Could it be that those in power always do the minimum required and feel no responsibility towards the people?

Yes, but why do you think the others are opening all their files? How many are destroyed? Why do you assume that the others are more honest?

" Ida,

Of course Alija would agree to allow the HV into BiH. He had a military alliance with the Bosnian Croats, who only made up about 17% of the BiH population. How were the poorly armed Bosnian Muslims and Croats to stand any kind of a chance against the heavily armed VRS, who enjoyed full backing of the VJ at the start of the war? "
===============================

Poorly armed Nenad? Croats were preparing for this long before they decided to secede. What about all those arms the were smuggling through Hungarian border?
What about the supplies and men power the Muslims were getting from the west and also from their Arab brothers?
The west helped in every way possible and you know it.
Don't give me this poorly armed rubbish. Next you would say that they only had slingshots.
Some alliance the Croats and Muslims had. There was a lot of bloodshed between Croats and Muslims too. What about the Croats asking for and received safe passage through Serbian territory while fleeing from the Muslims? What about Serbs looking after wounded Croats at times?
It was a mess. There were Muslims in the Serbian forces and there were Serbs in the Muslim forces.
It was a civil war, they were all armed and they all received help from outside so nobody had any real advantage.

Ida,

Of course Alija would agree to allow the HV into BiH. He had a military alliance with the Bosnian Croats, who only made up about 17% of the BiH population. How were the poorly armed Bosnian Muslims and Croats to stand any kind of a chance against the heavily armed VRS, who enjoyed full backing of the VJ at the start of the war? I don't claim to know what Alija's long-term strategy was in April 1992 but it could be that he was counting on a cessation of hostilities and international recognization after a few months. Maybe he had hoped that a temporary alliance with Tudjman would hold off Milosevic just long enough to allow for a settlement that preserved BiH. I think he must have known Tudjman's intentions in BiH but hoped that the international community wouldn't allow these to come to fruition. And I can only guess that, for his part, Tudjman knew better than to expose himself as an aggressor when the war began. I think there were a lot of smoke and mirrors when Yugoslavia came undone and that things weren't often what they seemed.

Nenad you leave out that Tudjman also had deals with Alija Izetbegovic to allow the Croatian army into Bosnia, and it was killing Serbs and setting up concentration camps and torture prisons right off the bat. Croatia was never sanctioned despite having entire brigades from Croatia stationed in Bosnia throughout the war and even after Dayton, according to an SFOR officer who was there in the years right after the war ended.

That Croatian army woman, Azra Basic, was part of a Croatian army unit which attacked Serbian villages and rounded up the civilians on Easter 1992 - so very early in the war. She is accused of "working" at three of the torture camps for Serb civilians - and this was deep in Bosnia far from Croatia's border.

Izetbegovic internationalized it from the start allowing Croatia to send its army in, Serbia/Yugoslavia had a right to counter this but the international community heavily pressured them to leave.

Out of curiosity, does Serbia hold all the Yugoslav files? It would be interesting to see some information on Krunoslav Draganovic & the Yugoslavian Space Program

Fabricated propaganda? I suggest that before worrying about such possibilities, you first deal with such matters as this...

Isn't it time for the USA, Germany, Great Britain, etal., to open up their secret files too, so that we can see all the fabricated propaganda they spread prior to the illegal bombing of the former Yugoslavia. What's right for the goose . . .

Nenad

pre 12 godina

I'm not optimistic that all files would be turned over, as I would imagine that many could be quite damning to both the former regime and those still in government today. The secret services were deeply involved in the wars and widely suspected of such crimes as carrying out murders of journalists and political opponents, so there's no doubt much to hide.

Why do we in Serbia need somebody to 'crack the whip' in order for us to do something that is needed anyway?

Could it be that those in power always do the minimum required and feel no responsibility towards the people?

After 11 years of the OPTOR crowd in power, the Elections are an Opportunistic way to win the next Election by changing those files and having People lie for Money, in order to make the Optor Crowd look good, and to make the Opposition look bad.

The NATO Countries should open their Secret Files that they are War Criminals, and that they Deliberately Conspired against Serbia.

We know that America is Bankrupt, but they can Print Money, and The European Union can do the same, and the Serbs and the Albanians should blackmail NATO Countries for Big Money to keep their Dirty Secrets.

I think that 76 Billion Euros would be a good figure to prove that different races could live together in the same Country.
