In heaven their wont be Orthodox section ,Roman Catholic section ,Lutheran section etc all the schisms. Only one people those redeemed in Jesus that believe on him and his atoning blood sacrifice of his perfect life for all the sinners which everyone is. As the living God for the individual soul that excepted Jesus and his finished work on the cross to take away all our sins as far as the East is from the West.
If you think about it seriously, it is a very strange concept that someone should have to die for the reasons generally stated.
The concept of sacrifice is now generally redundant - were Gods really pleased when someone killed a chicken or a goat? Priests got fed as a result of the process of course.
We do not see the hand of God in this violent and evolved world, but we do see priests over-dressed in eye catching costumes.
Did this distant God who we never see really make his most significant contact with humanity through the symbolism of an argument with his son which necessitated torture and death prior to a mystical return to a place outside of the universe we know?
I was bought up to love Christ for the fact that what he did was for the love of us. That idea I can respect and honor at Easter - even though the rest of the basis of religious belief fails totally to live up to intelligent scrutiny.
Yes HAPPY EASTER to all Orthodox Christians today. For all Roman Chatolics and other Christians, Easter was celebrated last Sunday. "Jesus is risen"....... We all have the same believes but why to much unessary hate among citizens of same nation/s?...."Indeed he has risen for ALL of us"
