In any case, enjoy the reading, it's quite interesting and educational.

There is not a single Slavic or Greek building in the entire Balkan built before 17th century.

@Ecoman

Let me tell you Slav and Slavic means: "Glorious" in English.
The word: "Celt" Also means Glorious!
Hence a Glorious people, did all these people won something, did they liberate themselves what happened? We just do not know and most modern Europeans are of Celtic or Slavic origin.

Russians and Polish people have different genetics in comparison to Serbs and Bulgarians. But both are slavs...
And share the same language.

Is that then a same ethnic group?

Here a funny thing : when Napoleon was emperor in France only 50% of his citizen did speak French!!

So the word Slav imo cannot be associated with a ethnic group (now in present times yes) but not in ancient times.
about ancient times the languages where all closer and perhaps all white people (indo European) did speak only 1 or 2 languages?
Then that would mean all us Europeans are the same people.

Another example , Egyptians are Arabs?
They aren't they are Muslim or Christian and speak Arabic but call themselves Egyptians.
North Africans are Berber! and speak Arabic.

About Israel
I once watched a documentary about the west bank, and a Jewish settler explained if we do not live here then this land isn't ours, the Palestinians use the same tactic.
and I think this tactic is/was used in kosovo ;)

"Large scale Slavic settlement in the Balkans begins in the late 570s and early 580s".

Mark, the information is all over the internet. But why would you ask where the Slavs were in the 3rd century? Not sure of your point. In any case, enjoy the reading, it's quite interesting and educational.

Dear Ivan, you're forgetting one small thing: The Jews accepted the U.N. plan to divide the land of Israel, between them and the Arabs. The Arabs (there was no such thing as Palestinian political entity back then) rejected the plan, and launched a war on the Jewish new state.
Small detail to forget (or, maybe, a decision to forget..?)

Israel "does not accept" that their settlement activity in the west bank is "illegal under international law", because it isn't.

That's not to say that they should be doing it or that it is contrary to peace, but it's a stretch at best to say it's "illegal under international law"

Mark, what special relevance does the third century hold in your mind?
Where was tge French, English it German homeland in the 3rd century, or perhaps in the 15 century bc? Or how about 8000 years ago? Where was the American, Russian, Chinese, India culture then?
Clearly you must have a good logical reason for isolation 1800 years ago as some fundamentally important turning point in history. What is that?

However, it is much clearer why one might use a strongly fixed date such as 1949. In fact there are a number of people still alive from that time in Earth's history.

I wonder if your logic is any more clever than simple selective historical referencing to fit ones world view point.

If we're to beleive modern historians and anthropologists, then we're all defendants of Africa. Yet Africa doesn't control it's own continent let alone historically claimed ones using infinite regression.

Up until 1949 the Arabs in Palestine ,also did not have a homeland ,it was under British control and before Ottaman Turkish control, unlike The Jews the Arabs in Palestine were not indistinguishable from their brethern in Arabia or Egypt.

I guess when Israel develops settlements and strips the Palestinians of their land, that's all right. Prior to 1949, the Jews did not have a homeland, so they gave them half of Palestine, but that's not enough, let's take it all. Like their brethren, the US, let's steal land from others less powerful. Then when someone says something to the contrary, they are labeled anti-semetic.

Where was the serbs homeland located in the third century?
