This is all a matter of getting Serbs used to the idea!
Belgrade government's unrelenting desire to be EU member means when they join the Club they will have to obey the Rules and the Rule Number 1 for Serbia will be to recognize Kosovo as an Albanian state.
In Serbian diaspora we are very very unhappy with this but we have no say so therefore we have already accepted that Tadic and company have belittled Serbia.

You are just ignoring the fact that Kosovo will have complete and total equality with all the nations! Serbia has to treat Kosovo like it treats Greece and Bulgaria and Romania. Albanians got everything they want and more!! They just have to deal with a meaningless and stupid asterisk that means nothing at all because they got all the rights and more of a totally independent country and member of the UN!

Did you sleep during the last weeks? In regional conferences, Kosovo will be present as Kosovo*, an entity with an unresolved status. This is perfectly in line with reality, where some people see Kosovo as an independent country and others see it as a Serbian province.
(Comm. Parrisson, 4 March 2012 13:06)

As you say in the second sentence yourself, the "*" means that Kosovo will be represented as an entity with resolved status for those who do recognize its independence and with unsresolved status for those who consider it as a Serbian province (formally) but under UNMIK interim adminitration.

"How else to explain Serbia treating Kosovo as an independent country in meeetings and conferences?

Time will tell whether this is simply a ploy to squeeze more concessions out of the Serbian govt puppets and keep their preferred "partners" in power. I feel the representation of the Albanian Kosovo gov't under resolution 1244 in conferences and other events is a short term win for Serbia.

Kosovo will never be let go, simply because the people of Serbia dont want to. Respect that democracy or live in your own hypocracy.
God bless

Why can't Kosovo Albanians realize that Serbia will never ever recognise Kosovo as an independent country.
Kosovo will always be part of Serbia.

This way Europe can at least keep 1.7m Albanians out of europe and in a land locked country that is more like a jail than country.

Serbia has already recognized Kosovo independence. How else to explain Serbia treating Kosovo as an independent country in meeetings and conferences? There is no one in the Serbian government who can treat Kosovo as anything less than independent in meetings and conferences!

"...and a formal recognition of Kosovo will then be a condition,” he pointed out.

You serbs make it seem like a recognition is such a bad thing. What's wrong with recognizing a fait accompli? Your leaders publicly have stated that they would like a last solution and accepting it would solve so many of your own internal affairs. Maybe I'm an idealist but this divorce is over thirteen (13) years deep, and only in the last four (4) it has been official; stop moping around. Just move on Serbia, he found someone better...

Sincerely,
