Erdogan and Davutoglu Pasha try to satisfy their Western masters geopolitics in Middle East and the Balkans Turkey will always remain a third world country.
