After years of war against serbian troops, Croats launched a major offensive and defeated the enemy. All important victories should be celebrated by a nation, and that's what Croatia is doing.

Just think about how our enemies would be moaning if Serbs on every July 11th would celebrate "The decisive Serbian victory in the battle of Srebrenica"!

This is good that they are doing this, because it is all good evidence for a Genocide Lawsuit that should never have been dropped against Croatia.

It is good that there is no statue of limitations when it comes to War Crimes, and Croatia is on the record of celebrating War Crimes.

In the context of that war, from the Croat side, smashing RSK is a legitimate military objective in what was, after all, a war. Whereas, ethnically cleansing a huge civilian population is not a legitimate operation.

These two things need to be disentangled for there to be any rational conversation on this topic.

When Croatian politicians praise Oluja are they praising the departure of Serbs? That's what Serbs hear. Croats need to be a little more honest about this.

When these things are separated, then there can be more rational discussion on what happened. 250K Serbs were evacuated by the Serbs not the Croats, let's not forget that. Tudjman told them to stay. Disregarding these things is dishonest. Was Tudjman's plea for Serbs to stay window-dressing? Were to Croats saying one thing and doing another? This needs to be discussed honestly and rationally.
