very insightful analysis sj as always... it really pays off to have very informed sources like your Malaysian friend.

There was only one question I had... if Kosovo agrees to be in the same country with Serbia since it cannot survive as independent, how will poor Serbia help Kosovo survive if Serbia is already struggling for survival according to the link on the right labeled "Economic crisis in Serbia". Not sure if your well informed Malaysian friend missed that... I think a better solution is for Kosovo to become a province of that paradise called China

Answer the question. How is Kosovo going to survive on its own? Show me the business plan for Kosovo, where is this massive income coming from to run hospitals, schools, police, armed forces that you guys keep on threatening the Serbs with. As Jerry Maguire said, show me the money. You guys talk utter BS and bravado, but nothing of substance at all.

Serbia has a lot of economic problems and no one disputes that fact, but if you think the EU is out of the woods then you are dreaming my friend. The EU has done nothing to address the huge debt problem of EU countries it has only staved off a default by the Greeks to stop a collapse of the Euro, but all its done is moved the crises date a little further down the track – Greece is still there as is now Spain and the rest. We even now have a further downgrading of France – hello alarm bells are ringing. The EU is in a recession and guess what that will do to the US economy.

Just as the west didn’t give a hoot about Serbia in the 1990s why would they care about the Albanians in Kosovo in 2012? The EU expects Serbia to open industries to support the car manufacturing in Kragujevac such as manufacturing of small parts in Kosovo, other industry is supposed to follow, but if you see it differently please tell us all how Kosovo is going to survive without income.

You have a lot to learn about life. What is said and what is done are two very different things. What Belgrade tells everyone and what is does privately are so far apart it’s like heaven and earth.
Didn’t your negotiator openly say that during the negotiations with Belgrade if the Albanians did not sign what was put in front of them the entire “that means the west” international community will abandon you guys??????? This statement is just giving your rabble breathing room otherwise they will hang all of them for telling them lies and taking them on a road of deprivation and hurt only to come back to mother Serbia.
Don’t believe me just ask around how is Kosovo going to survive if there is no industry and no employment – you will be utterly horrified.
How are they going to survive when the EU is drastically cutting aid to Slovenia and we now see demonstrations against the austerity measures – the days of feasting and music has stopped and if the EU does not have the money for Slovenia, what chances does an independent Kosovo have???…??

Thanks for verifying what the Kosovar Albanians have been saying all along. "Who cares what Belgrade thinks". If its good enough for you to pick and choose then its good enough for Kosovar Albanians. Its amazing how when you think you're getting something "good" you tell everyone that their word is gods word, but then when they are not giving you what you want "who cares what Belgrade thinks". I say screw all of you and let yourselves fight amongst yourselves. That will help the Kosovars better then any gun or bomb. Serbs have traditionally been their own worst enemy. Its good to see it in action.

Very nice choice of words and I return the compliment.
You miss my point but then as usual you people don't care what that is and try to use my words to send your own message.

If Kosovo is still Serbia, then even if international occupation makes elections impossible, there should be some offer of representation from Belgrade to the Serbs of Kosovo. It is the Serbian people that make Kosovo Serbia, not some formal declaration in the constitution. And if those in Belgrade will not insist that the Serbs of Kosovo have some means of representation in Belgrade, then being Serb in Kosovo has no meaning to Belgrade. Since the Serbs in Kosovo organize for representation in Belgrade independently of Belgrade, then their respect for Kosovo as Serbia is worth more than anything Belgrade can show.

UNSC Resolution 1244 stipulates that elections must be held on conjunction with UNMIK. The government CAN'T recognize the elections if it wants its position to be legitimate. Going against 1244 only weakens Serbia's position. The United States and Germany are already trying to paint 1244 as obsolete, so don't give them further reason to try.

The State Secretary for the Ministry for Kosovo Oliver Ivanovic should not use the Word Belgrade, because the Correct Title for that City is Berlin.

Perhaps we should call the State Secretary for the Ministry for Kosovo Olli Ivanovic after Olli Rehn, who is obedient to the Dictates of Berlin.

It can only become Belgrade against after the Serbian Voters elect a Proper Government, and it can be correctly referred to as Bergrade until then, which is a combination of Berlin and Belgrade.

It is a mystery to Inanovic why People would want Democracy and Elections, and I guess that explains it all, and some of the Municipalities have been bullied by Bergrade not to declare that they want Democracy and Elections.

The Official appointed by Bergrade said that those reasons are above all personal or related to their Political Parties, and this is because there are Political Parties in Serbia who believe in and promote Democracy, but it is obviously not Tadic and the DS.

Olli Ivanovic said that Democracy and Elections would also put the people in those Municipalities in a very delicate position, because once the vote is over, it will be recorded that the people did not work with Bergrade.

Olli Ivanovic says that it will affect the attitude of future Government regardless of who wind the Elections, but he should not speak for the SRS, the DSS, or the SNS, because he speaks for the Bergrade Regime.

EU/USA slap slap slap slap they knew this for months jsut went through motions to show we have no solution :) They already know what solution is :

Serbia relation with Kosovo like 2 German states in (50s to 90) no recognitions but no interruptions either.

North of Kosovo / slowly painfully integrated to North 1 year not much will happen then slowly border will be closed no smuggling ( no more BG apartments for select few from Kosovo) some arrest after year 2 of Criminals lots of cash from all sides 40K people there not like you have 4million.

This is nothing to do with power of any side this is what the Big powers have decided and it will be Serbs/Albanins you will swallow your pride and move on.
