I always love it when Albanians in Kosovo talk about "illegal" things when half their leadership has arrest warrants on them if they leave that multiethnic paradise :)
(Balkan Anthropologist, 31 March 2012 16:54)
And of all those many arrest warrants (issued by SErbia) how many have been honored by other countries. I think everyone issued has been negated by Interpol hasn't it? The one incident a few years back where CEKU was detained for a few hours and then subsequently released as the warrant from Serbia was deemed an invalid political charade. I wouldnt use that is any arguments if I were you, it only points out the reputation of the Serbia judicial system in the world arena.

Straight and to the point - I have nothing more to add except one thing, this is really getting boring, and pointless. Wouldn't Pristina's money be better spent trying to raise the Albanians out of poverty?

Could not the same be said for Serbia, I mean really for all the dollars spent, all the time and energy that occupies Serbian politicians every single day. The countless millions spent by Jeremic to travel the world and talk about keeping Kosovo oppressed. What will ever be the reward. So that Serbs can say that "Kosovo is Serbia in name only" That is the maximum you could logically hope for. I really don't believe it is about that. It boils down to one think Serbs have to say they beat the Albanians, you don't have to win anything just to "show the Albanians" Serbia has a ton of unused potential, can you imagine where it could be in 10 years if all the energy used to "show" the Albanians were used to advance the Serbs. But this is a useless argument because if I have learned one thing about the balkans it is pride above anything else. You cannot exist thinking you are equals, "we are superior and you must admit it".
The one thing about the Albanians fight is they are fighting for their future, and that means freeing the last bonds of Serbia, Serbia is fighting for the past, something that can never be changed.

A lot of you serbs have raised the question that belgrade should do the same....I have a newsflash for you, they've been doing this for over thirteen years now.

As of this June, only vehicles with license plates "RKS" will be allowed to travel in and out of the republic. All inbound vehicles with other plates must get auto insurance at the border, unless except from GREEN CARD SYSTEM (EU members), and a temporary license plate (up to 30 days).

Sincerely,

Peggy

Time for those Serbs left in Kosovo to move to eastern Serbia.

=======================

Why?
By the same token we could say that it was time for K-Albanians to move to Albania and not start trouble since they were so unhappy being part of Serbia.
One rule for you and rule for the others. Seems a bit unfair.

As you know, the government of the Republic of Kosovo is the successor to UNMIK, as competencies are transferred. :)
(Glenn, 31 March 2012 18:03)

Far from it! UNMIK is still governing Kosovo as per 1244. We are still waiting for the outcome of the 'negotiation process'...
Of course we, the world, do not accept UDI!

Reciprocal measures: Serbia should seize license plates issued by Kosovo Albanian authorities because they are 'illegal', too (according to the Serbian point of view that Kosovo is part of Serbia) Comm. Parrisson

The Kosovo Interior Ministry stressed that such number plates were “illegal”.

Except that Kosovo issuing license plates seems to fit within UNSR 1244, particularly since it was the UN that started issuing them shortly after the war. As you know, the government of the Republic of Kosovo is the successor to UNMIK, as competencies are transferred. :)

"The ministry also called on citizens to obtain new Kosovo IDs and driver's licenses with the name of “the Republic of Kosovo” until June 1."

All citizens of Kosovo have got plenty of time to comply.

I fail to understand why Brussels (aka Berlin, London, Paris) and Washington, who want so much for the Tadic team to win the next elections in Serbia, don't tell their little lap dogs in Pristina to shut the hell up and stop tormenting Serbia until after May 6...

The means Kosovo* MUP* means Kosovo* license plates, right? I never heard of a place called the Republic of Kosovo. In any case, what will they (Kosovo* MUP) do, fine all the Serbs in North KiM, and take away their car plates? I am curious to see how they will enforce these laws they make up on a daily basis. The Kosovo* freak show continues.
