Councilors of four northern Kosovo municipalities have requested from the Serbian government and all competent bodies to hold the local elections in Kosovo.

Of course... EULEX is already doing whatever it can to fullfill the wishes of the councilors and implement UNMIK regulations which mandate customs taxes to be collected at the Kosovo crossings for goods destined to Kosovo.

I still don't know what's your problem? As long as Serbia allows it, what difference does it make to you whether it be presedential elections. or whatever election it might be? You talk about it not being in accordance with the UNSC 1244, but when you Albanians declare unilateral independence […] I assume those actions are in line with UNSC 1244?

First of all, Albania's civilization is not the oldest in Europe. They speak an Indo-European language, unlike Spain's Basques. Albanians strictly cling to their Illyrianness because they are taught by antiquated text books and nationalist rhetoric that it is fact.
I'm sure living in Europe's poorest country reflects in the quality of text books for children. I don't think everyone thinks everything Enver Hoxha did was good, but they keep his propaganda about Albanian origins. Strange that scholars still cannot decipher the Illyrian language.
Primordialist "blood" nationalism and national romanticism are also currently anti-trends in professional scholarship. Just look at the west, when was France claiming to be Celtic? Over 150 years ago. Just look at their statue of Vercingetorix near the former Alesia, it makes absolutely no sense today. They built that to deny their German origins, although France comes from the Franks, a Germanic tribe. If you want to sound backwards, go ahead, keep claiming your blood is clean and unmixed through the course of 2,000 years. I'm sure your great-great-great-great grandfathers and grandmothers did not feel the same way when they had sex with Slavs, Greeks, Turks, Vlachs, etc.
As for Albania, let's not forget why it was created. It came to be due to Austria-Hungary's anti-Serbian policy (denying their rival an outlet to the sea) and Italy's vision of forging a new empire. That happened 100 years ago, yet people claim "uninterruptedness" after Greeks, Romans, Greeks, Bulgarians, Greeks, Normans, Greeks, Serbs, then Albanians, and finally Turks have all called their land theirs before Austria-Hungary and Italy sought to deprive Serbia, Montenegro, and Greece of their conquests.
As for this feud over peoples... Nikola Tesla was a Serb, but his mind, his work, his life absolutely transcended petty nationalism. The same can be said for Mother Teresia. They did not do what they did because of their ethnic origins, they did it to help humanity. Tesla and Teresa, both, wanted to make the world a better place. I'm not sure many benefit non-stop from Teresa's lifework, but everyone who picks up a TV remote control or uses electricity can thank Tesla. Albanians who are here clearly are connected to the grid, so, thank a Serb.
Also, a guy named Harry Truman (US president) gave that Četnik Draža Mihailović posthumous honors. They were entirely secret since the US had to live with Tito's Yugoslavia, but the mere fact that they went to the trouble of honoring him says volumes. Furthermore, Aleksandar Karađorđević was present at the British royal wedding, were any Albanians there? Petar I Karađorđević, King of Serbia, also has his own in Jerusalem for being a friend to the Jews. Does Zog enjoy the same respect?
John Belushi, the famous Albanian-American actor, apparently did not have anything against Slavs when he agreed to play John Blutarsky (Slavonic) in his most famous role in "Animal House."

Here's what comes to mind:
- started 4 wars in one decade
- killed thousands of people (women, children and the elderly)
- set up camps and systematically raped women
- burned villages
- drove out hundreds of thousands of people from their homes
- committed heinous crimes that only tormented animals are capable of
- to this day they deny minorites basic human rights

The Serbs in the North can hold local elections too, Kosovo US, as they do not recognize Pristina's authority. Legally, Serbia is still a part of Serbia, so why can't they hold elections to elect their representatives? If everyone agreed that Kosovo is an independent Albanian State, then you may have a point, but it is not. Aren't you aware of all the negotiating back and forth, all the asterisks at regional meetings when Pristina is present - and now UNMIK will have to be present when Pristina is? Are those the markings of an independent State, Kosovo US? And Pristina threatening force - who's force? They only have some cops, and some more cops with black clothes. Are those cops going to come up North and start tearing up ballots, or arresting people at polling stations? What exactly will they do, Kosovo US? How's the weather in Brooklyn, by the way?

