The wording much less optimistic than on B92. The American Fiat 500L models will be of course bigger and better than the same for Europe, but don't think it will help, it is hopelessly underpowered for the American (and my) taste. Selling underpowered cars probably unsafe at any speed won't help you much, Boris.

I want to see NHTSA safety tests of 500L.

And indeed, that car needs 160 hp in order to be accepted in the States because the ramps all over the country are very short.

The competition is very strong, just look at www.edmunds.com. The current pricing for the 2012 FIAT 500 Lounge model (the one which has automatic transmission - Americans can't drive manual) is horrible. Dealer invoice = $18710, MSRP = $19500, even with presumably 3% factory-to-dealer kickback there is zero room to negotiate the price, zero incentive for dealer to sell the car and in that price range ( $17000 - $20000 ) you can get well-equipped Honda Civic, Honda FIT (Jazz in Europe), Toyota Corolla, Toyota Matrix and many more.

Ask yourself, Tadic: would you buy a Honda Fit / Honda Jazz for the same price or that FIAT 500L?
Probably neither, your car is Audi/Merc but just for the moment imagine you are a sucker like me who has to live from little and many hungry kids at home.

“This car will be sold both in Europe and in the United States. The (Serbian) citizens can now have more trust in their government. This is, above all, an achievement by Serbian citizens,” Tadić said.

I am afraid, the only car sold both in Europe and in the United States Tadić is used to has a three-pointed star on the nose, that FIAT does not have that feature. He sounds like Obama who suggested to buy a hybrid minivan to a poor sucker (there is no hybrid minivan sold in the States!)

At the moment politicians begin to speak about what kind of car suckers like us have to drive in Europe and in the States I am deeply worried, something bad will happen again with the usual stuff. Just please leave us in peace, that's the best you can do.

And by the way: good luck in the States, competing with U.S.-assembled Toyota, Honda and NKorea-assembled Kia. We all know the "quality" behind the word "FIAT", means "Fix It Again Toni" in American slang.

Until now, how much money has this provided to Serbia? How many jobs?
But, for sure, future will be bright, hand in hand with Boris and his "friends" on the European path.
LMAO

Remember Serbia bought those jobs to the tune of many 100s of millions Euros. By Serbia taking out huge loans for Fiat and guaranteeing the Serbian tax payer of paying it back. So in the end the 100s millions that Fiat was suppose to invest in Serbia they didn't blamed the world economy for not doing it. If the cars don't sell well Fiat will abandon Serbia with a huge debt at Serbian tax payers feet. I'm sure you can attract more car manufacturers with those sucker deals where you suffer all the risk if their product dose not sell.

You've already told us this Fiat story during the last elections, Boris.

bebana, there will not be too many jobs because most of these things are automated. Plus it's only a matter of time until this gets moved to place with cheaper labor. On top of all that, the profits are not kept in serbia but go to the West. It's not like in the 1980s when we got profits from the yugo... this time the west reaps profits while we simply assemble their car.
