KiM is 100% serbian territory. there can be no talk about any "autonomy" for Serbs in their own territory. it´s quite the opposite: autonomy is the maximun the Albanians in KiM can expect in the future. and I mean only those Albanians who live in southern Serbia before 1999.

just sit there and wait, my dear k-albanian friends. this will take some time, but Serbia will prevail.

ps: what the hell have you lost in KiM, actually? there are no signs of albanian "culture" at all in KiM! no buildings, no inscriptions, no artifacts, no nothing. ...how dare you to claim serbian territory as yours???

“According to him, the current talks - sponsored by the EU and held in Brussels since last March - should be guided toward the issue of autonomy for northern Kosovo.”…Kosovo is a Serbian lend,Kosovo is a part of Serbia and you don’t have right to ask us to give kosovo to Albanians ..If they want they country they can go to Albania !! They don't have anything to ask on Kosovo, they live on Serbia land and that is it!!

Very simple answer to this nonsense. Sandzak, Vojvodina, Preshva Valley, Region of Pirot, etc.

One out of four you got right. You're not thinking this through. Then again, you never do whether you post as "Avni" or under your earlier alias of "ivan" :)

What the Hell are you Albanians giving? You are taking. You took the whole of Kosovo and now think you are giving something?

Hey Tom Tom! Nice try but kosovas declaration of independence is not illegal. And the agreement for Kosovo* with an asterisk is a temporary agreement, now you can be mad that by temporary King Thaqi only meant 2 meetings. But if u want to express your anger direct it at serbias lead negotiator bosko. God bless u all

First you change borders by force by illegaly declaring Kosovo independent and now you say borders may not change. Well, it doesn't work that way. You set the wheel in motion and it will stop when it is ready to stop.

"SERBIA" is a partially recognized territory which, apart from Bosnia(1), none of its neighbors recognize.

Autonomy for the north and all other Serbian municipalities and enclaves if they wish for it, especially Gracanica and Strpce.

Autonomy for the Gorani of Dragas.

In exchange: Serbia either recognizes Kosovo, or ceases blocking it from getting into other international institutions. Other countries can recognize or not if they want.

Whatever happens with Presevo is between them and Belgrade. Not Kosovo.

Agree! It's the most logical solution to this whole mess.
(M, 20 March 2012 11:06)

Totally agree if Serbia will formally recognise Kosova after this agreement.

Unfortunately,Serbia have said that even if they agree on autonomy for North, they never will recignise Kosova.
So why albanians will give and get nothing in return?

If Preshevo valley,Bujanovc and Medvegja have autonomy then I don't see why northern Kosova could not have autonomy. A deal should be fair to everyone involved.

But I think what's impotant here is that borders will not change.
(Demi, 20 March 2012 12:26)

These people from the west are now coming out thick and fast. Now not a month goes by without someone from this think tank or that one who proposes a cure to the Kosovo stalemate and they are now talking about a northern Kosovo with autonomy.
If you read between the lines they are selling you out. Yes it’s true as only 4 years ago they would not even entertain the idea of autonomy.
The west is floating the idea to try and fix this mess quickly and try and redirect urgently needed resources elsewhere not Kosovo. They want it settled, but if the Serbs play their cards right they will keep their powder dry and watch as even more concessions come forth before even June. If Serbia is going through a rough time due to the EU financial crises then you can just imagine the horrors to come in Kosovo and summer is a coming soon with nice and hot days and trouble throughout Europe.
All of these westerns that come out with these statements on autonomy are only massaging your lot for more change and it’s not in your favor either. Watch and learn.

'Lehne, a former envoy for the Balkans of former EU high representative Javier Solana, proposed in an analysis for the European branch of the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace that the EU immediately name a special envoy who would direct the process, adding that the essence of northern Kosovo's autonomy is yet to be negotiated.'

So this stooge worked for the 'humanitarian bomber' Solana, and is paid by Carnegie Endowment, which is basically the CIA spreading their propaganda. He should be firmly told that Kosovo is Serbia, given the middle finger, and ignored completely by Serbia.
Cheers!!

"A balance needs to be struck between the desire of the local population to control their own destiny and the fact that the region will still be part of Kosovo"

There is no compromise between whether you will have your local authority or not. "Kosovo" is a geographical term. For residents of Northern Kosovo - it's just a geographical term that denotes a part of Serbia. The population of North Kosovo wants to have its own local government that will maintain contacts with Pristina or Belgrade, whatever.

How can undeceive Population of Northern Kosovo to defend this position? Only by force of arms. Does the International community has the legitimacy to exercise military force in northern Kosovo against the political will of local people?? Of course not. This is not a war between Serbia and NATO. This is something new. These are people who have their political will.

Lehne said it was "contradictory" that Belgrade constantly refers to UN Security Council Resolution 1244, "and then violates it by calling local elections in Kosovo".

This guy made similar statements earlier on. I am preatty sure he has a six figure salary but I do not think he is up to his job.

Serbia has a legitimate right towards Serbs living in Kosovo expecially to north. But Serbia MUST recognise Kosovo independence first before any serious talks can take place. After that the solutions are very easy.

I do not see why Kosovo can not apply the same rights for norther Kosovo to those rights enjoyed by Albanians living in Presevo, Bujanovc and Medvegja.

Identical rights like twins but not from the same mother....
