Its no secret that I don't have much, if any, sympathy for Seselj.
However, I would support his temporary release, provided he didn't participate in politics in Serbia until the verdict is known / given.

The main reason that I would grant his release is that he volunteered to go to the Hague in the first place. The second reason would be that he was forced to wait many months until the trial begun.

At this stage I have my doubts that Seselj could interfere with witnesses, on the other hand however, it doesn't seem likely that its a coincidence that the election campaign is about to go into full swing.

BS answers from the Hague. They do not want Seselj anywhere near Belgrade now - there are elections coming up. That is the major reason he has been in the Hague all these years - to keep him out of Serbian politics.

Can you name a court in the world who has a defendant that has openly intimidated witnesses and prosecuted for it, and held without release during his whole trial, being released at the conclusion of the trial awaiting a verdict?
He knows his guilt and the fact that he will spend the rest of his life in prison and this is the only opportunity he has to flee. We all know he would be harder to find that Mladic.