Here's what comes to mind:
- started 4 wars in one decade
- killed thousands of people (women, children and the elderly)
- set up camps and systematically raped women
- burned villages
- drove out hundreds of thousands of people from their homes
- committed heinous crimes that only tormented animals are capable of
- to this day they deny minorites basic human rights
The list goes on. I invite you to continue.

First of all, Albania's civilization is not the oldest in Europe. They speak an Indo-European language, unlike Spain's Basques. Albanians strictly cling to their Illyrianness because they are taught by antiquated text books and nationalist rhetoric that it is fact.
I'm sure living in Europe's poorest country reflects in the quality of text books for children. I don't think everyone thinks everything Enver Hoxha did was good, but they keep his propaganda about Albanian origins. Strange that scholars still cannot decipher the Illyrian language.
Primordialist "blood" nationalism and national romanticism are also currently anti-trends in professional scholarship. Just look at the west, when was France claiming to be Celtic? Over 150 years ago. Just look at their statue of Vercingetorix near the former Alesia, it makes absolutely no sense today. They built that to deny their German origins, although France comes from the Franks, a Germanic tribe. If you want to sound backwards, go ahead, keep claiming your blood is clean and unmixed through the course of 2,000 years. I'm sure your great-great-great-great grandfathers and grandmothers did not feel the same way when they had sex with Slavs, Greeks, Turks, Vlachs, etc.
As for Albania, let's not forget why it was created. It came to be due to Austria-Hungary's anti-Serbian policy (denying their rival an outlet to the sea) and Italy's vision of forging a new empire. That happened 100 years ago, yet people claim "uninterruptedness" after Greeks, Romans, Greeks, Bulgarians, Greeks, Normans, Greeks, Serbs, then Albanians, and finally Turks have all called their land theirs before Austria-Hungary and Italy sought to deprive Serbia, Montenegro, and Greece of their conquests.
As for this feud over peoples... Nikola Tesla was a Serb, but his mind, his work, his life absolutely transcended petty nationalism. The same can be said for Mother Teresia. They did not do what they did because of their ethnic origins, they did it to help humanity. Tesla and Teresa, both, wanted to make the world a better place. I'm not sure many benefit non-stop from Teresa's lifework, but everyone who picks up a TV remote control or uses electricity can thank Tesla. Albanians who are here clearly are connected to the grid, so, thank a Serb.
Also, a guy named Harry Truman (US president) gave that Četnik Draža Mihailović posthumous honors. They were entirely secret since the US had to live with Tito's Yugoslavia, but the mere fact that they went to the trouble of honoring him says volumes. Furthermore, Aleksandar Karađorđević was present at the British royal wedding, were any Albanians there? Petar I Karađorđević, King of Serbia, also has his own in Jerusalem for being a friend to the Jews. Does Zog enjoy the same respect?
John Belushi, the famous Albanian-American actor, apparently did not have anything against Slavs when he agreed to play John Blutarsky (Slavonic) in his most famous role in "Animal House."

Nonsense.. Kosovo Albanians were some of the biggest Nazis around, they slaughtered thousands of Serbs and jews.. THe KLA gets their inspiration from them.. The chetniks were the first anti-nazi resistance in Yugoslavia, they hated the communists so some of them defected to the Nazis but some also defected to the Partisans.. Once again get your facts right..

Of course... EULEX is already doing whatever it can to fullfill the wishes of the councilors and implement UNMIK regulations which mandate customs taxes to be collected at the Kosovo crossings for goods destined to Kosovo.

The Serbs in the North can hold local elections too, Kosovo US, as they do not recognize Pristina's authority. Legally, Serbia is still a part of Serbia, so why can't they hold elections to elect their representatives? If everyone agreed that Kosovo is an independent Albanian State, then you may have a point, but it is not. Aren't you aware of all the negotiating back and forth, all the asterisks at regional meetings when Pristina is present - and now UNMIK will have to be present when Pristina is? Are those the markings of an independent State, Kosovo US? And Pristina threatening force - who's force? They only have some cops, and some more cops with black clothes. Are those cops going to come up North and start tearing up ballots, or arresting people at polling stations? What exactly will they do, Kosovo US? How's the weather in Brooklyn, by the way?

