China shuts social media sites after coup rumors

No dictatorship lasts forever. The political instability of the central government will eventually become a liability. Currently, it can survive because of economic growth, but that is not something infinite. In fact, we have already several local uprisings in China and I'm not talking about Xinxiang or Tibet. There are many workers and peasants in whole China stating their protest. Once the growth will halt, the powder barrel will explode. It is only a matter of time.

I was in China recently and I could see happy people on the streets and a lot of positive energy everywhere. China has nothing to worry about, this is just West's wishful thinking.

As sj has so many times pointed out, China has become the land of enchantment that he wants all Serbs to run to. This is your future. Try saying something negative about the govt leaders when you become Chinese, or Russian. Remember opposition in Russia are all guilty of some sort of crimes that land them in prison.

Can you provide credible proof to substantiate your claims that there were "several local uprisings in China and I'm not talking about Xinxiang or Tibet"?

Can you also provide evidence your claim about the "politcal instability of the central governments"? Because it seems to me that a sole party in parliamemnt should be more stable given the lack of opposition in office, right? They don't, for example, have to worry about a vote of no confidence in parliament that would require them to call for new elections.

Read up on the laws enacted in the US especially those dealing with terrorism or should I say those that applies to terrorists and ordinary people – that is assuming you can read. You’re just too dumb to understand the difference. Brainwashing has certainly worked on you. You would live in poverty and sleep under a bridge as long and you were in the west.

But here is a test for you. Try and destabilise the US government and see how tolerant and democratic they become. That is what you people are talking about, but it matter little as you will get that experience very soon as life becomes more and more difficult as the sunami of debt takes a hold and then watch how your freedoms disappear.

China has more than 350 million middle class and is changing from rural to urban at a colossal rate. The only people who wear those Mao suits old people are in rural areas.

Go over there and see for yourself.

It is being transformed into a modern country. And no they do not just smile to keep the regime happy. There have been plenty of demonstrations against the government over many issues, but I suppose the freedom loving western press does not like to cover that part as it spoils the story of evil Chinese.
