Nikolic is being overly emotional. Maybe he will feel better in the summer. Tadic had the courage to put your country in the right path. He did a lot of work and still is very modest. It's all up to Serbs, we will see.

Danilo,

No rather I put you in that category not to insult you, rather to bind you with a group of people which are extremely pretentious and place yourselves on a high horse because of the fact that you may (or indeed may not) have studied some liberal pieces of writing, and hence think of yourselves as on top of the world, while looking down at anyone who isn't a 'modern liberal'. I am just intrigued as to where you have got that stance from, did you grow up perhaps in the west somewhere? or read some silly books?

SPC UK,

I find it interesting that, on a number of occasions, you've used "philosophical (sic) faculty" as some sort of insult. I don't really understand it. I've never understood 'philosophy student' to be some sort of insult. is it?

I don't actually have any "buddies" from the philosophy department, so it doesn't have much traction, but I am confused. Since philosophy is a field of thinking, might you be suggesting, however inadvertently, that nationalism is the opposite of reflection?

You haven't been in Serbia long. Anytime any nationalist or populist part has a rally in any city in Serbia for SNS or SRS or Kosovo or Seselj, they bus in convoys of villagers. Otherwise, there's be no rally
(Danilo, 6 April 2012 09:23)

Good old traditions inherited from Milosevic (and the communism times before). These traditions are still present in Russia, but there, the buses are usually filled with employees of state-owned companies who even get a day off for participating in these rallies.

I wouldn't agree at all Danilo. Areas like Novi Beograd, Batajnica, Pazova and Banovci are socially pretty nationalist in spirit, ok that may not be central Belgrade where you and your buddies from the philosophical faculty hang out, but they are more or less the suburbs, but dont think for a second that only Belgrade is Serbia. You remind me of British middle-class liberals in Britain, who in their little sects in some places of London, seem to think of their political opinions a million times more superior than everywhere else.

I watched an SNS rally today in Novi Sad, and man, it was pathetic. They bused in people from all over Serbia, just to drive up attendance - actually, these bused in were the only attendees, no one from Vojvodina cared. Someone put up a placard saying that Nikolic sold out Seselj, and the sign was promptly taken down by Toma's goons. So much for democracy and freedom of speech. That action, was proof to me of what this guy is all about. He is playing on the hearts and minds of Serbia's down trodden, but he is such an obvious fake, that it boggle's my mind that anyone would ever consider such a man to lead Serbia. Remember that hunger strike? That said it all.
