I have been to Croatia a few times recently, but I have never been to your Croatia; you know the one next to Gondor and Rohan. All of that equipment is not Croatian – it is being manufacture UNDER A LICENCE where you have to pay heavy royalties or the Croatian companies are 60% owned by the companies that hold paten rights.

When I said 30% unemployment I was being kind mate.

You need a reailty check or take more pills.

I'm not saying everything is peachy here but we are working on it in this recession but its no where gloomy as you portray and project it [link] . As for Montenegro you Serbs and Albanians don't like it when Montenegro is moving forward always try to put it down and hope it fails. Also from getting help in any way from Croatia gee you guys have something in common who would of known. As for the helmets, uniforms, guns manufactured they are all Croatian company's [link]/ . The Russians want us to build a joint factory in Russia and supply their armed forces with different combat helmets as they are excellent quality known world wide exported to over 40 country's and growing. Croatia made a deal with Saudi Arabia to supply in first part of the contract 120,000 combat gear uniforms head to tow to its armed forces. As you can see the Croatian forces are supplied with head to tow and armoured vests guns etc made in Croatia [link] .

Lenard - I never once said anything bad about Croatia. You misread something obviously. Croatia is ok in my book.

First of all the helmets and uniforms are not designed in Croatia but made under licence but If you guys sell 500 million Euros worth of military hardware each year and tourism is such a success – last time I read it was a 7 to 8 billion Euros a year earner - then why is there 30% unemployment in Croatia?

Me thinks that the only thing coming out of Croatia is BS of the greatest order so what does that make you?

It is not my intention to critise any of these countries as life is hard enough for the ordinary people there, and you live the way you know and can afford, but what some hardliners, such as Lenard, try and paint this tourism industry in Croatia as something unique as if it’s a gift from the gods and billions fall out of the sky.
Even a place like Croatia which has borrowed and spent vast sums constructing road ways to bring more tourists to the seaside, has found out that tourism can be a very mean lady in that the GFC has caused its collapse worldwide and even after 5 years it has not recovered.
Every tourist nation suffers from this decline with no end in sight and then to claim that Croatia is so successful with attracting tourism, well is hard for me accept. You only have to ask the question – if Croatia’s income is largely from visitors then what happens when the last 5 years are bad? Where does the money come from to pay the government workers, pensions, schools, hospitals and so on during that time?

Its amazing how places like Croatia, Slovenia and Montenegro are beacons of success but no one knows what they produce to keep this high lifestyle going.

There is an old saying that goes like – BS baffles brains.
(sj, 19 April 2012 01:53)

I am not here to judge Montenegrins - Serbs - Bosnians - Croats - Slovenes, all I can tell you that if you drive around Porec or Kotor or Kraljevo - than your misfortune guides you into Pogradec in Albania - you would think you got into a time machine and it went in a completely wrong direction.

I can't even say, Albania is that much cheaper for the tourist as Croatia or Srbija, but the infrastructure is day and night. So if it's 30% cheaper but the infrastructure is 80% worse - than IMO, this is a lousy deal for a tourist and is recommended for the hard-core adventurers only.

Now if you add the language barrier, that makes it even worse.

It is very easy:

Lenard is a "proud Croat" but of course living in the dispora...
His rants are mostly wishful thinking,Croatias public debt is over 85% of its GDP (65 billion dollars for a nation of 4 million) and its economy based on indebting and spending on foreign products is going to implode!

Serbia had a growth rate of 2,6% in 2011 while Croatia was exactly at 0%,the Croatian economy hasn`t gotten out of the recession for 3 years now while Serbia achieved that in 2010!
And now with FIAT in Kragujevac producing 300000 vehicles a year this will generate some 6-7 billions dollars worth of export for the Serbian economy,I think that we will have even with this bad DS government a growth rate well above 3% in the next years,if SNS comes to power and introduces reforms like they said it is going to grow much faster!

And dont forget one thing:with Croatia joining EU in 2013 I expect hundred of thousands of young Croats leaving Croatia (mostly educated people) which will have a devastating impact on its economy!
Who is going to pay the debts?Maybe the retirees?

That is why I oppose Serbia getting a member of EU,we must employ our people here and bring our house in order, not send them to Western Europe from where they never ever will return!

What money? A few tycoons you have don't travel by train, and the rest of you are dirt poor, so much that we can buy 2000 of you with our lunch money. You think Venice is desperate for tourists?
(veneto, 18 April 2012 22:10)
Very amusing Italian arrogance yes Veneto Venezia is desperate for tourist as the rest of Italy before it goes completely broke and belly up.
(Lenard, 19 April 2012 07:49)

ROFL - yeah, just get a laugh you too, Lenard - that Tiranasaurus has as much to do with Veneto as his kin with "Illyrians". If you go 500 years back, the "Illyrians" was an acronyme for Croatians, Serbs, Bosnians - even Glagolica was called "Illyrian writing"

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glagolitic_alphabet

see: "Some other, rarer, names for this alphabet are Bukvitsa (from common Slavic word 'bukva' meaning 'letter', and a suffix '-itsa') and Illyrian."

You can see Glagolitic writings on many medieval frescoes, for instance here:

http://www.sacred-destinations.com/croatia/beram-church-of-st-mary.htm

Albanians did show up roughly at that time and the churches sponsored by Musaka lord appeared near Kastoria, modern-day Greece. They used Greek letters, not the "Illyrian" script, of course.

