very insightful analysis sj as always... it really pays off to have very informed sources like your Malaysian friend.
There was only one question I had... if Kosovo agrees to be in the same country with Serbia since it cannot survive as independent, how will poor Serbia help Kosovo survive if Serbia is already struggling for survival according to the link on the right labeled "Economic crisis in Serbia". Not sure if your well informed Malaysian friend missed that... I think a better solution is for Kosovo to become a province of that paradise called China

Answer the question. How is Kosovo going to survive on its own? Show me the business plan for Kosovo, where is this massive income coming from to run hospitals, schools, police, armed forces that you guys keep on threatening the Serbs with. As Jerry Maguire said, show me the money. You guys talk utter BS and bravado, but nothing of substance at all.
Serbia has a lot of economic problems and no one disputes that fact, but if you think the EU is out of the woods then you are dreaming my friend. The EU has done nothing to address the huge debt problem of EU countries it has only staved off a default by the Greeks to stop a collapse of the Euro, but all its done is moved the crises date a little further down the track – Greece is still there as is now Spain and the rest. We even now have a further downgrading of France – hello alarm bells are ringing. The EU is in a recession and guess what that will do to the US economy.
Just as the west didn’t give a hoot about Serbia in the 1990s why would they care about the Albanians in Kosovo in 2012? The EU expects Serbia to open industries to support the car manufacturing in Kragujevac such as manufacturing of small parts in Kosovo, other industry is supposed to follow, but if you see it differently please tell us all how Kosovo is going to survive without income.
