Sloba and Mira driving on the road in their black Mercedes and on the road side see an old, toothless man wearing a white skullcap and picking up the trash drivers left.

Sloba to Mira:

"Imagine, you would be married to this man, who would you be today?"

Mira to Sloba:

"The first lady, the wife of the President of Yugoslavia"

I am not qualified to judge Zoran Djindjic.
But I have imprression, Milosevic was a "western" boy at one point in his life, he was working as a bank manager and was frequent on Wall Street. As a side-job he was a mafiosi, a notorious hater and ridiculer of anything even remotely Russian. The other side-job he had was running dumbass politics against own population and underwrite one disasterous agreement after an other one with the opponents of Yugoslavia.

Widely rumored (even established by court) that he ordered to kill his own mentor, Ivan Stambolic.
Widely rumored, he was a spineless worm and many actions above were orchestered by Mira Markovic, the only significant role Sloba did was to prepare sandwiches for the guests during some of meetngs.

Ironically, Mira Markovic run away to her hated Russia.

Do not know, but for me that family looks more like a bunch of criminals and losers - but be welcome to tell me, if these very widespread rumors are incorrect. I can't recall a single clever step Milosevic ever did but you are welcome to tell me. You may complain about botched privatizations later and Zoran Djindjic being corrupt, I can't say anything because I do not know the details - but how about the hyperinflation in Milosevic time?

zman,

You are absolutely correct.

Look at what Cedomir Jovanovic is trying to do with Serbia. It is an insult.

Betrayal of Kosovo Serbs disgusts me. They treat them like they are not Serbians.

Just because most Serbians want protection & rights to the Kosovo Serbs' homeland does not mean they are radical. It is reasonable, not radical.

Cedomir Jovanovic is a lost cause & a shame to the whole of Serbia. Most of all he is a shame to himself.

you know very well what policies and approaches brought about NATO bombing. The brainwashing regime of miloshevic resulting in all the Balkan wars. building up inter-ethnic violence, hatred, murder, genocide, ethnic clensing to an already fragile region of Europe. all in the name of Serbs .... that us what you should condemn my friend.

The ignorance of those posters is insance.. Djindic's vision is exactly what Serbia is today.. Run by a political class of ultra courrt kleptocrats loyal to the western, an economy run by IMF mandates. he did EVERYTHING to undermine Yugoslavia, he championed the devastating privatizations that enriched him.. he was in Montenegro getting suitcases full of cass during the bombing.. He NEVER condemned the NATO bombing.. EVER.. Any sane leadership would denounce him and convict of treason but he was west's boy in Serbia to undermine Milosevic and that's he is a darling now.. it's shamefull and insutling to the millions who suffered..

and he was killed by rival mafia gangs, not by anyone from an opposing party..

I'm not a Serb but this guy was a true politician with European values. Serb radicals ignored his vision and his ideas by killing him because they were scared of change. Little did they know of what was to follow. I honestly think this was the biggest loss to Serbian democracy, if such term exists in the first place. R.I.P. Zoran.

This is crazy. The guy was in Montenegro getting suitcases full of cash from those ordering the bombing of Belgrade.. WoW.

These people must be one of the few that have benefited from toppling of Milosevic, who cares that over 80% of the population hasnt?? Right? After all a democracy is where the minority rules..