How about helping drive out the Nazi's from the Balkans during WWII, while you Albanians and the Croats were doing their dirty work of ethnic cleansing? How about Nikola Tesla's inventions? Here's what comes to mind:
- started 4 wars in one decade
- killed thousands of people (women, children and the elderly)
- set up camps and systematically raped women
- burned villages
- drove out hundreds of thousands of people from their homes
- committed heinous crimes that only tormented animals are capable of
- to this day they deny minorites basic human rights

Nonsense.. Kosovo Albanians were some of the biggest Nazis around, they slaughtered thousands of Serbs and jews.. THe KLA gets their inspiration from them.. The chetniks were the first anti-nazi resistance in Yugoslavia, they hated the communists so some of them defected to the Nazis but some also defected to the Partisans.. Once again get your facts right..

First of all, Albania's civilization is not the oldest in Europe. They speak an Indo-European language, unlike Spain's Basques. Albanians strictly cling to their Illyrianness because they are taught by antiquated text books and nationalist rhetoric that it is fact.
I'm sure living in Europe's poorest country reflects in the quality of text books for children. I don't think everyone thinks everything Enver Hoxha did was good, but they keep his propaganda about Albanian origins. Strange that scholars still cannot decipher the Illyrian language.
Primordialist "blood" nationalism and national romanticism are also currently anti-trends in professional scholarship. Just look at the west, when was France claiming to be Celtic? Over 150 years ago. Just look at their statue of Vercingetorix near the former Alesia, it makes absolutely no sense today. They built that to deny their German origins, although France comes from the Franks, a Germanic tribe. If you want to sound backwards, go ahead, keep claiming your blood is clean and unmixed through the course of 2,000 years. I'm sure your great-great-great-great grandfathers and grandmothers did not feel the same way when they had sex with Slavs, Greeks, Turks, Vlachs, etc.
As for Albania, let's not forget why it was created. It came to be due to Austria-Hungary's anti-Serbian policy (denying their rival an outlet to the sea) and Italy's vision of forging a new empire. That happened 100 years ago, yet people claim "uninterruptedness" after Greeks, Romans, Greeks, Bulgarians, Greeks, Normans, Greeks, Serbs, then Albanians, and finally Turks have all called their land theirs before Austria-Hungary and Italy sought to deprive Serbia, Montenegro, and Greece of their conquests.
As for this feud over peoples... Nikola Tesla was a Serb, but his mind, his work, his life absolutely transcended petty nationalism. The same can be said for Mother Teresia. They did not do what they did because of their ethnic origins, they did it to help humanity. Tesla and Teresa, both, wanted to make the world a better place. I'm not sure many benefit non-stop from Teresa's lifework, but everyone who picks up a TV remote control or uses electricity can thank Tesla. Albanians who are here clearly are connected to the grid, so, thank a Serb.
Also, a guy named Harry Truman (US president) gave that Četnik Draža Mihailović posthumous honors. They were entirely secret since the US had to live with Tito's Yugoslavia, but the mere fact that they went to the trouble of honoring him says volumes. Furthermore, Aleksandar Karađorđević was present at the British royal wedding, were any Albanians there? Petar I Karađorđević, King of Serbia, also has his own in Jerusalem for being a friend to the Jews. Does Zog enjoy the same respect?
John Belushi, the famous Albanian-American actor, apparently did not have anything against Slavs when he agreed to play John Blutarsky (Slavonic) in his most famous role in "Animal House."

Ivan, actually, yes, the ICJ very specifically ruled that Kosovo's unilateral declaration of independence was in line with 1244, or at least in no way violated it...
... and now UNMIK will have to be present when Pristina is? Are those the markings of an independent State, Kosovo US? ...

Of course... EULEX is already doing whatever it can to fullfill the wishes of the councilors and implement UNMIK regulations which mandate customs taxes to be collected at the Kosovo crossings for goods destined to Kosovo.
