you can only pray for Tadic to "win" the upcoming elections, ...otherwise you will have to witness some real changes indeed.
(Jovan, 20 March 2012 16:17)

Not sure what you mean by "you", but Kosovo Albanians for sure do not want Tadic to win otherwise Serbia may really become an EU member and start to cause major complications for Kosovo (see Greece vs FYROM for an example - not sure FYROM is that happy that Greece is a NATO and EU member).

In addition, people like Vuk are the best promoters of Kosovo's independence (just see how many countries have recognized Kosovo after Vuk has spoken with/about them). So, if Vuk or somebody like him were to replace Boris, that would be a big achievement for Kosovo.

Now, not sure if that is good for Serbia or not, but Kosovo Albanians couldn't care less about that.

You sound like a priest preaching to the flock. it seems however you only preach to convince yourself, becasue logic tells you that its over. you have 2 options, kill all Albanians who live in Kosova or deport them (because they want nothing to do with your state) or accept their right to free will. pick and choose.

It's just an excuse; Serbia does not want to get involved with any Gay forum and to avoid any mention of the Gay parade in Belgrade.

If you read between the lines of the asterisk and footnote, simply stated, Serbia is still Kosovo.

well, we will see, ...who doesn´t see the bigger picture here, my dear k-albanian friend.

you can only pray for Tadic to "win" the upcoming elections, ...otherwise you will have to witness some real changes indeed.

just in case, Mr.Seselj doesn´t get killed in the Hague, and returns to Serbia ( as far as it is known, they haven´t managed to prove any of those allegations raised against him in 9 years. NINE years! ) there will be some significant impetus for the national cause in the serbian society. and since they couldn´t sentence him, all they could and still can, is to take him out of Serbia´s political life at the moment.

so, given that Tadic´s treacherous regime has disqualified itself, given that many Serbs do not see any greater changes in the last years, ...and given that the US are just about to start another mess in the middle-east... do you really believe that you should resort to the use of force? ...I mean, it´s a known fact that the Albanians have nothing more than that, since arguments, truth and justice are on Serbia´s side.

I´ll tell you something. in ´99 I had some sympathies for the K-albanians. this time it is different. all of us inside and outside of Serbia will stand behind those who take up the fight for liberation.

Serbia will prevail. that´s something you should understand, the sooner, the better for you.

"But as far as idiotic goes, what other reason would Serbia want to read the footnote aloud other than thinking that it would in some way embarass the Kosovo delegation."

There is talk that a circular document was sent around by Jeremic to his employees with instructions on reading the footnote loud and clear up to the part where it speaks about UNRSC 1244, before it speaks about the ICJ and the Declaration of Independence but pretend to have a cough attack in the last part of the footnote "I cough C cough cough J cough, and the Decl.coouughh ara coguugh tion of Ind.buaaahhh nde nde cough nce.." and then conclude with "This cold is killing me, can I have a glass of water please..". as soon as Tadic and his comrades are out of office, this nonsense will have an end. and K-albanians will have to attend with UN-escort again.

perhaps this is just another example of the socalled " taqiyya " ... some sort of lie, cheapishly justified as morally-adequate lie in socalled religious circles..

don´t fool yourselves, all this will be printers waste when this treacherous Tadic-regime is replaced by a democratically elected government in Belgrade.

then my dear k-albanian friends, there will be no more "meetings" with albanian criminals.

I´d say, choose yourself new figures in order to have some without blood on their hands, when you will need some representation in Belgrade.
(Jovan, 19 March 2012 21:30)
You are missing the big picture of reality. The agreement was not so Kosovo could attend the meetings, they were already doing that. Serbia threatened boycotts but the host countries would not bow to pressure so Serbia stayed home. Elections in Serbia is not going to change that fact. Unless it means that Serbia will attend and try to become disruptive. When have you seen Serbia getting up and walking out of a conference or UNSC forum or anywhere else that has really had an impact.
But Kosovo was attending without UNMIK before the agreement and will continue to do so after whatever changes in power surfaces in Belgrade.

So while the asterisk and the footnote must be printed on the name plate, someone decided that it's not allowed to read this nameplate aloud when introducing the participants? It's getting more and more idiotic with this pseudo-state of Kosovo.
(Comm. Parrisson, 19 March 2012 21:41)
There is a big confusion over what is in the press and what is in the agreement. B92 has been gracious enough to post the actual agreement. Read it without interjecting what you think it already says and I think you will be surprised. The asterisk is suppose to be with Kosovo as Kosovo* and the footnote. There is no specific reference to what has to be on a placard with the exception of this:
"Hosts of meetings will be encouraged to avoid the display of national symbols except for their own and those of the EU, taking into account the statutes of relevant organizations." Which would mean that Republic of Serbia would be represented on the placard as Serbia and Kosovo would simply be Kosovo.
I am not from Kosovo but I think that Kosovo should wave their footnote proudly because in actuality it should be an embarassment to Serbia.
1. These conferences have both states that have and have not recognized Kosovo, therefore to them status is not settled.
2. Resolution 1244 is present to remind people of the violent past Kosovo went through and is a symbol that the UN took the unprecedented step of stripping Serbia of all political, military, judicial and economic control over Kosovo.
3. The ICJ opinion is that the UDI did not violate international law, contrary to the insistence of Serbia.
4. While it is a designation that Kosovo cannot represent itself as a full fledged state, it also prohibits Serbia from claiming it as a province.

But as far as idiotic goes, what other reason would Serbia want to read the footnote aloud other than thinking that it would in some way embarass the Kosovo delegation. There was no legitimate reason for wanting to do so. Also it was not the Kosovo delegation that apparently stopped them, apparently it was due to the rules of the conference.

The agreement was for 2 purposes: 1. to satisfy the EU so they could approve the candidate status of Serbia. 2. to enable Serbia(not Kosovo) to attend the conferences because Kosovo was attending it was Serbia that was sitting home with their lip stuck out.

But like everything else in the balkans once one side supports something the other side has to fight against it, whether it is a good thing or bad.

What is the point in holding any negotiations when the other side is not going to honour them?
It's time Serbia cut ties with these kidney thieves in Pristina and said that either EU supports agreements made or they can shove it.

Comm. Parrisson

pre 12 godina

According to one source, the asterisk was present on the Kosovo nameplate, but the head of the Serbian delegation wanted to read the footnote aloud. When he was not allowed to, he walked out. This version makes more sense than that Prishtina (just starting negotiations with the EU) had somehow convinced Montenegro (on the point of starting accession talks) to ignore a request from Brussels.
