Spain is one of very few countries that publishes it real level of unemployment and it stands at 25% with 50% between the ages of 16 and 30. Now I feel for these people and have a very high respect towards Spain for telling the truth. Serbia and the rest of the Balkans, except Kosovo Macedonia and Montenegro, have between 25% and 30% on average. Now if you find that Kosovo has less than 85% unemployment please tell me how Kosovo is so able to find work for its people? Now let’s say for argument sake that Kosovo has 2 million people and of that number about 1.2 are capable of working so in a comparable country of that size you would have a maximum of 200 000 state employees or about 10% of the population. Now we have accounted for 200 000 you still have 1 million left. Where is the industry to employ these people? Please feel free and tell me and I will accept that I am wrong. Yes a certain small number are employed in restaurants i.e. MacDonald’s or KFC or local restaurants, but Kosovo is not a tourist destination. Its youth or between ages 16 to 30 is anywhere between 70% and 80% alone. It well know that if releatives did not send money back it would be even worse than it already exists.
If you think that economic journals write about Kosovo then you are very much mistaken. They only write about countries of concern to their readers not about some little lump of dirt their taxes go to prop it up.
A trick used to lower levels of unemployment is to set the conditions to receive any social security benefits very high then you discount anyone who can be supported by family e.g. a man loses his job but has a son still working and is in the same household and all of a sudden the man is no longer counted as unemployed but no benefits same goes for a wife who worked and loses her job. In the US it is claimed that there is only 8.5% unemployed – if they had that they would be dancing in the streets and even their own economists agree that the real level is somewhere between 22% and 25% others disagree and claim its much higher but its masked by the various programs. An example if you lose your job and are paid under say a program that is supposed to retrain you for a new skill you are not counted as unemployed and therefore do not appear on the statistics. In Australia if you only work two hours per week, but you receive unemployment benefits you are counted as fully employed. How many people who had a job in a factory in Kosovo now work in fields with family members because they cannot find work elsewhere and are not counted as unemployed?
But if you see it differently please tell me what industries have opened their doors in Kosovo; even better tell me how Kosovo has managed to have only 45% unemployment despite having no industry. Please I await your response. I really am very interested.
I am not an economist, but you don’t have to be one to realise that two and two don’t make six and something is rotten.

Any time you see a photo of Albanian areas you always see Albanian flags.
So what are they there? Albanian or Kosovars?
The say they are Kosovars and need to be independent and yet fly Albanian flag and speak Albanian language.
Make up your minds. Are you Kosovars (a new race of people or the ones from Africa) or are you Albanian.

Legend has it that during the war between the Greeks and Troy in one battle the Gods took sides and Achilles was seated. When asked why he was not fighting he said when the Gods are at war mere men just look on. It’s something you should take heed and shut up instead of opening your mouth and putting your foot in it so often.
To appease you Kosovo has lots of industry and it has full employment, but here on earth it has 85% unemployment, but if you see it otherwise do tell us how it has managed to achieve something no other nation on this planet has been capable of doing.
This should be good for a laugh or two.

How long are you going to be repeating that ahtisari package plan? It's in the garbage of Putin a long time ago in case you forgot.
(Ratko, 26 April 2012 15:21)

Ratko,

Have you read the Ahtisari Plan? I guess not. Parliament in Kosovo has been approving laws to comply with this plan already. As for Putin no one really cares what he's got to say or even think.

Once the organised crime in Mitrovica is been sorted out, then Ahtisari's plan will go ahead, and entire territory of Kosovo will be under the law and order.

Anyway it would be very un-polite not letting you know where you can read it. Here is the link http://www.unosek.org/unosek/en/statusproposal.html.

You see unless President Tadic with his mysterious point plans this is clear, for everyone to see it.

Enjoy reading.

Correction: the article should read "No Solution for northern Kosovo by Albanians in Pristina". The international community plans to grant the north comprehensive autonomy in which local "parallel" institutions become the recognized ones within a larger role for EULEX. Pristina will continue to have no control up there. Kosovo will not be a "fully independent" state as the paper writes since EULEX and KFOR will remain. The only thing planned to leave is ICO.

What a load of horse manure. The so called internationals plan to Kosovo a “completely independent state”. To make a state completely independent it has to have sufficient water and mineral resources, it has to have its own income stream from manufacturing, mining, agriculture, tourism, sufficient energy to meet the daily requirements of its population and more importantly sufficient and cheap energy for its industries. Kosovo does not meet nay one of these requirements, NO ONE.
The internationals are talking crap of the highest order because they realize that a time bomb is ticking under their feet and is ready to explode since NOTHING has moved forward in Kosovo since 1999 despite western windbaggery of paving the streets of Pristina with gold. The west is broke and does not have the money nor resources to continue with this farce in Kosovo and it’s their nice way of saying like in 1974, Saigon Vietnam, the US Ambassador said “we will never desert our allies and will stand with them or go down fighting together…………” a short time later the US packed up and left.
This is western drivel of moving forward when you have not moved an inch from where you started. How many times in the past have they said Kosovo is independent???? How many? Now how are they going to make it even more independent? Kosovo cannot stand on its own two feet for one day without EU funds and a place like Slovenia is having serious problems because the EU has stopped giving financial assistance. On top of that the EU has deep financial problems that are far more pressing than Kosovo. One of two things will happen – the EU will pack up and leave and Pristine will collapse or it will keep the peacekeepers in Kosovo. To me its Saigon 1975 all over again. Ask Pristina to put on the interent the agreements signed with Belgrade if it’s not so.

Again typical behaviour of Albanian nationalists:

Yes we are for the Ahtissari plan, but when it comes to its implementation in Northern Mitrovica ,where it clearly states that there will be a Northern Mitrovica municipality(which is logical because Albanian nationalits in the South would use their postions in a "common" municipality to make life for Serbs in the north unbearable "Albanian style") they want now to drop North Mitrovica having its own municipality and therefore breaking the Ahtissari plan!

The West should pressure those Pristina gangsters excessevely, they now think that with the end of the international mission they will be allowed to do whatever they want!

Serbs having their own istitutions in NM,even within the temporary institutions of "Kosovo" is a question of life and death for the Serb population there,Serb politicians should recognize that!

History shows that Albanians never abide by any treaties, therefore Serbs need to be seperated from them institutionally!

Ok I accept that Kosovo only has 45% unemployment. But where are people employed? Please list the industries.
