Russia supporting Assad by sending more weapons is surely not helpful for the settlement of the Syrian problem. Turkey as a neighbor already has to suffer from 10,000s of refugees fleeing Syria and the violence committed Assad's soldiers, just like the European countries had to grant asylum to 10,000s of refugees from ex-YU trying to escape the Milosevic troops.

Now that it has agreed to install the anti-Iran radar Turkey has to face the fast growing unity of the 3 Shia countries including Iraq whose religious leaders live in Iran while the PM Alawi feels the increasing sympathy for Iran too. Altogether the population of Syria , Iran and Iraq is close to 130 millions plus they also enjoy the sympathy of millions in other Muslim countries. Pakistan is ready to revenge for Ben Laden threatening to use nukes against Israel. The radicalization of the situation puts Turkey in an even more difficult situation.
So Erdogan went to Iran and met Larijani to secure it’s rear side. Only Syria and Iran and Iraq can support Turkey from inevitable Southern Kurdistan to be declared soon. It supposes the Northern and the Eastern and the Western Kurdistan to exist as well. Thus sooner or later Turkey’s population will become 55 millions instead of 70. And if Great Kurdistan is realized they will have a neighboring 50 million country to remember the Turks their crimes during the last 2-3 centuries. In such developments only Iran , Iraq and Syria are natural allies. So the Turkish hawk (the English for “erdogan”) is flying the wrong directions like Seoul and making the wrong statements like the one discussed. Especially now that it’s already clear that the Assads are to stay.
