"RIK Secretary Veljko Odalović said that the regularity of the electoral activities that the commission had been conducting in the entire Serbian territory had never been challenged before."

Well, and now those who are in charge in Kosovo (i.e. UNMIK) has decided to challenge it. Veljko can go and complain with the UNSC (UNMIK's superior) if he is not satisfied.
----------

"He said that RIK had asked the Serbian government to enable holding elections in Kosovo and Metohija in 2008"

That was asked at the wrong address... It's UNMIK that is in charge in Kosovo and enables or disables elections there. Some people appear to have forgotten that Resolution 1244 (the one which we're told guarantees that Kosovo is Serbia) is still in force...

roberto,

I believe NATO reinforcements are there to quell down the lawless northern part. I also believe that after election season is over those same NATO troops will be there in that area, mainly to assist Kosovo Army and KP ROSU dissolve terrorist structures ("parallel institutions").

Sincerely,

Gee, no statement added by B92 regarding the legality or Pristina's stance? What a surprise!

Government of Kosovo has ruled these elections illegal and stressed that it will use all means including violence to prevent them.