Istrians, Dalmatians were infamous sea pirates, like Illyrians thousand and half years earlier. Albanians not only did not know anything about High Seas - their first pirate base was Ulcinj and not earlier than 18th century. Albanans on either side of the Ottoman Greek/Serbian/Venetian/etc. conflict eagerly accepted military carrier but if they had to make their feet wet in the sea, they learned from Greeks, Dalmatians, Venetians, not the other way. Kind of odd, they forgot all the pirate and navy know-how what they knew in the past, maybe because Illyrians were somewhere under the Earth surface in hiding for 1000 years. Get real, at best maybe *** some *** genes got their way high into mountains where these little "island" tribes lived since ever (Albanians) - but they have no right to usurpe all Illyrian legacy for themself.

Montenegro vs nato are so incompatible that chances are just about zero (0)for Montenegro to join nato alliance any time soon.Simply, without going in further details nato is too expensive for small country of 600,000 inhabitants.Further more (unless nato change its rules)Montenegro
could never get two third majority of its people to join alliance.NATO was created by USA to defend Western Countries from supposedly Russian invasion.Since that never took place and cold war ended, nato military effectivness was never tested. However, they showed how good they are in Balkans,Iraq Afghanistan,Lybia and potentially in some more of the poorest Countries of our Planet yet to come.NATO fights civil wars in the poor countries from the cockpits of their high performance aircrafts killing scores of civilians, women, children and old people,All justifiable under term used COLLATERAL DAMAGE.However,as a foot soldiers they are poor fighters and thats where nato needs help.

(veneto, 18 April 2012 22:10) Very amusing Italian arrogance yes Veneto Venezia is desperate for tourist as the rest of Italy before it goes completely broke and belly up. Maybe then you can convert back to the lira where a million and billion lira was still a big fat zero of nothing. At least you could rip off the tourist confuse them with the lira with all the zeros. Then short change them in the mafioso tourist traps and pretend to be the "big" men. If you compare Croatia and Italy by size and populations as being equal Croatia beats Italy easily by 230% in tourist numbers. Also by money generated from tourism and keeps ever growing. Last year Croatia had a whopping 12% increase in tourism the best of Europe could do is 3% and definitely it was not Italy the 3% it is sliding ever backwards. Even Italians more and more are vacationing in Croatia http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8hCazYqft-Y&feature=related . The "rich" Italians like in the last century Italy exported them by the 10's of millions who ever would have them. They sure made names for them self's and not good names in many ways in their new country's.

Just calm down, Beardy Baldy Mary - if the Russians are dirt-poor, their kidneys are underdeveloped and only second-grade merchandise. And there are only few donkeys in Croatia and Italy. This topic is not for you.

If you get a well-paid job (begging Russians on Greek beach for money singing and showing them your donkey), you will get some change and buy your own computer one day. Don't worry if as in the clip you can't distinguish between Russians and Americans - Russian people don't bite and are generous if they see an exotic, nice-looking donkey

Slow down Dragon I didn't read anywhere that NATO was going to "rape" and "Pillage" Montenegro. That's YOUR commentary. I agree with the spokesman saying that Russia needs to be out of the picture for Montenegro to join NATO. Think about it, Montenegro wants to join NATO, why does it not make sense that NATO would tell Montenegro what they have to do to join? NATO was specifically created to protect against Russia so its not earth shattering news that NATO would request for Montenegro to get rid of Russia. You manipulate the request with backwards logic about "raping" and "pillaging", but fail to point out the fact that NATO Montenegro is the country asking to join NATO. Just like anything else in life, when you want something, there are certain conditions that need to be met to achieve those goals. If you don't want to meet certain standards then you don't have to join. Nobody is putting a gun to your head. Anyway, the Russians have done nothing but cause trouble in Montenegro. Their shady businessmen and mafia and criminals all bought land in Montenegro and engage in criminal business. Its the Russians that are taking away Montenegro's resources and not putting one red cent in the pockets of the locals. Why would anybody want that? The citizens aren't benefiting from it. Why doesn't Serbia just hand over the keys to Russia if Russia is some amazing country that helps Serbia? Nobody is that stupid to trust Russians. Montenegro is going in the direction that EVERY Serbian WISHES Serbia would go. Don't be jealous that a country of 600,000 people is a lot better off then your beloved country of Serbia. Don't be jealous that Montenegrin's have progressed so much more then Serbia has since their independence. Serbia's future is to the East and Montenegro's is to the West. And you don't represent even a minority of Montenegrin's when you speak on their behalf. Montenegrin's love the West and they love Europe. That's a fact !

"In other words, get rid of Russian investment and influence in Montenegro, and let the NATO war criminals take over, to rape and pillage the people and resources - Dragon"

So take your West hating, Europe hating, USA hating, Montenegrin hating self back to Mother Russia where you belong obviously.

The US managed to turn Serb against Serb (Montenegrians). They managed to cause riffs between the Serbian and Montenegrian Orthodox churches (as if there are any differences). All in all, there is animosity between two brothers. Being a Serb, I wish Montenegro farewell. Go with Djukanovic and the US. Go fight a US war. Join the muslims and create a greater Albania, because afterall, you have recognized Kosovo. Like the price Macedonia is paying now, it will be Montenegro's turn.

Pray tells us what does Montenegro make or do that gives it this superior lifestyle that you speak of so glowingly? Diplomats in the capital will tell you off the record that its equivalent to third world conditions with power being interrupted frequently and the variety of food limited and expensive.

In addition, about 2 years ago a Montenegro TV program cited that about 80% of the population lives on or below the poverty line – Kosovo is worse but it has democracy and freedom to keep it warm and happy.

I adore this perception that only the evil Ruskies take away all the resources while the good west leave riches to the locals, but perhaps let us also know what has the west brought to Kosova – where is the new industry, jobs and wealth?
