I find it interesting when people like Nikole justify Croat brutality and ethnic cleansing by Croats against Serbs by saying that Serbs didn't want to live in an independent Croatia so they took up arms and were 'egged on' by the clergy. How hypocritical! I guess it's OK for the Croats to take up arms because they didn't want to live in Yugoslavia. At least the Serbs had justification for not wanting to live in an independent Croatia. Let's see, 750,000 Serbs killed at the Jasenovac death camp during WWII, Serbs converted to Catholicism 'egged on by their clergy', Croatian Ustasha siding with the Nazis, Serbs ethnically cleansed from their homes, etc. Fast forward to 1991, Croats break the Yugoslav constitution and international law by breaking away and forcing Serbs to live in a hostile environment where streets were named after Ustasha war criminals. And now Dick Marty, from the European Council ruled that the Croatian Gov't. under Franjo Tundjman was a criminal enterprise. Ask yourself again, why Serbs would ever want to live in such a state? Wow, those civilized, westernized Croats are sure ready for the EU. What a joke!

Is the Krajina deserted or have Germans and Austrians moved in to make it their weekend retreat?
(Michael Thomas, 20 April 2012 17:08)

Krajina is 200% full, horribly over-populated. Croats, Serbs, Germans, Austrians and few retirees from USA are fighting each other for the last square inch. Because of the over-populationthe people who live there have under-developed kidneys and there are no parking lots in Krajina for stolen Mercedes cars and donkeys.

NEVER EVER say about even a halfway decent area to be "deserted" unless you care to accommodate a legion of losers the next day. Each of them plans to have 30 children and put all of them on the state welfare. They have fun shooting each other in a blood feund. They live from selling drugs, black-market organ trade, donations from abroad and white slavery. In their spare time they enjoy beating their wives and children. So think twice what you talk about.

Jason... very smart remark. Even all those so called "fake, unverified" numbers are by any means lower than the number of Serbs that were murdered in Croat concentration camps in WWII, such as Jasenovac. So probably a good idea when you reach back to comment, you look at the big picture. Every action has a reaction. YOu must be one of those CNN watchers..with zero knowledge. Dont forget Krajina's Serbs were forced out.. flooded the roads with only what they could take. Wonder if the Serbs did that in Kosovo what would've happened.

Jason, youre better off commenting on the weather than making yourself look silly and one sided.

Nikolle,

You just made the Serbs point about albanians in kosovo*. However when the Serb army did what the Croat army did, NATO got involved. They truth is starting to come out.

(Michael Thomas, 20 April 2012 17:08)

No, the Germans and Austrians are buying up property along the Dalmatian coast, raising the prices for home ownership and forcing many Croats into former Krajina to live. Croats work as workers on German and Austrian run beaches.

Does anyone live in the Krajina region today?

I travelled through the Krajina in the 1980s and saw many empty villages. These were Serbian settlements destroyed by Croats during WW2. There were also Serbian and Croat villages along the road, but not many. Now the remaining Serbian villages are empty and the Croat villages have lost all their young people to the cities and abroad.

Is the Krajina deserted or have Germans and Austrians moved in to make it their weekend retreat?

They did not wish to be part of independent Croatia and took to arms (egged on by Serb Orthodox Priests) to usurp part of Croat territory and annex it to Serbia.
(Nikolle)

Hmmm, is it a fault to not wish to be part of original country and take arms to usurp part of the country's territory?

663 victims?

This is considerably low when compared to the tens of thousands of civilians that were killed by Serbs in Sarajevo, Srebrenica, Vukovar, and Dubrovnik alone.

Nothing is forgotten nor forgiven!
Once we Serbs solve the Kosovo problem the issue of Krajina will be reponened.

Serbian Dalmatia,Serbian Kordun,Serbian Banija and Serbian Slavonia will be liberated one day!

In the meantime Serbs from Croatia should resettle into the RS so we Serbs become the absolute majority in Bosnia!

Let us not beat about the bush. Serb Croats brought their fate on themselves. They did not wish to be part of independent Croatia and took to arms (egged on by Serb Orthodox Priests) to usurp part of Croat territory and annex it to Serbia. Hence you had the Republic of Banja Luka. You should see the demographics of that Republic and view how Croats were mass expelled from the domain of that creation. I feel sorry for the children of Krajina, who are indeed blameless and innocent in all this, but the adults who enthusiastically embraced calls to fight Croatia, I have ZERO sympathy for them.

No one had thought that after nazi past Croatia had, they will use same methods again, discrimination and bulling is one thing, but executions of whole families because of their nationality is another. One of examples is murder of 12 year old girl Aleksandra Zec, she was handcuffed and shot with her mother. There is evidence of this crime and pictures. Also killing of inocent serb civilians in Vukovar happened even before war in 1991. Reason why this crimes were unpunished were politics, and heavy propaganda in Croatia.
