Given the Lithuanian nation supported Nazi Germany in WWII, the comments from its head of state are certainly alarming. No such apologists for Nazism should hold such a prestigious role at the UN. The gall of the Lithuanian goverment astounds me.

A country that supported Nazi Germany 70 years ago whose leaders then are all dead now, opposed to a country that was responsible for the Yugoslav wars 15 years ago whose leaders are alive and well and still dream to finish their mission. And whose sole purpose for wanting the position is so it can use its pressure on countries that have not yet recognized Kosovo to prevent them from doing so and thus continue their agenda of oppression.

I wonder which is the better choice for those outside of Serbia??

Lithuania is one of two countries that hasn't signed off in their parliament on Serbian EU Stabilisation and Association agreement. The other is Romania.
As we have seen from recent history and as we see now in this case countries will try to use all means to get what they want.

I'm thus not surprised by the Lithuanian position here. Relations appear to be pretty bad. Jeremic's candidacy may not be to everybody's taste, but I wonder if Azubalis is liked any more than Jeremic by global statesmen / powers.

I don't understand the Lithuanians, is no body suppose to run against their candidate? I just love how these NEW Democracy view elections. "we put our bid in June 2011 and the Serbs just did in January." Cry me river!!!!
