The only way Serbia is going to get out of the economic crisis is by moving towards a market socialist economy like the one we had under Tito.

The current system is the problem not whether we join the EU

How utterly ironic.
Who supports an SRS victory in Serbia - the right wing nationalist nut cases inside Serbia
Who supports an SRS victory in Serbia - ALL of Serbias enemies outside Serbia

The whole thing is becoming comical.

Come and join EU,we Romanian and Bulgarian are living almost two years under Eu rules and what we saw is only higher prices, plus they point at us as guilty for everyrthing bad for the west.We are the negers for them.So why not join us let them blame you too.

This is of course true, there may be some token EU countries which don't recognize Kosovo, but this is irrelevant as the most powerful and dominant EU countries do. However putting the issue of the Kosovo aside for a moment and looking at the economic argument, then this is also true. The EU (if Serbia ever joins) will take complete economic control of the country, and Serbia will at a later stage be forced to join the Euro, which Serbia cannot control. There will be increased pressure for domestic industries to be sold abroad meaning the wealth generated won't stay in Serbia. Employers such as Zastava Arms will be eventually shut down thus forcing people into unemployment with no backup. The list goes on.

He added that "stories about the good life in the EU are a myth" and that Serbia should be led by people "who have been consistent".

If stories about good life in the EU are a myth, then stories about the 'prospering Russia' and the good life there are an absurd fairytale - except for the usual privileged people who are good friends with the current government.

Consistent means: Sticking to the very same things in a changing environment. Smart people recognize when some changes are needed, if you don't adapt, you are doomed, in the long term.

Too true. Since this "No alternative to EU" government have taken the reins, the economic situation in Serbia has taken a turn for the worst, which includes our debt levels.

On the other hand, those countries that have aligned themselves with the BRICS continue to prosper.
