Serbs had the option of voting for someone who cared about Kosovo for president twice already and both times they chose tadic who only cares about the EU- majority of Serbs in serbia have already endorsed kosovo independence by voting for tadic. and tadic has delivered on his promise of kosovo indepdence.

You're right! When Mr. Jeremic shouts what other countries must and mustn't do with regards to Kosovo is not because he expects them to oblige. It's to score political points in Serbia.
As time goes on, more and more Serbs are realizing this. It's my guess that most of them are already aware of it.

I said it before. The Kosovo issue is over! It has been over since 1999.
Don't blame Mr. Tadic for something Milosevic did. You can blame Tadic for other things but not for losing Kosovo.

Think about it! In which direction have the winds been blowing since 1999 and more specifically since the Declaration of Independece?

It may be painful to some to admit the truth but everything has been pointing to an independent Kosovo.

The latest agreement between the two sides unofficially confirms this.
Why would you agree to negotiate with and accept a 'disputed territory' as an equal if you don't view them as an independent state?

Can someone explain that to me?

Those of you who are bothered by this shouldn't view it as a win/loss.
It's a win-win for both sides as you will see in the future.

Someone needs to close the final chapter of the 1990s and move toward a prosperous future. And that man is no other than 'cowardly Tadic' as I've see some people refer to him.

In my opinion, he's braver than some of your heroes of the 90s combined!

Exactly what I predicted. More threats and demands to give up more sovereignty, or else. They didn't wait very long did they, Tadic and his traitors were still partying when they got this slap in the face. This is an ongoing policy of the German run EU, to strip Serbia of its cojones, bit by bit. Like I've always said, the EU, and Germany in particular, needs to be given the finger and told to shove off, we are not interested. Take your worthless plummeting Euros and stick them.
Cheers!!

Thanks, Boris for putting us on to this great and salvaging path for Serbia.

What you would have done better winston? Or you would have done like Milloshevic did, which we albanian should thank for creation of Kosova. All Serbians that criticize Tadic either are ignorant or are stupid. To my understanding he did that best to the circumstances that are now.

The message is clear. It is not so much that Serbia must recognize Kosovo. It is about Serbia recognizing that Kosovo is and will remain a separate reality, whatever Serbia does. The EU is searching for the most painless way to convince Serbia to come to terms whit its recent history, i.e. the lost of a province. Serbia is not the first country in the world to lose a territory. It will hardly be the last one, despite of the fact that since the Congress of Vienna 1815 the world leaders every time declare the then present borders to be final! Kosovo is the past of Serbia, but EU is its future. The past will be always there, in the memories of the generations, but the future will be what the present generation makes of it. Milosevic lost a generation in futile plans to undo what was undoable. Tadic should not repeat the same mistake again.

Brian

Serbia already recognized Kosovo's independence with the conference and meetings deal this really is about telecommunications and energy

Belgrade agreed to allow Kosovo to speak under its flag in regional meetings and to sign international agreements like any other fully recognised nation.

One more nibble of that carrot for more of your country.
Just wondering what sort of a concession Serbia will have to make in order to actually get that "golden ticket".
Either Serbs are not being told the truth because their media is too controlled or they are absolute morons to allow this to continue.
We will see at the next election.

"Recognizing Kosovo" would not be a condition for Serbia's membership in the EU, he continued, and added that "nobody plans to make that condition".

Of course not, no one is really interested in Serbia recognizing Kosova. The problem is only with Russian veto in UNSC. What will be required is for Serbia to convince Russia to withdraw the veto, at least abstain and allow Kosova become a UN member. Then Serbia can always continue to refuse to recognize Kosova.
All this could be done under the carpet. And then there is win-win for everyone. Serbia can say we didn't recognize Kosova, Kosova will be UN member, Tadic will claim that his policy of EU and "Kosovo" has succeeded, Russia will perhaps ask for some compensation related to Abhkazia and SO or perhaps just be allowed to become a member of World Bank.

What's important is that EU membership involves many steps and each step Serbia has to give away a little.

See the problem is this winston, For years Serbia bucked against 1244 every oportunity they could so they would hold elections and UNMIK would say they were illegal but it really was not worth the effort to do anything about it.
Now that Serbia is spouting everything is against 1244 and that Serbia insists that 1244 is in force and it is the only way anything can be done they have waxed themselves into a corner. Do they flagrantly defy 1244 by scheduling elections while standing on every podium in the world trying to convince the everyone that it is the most sacred document since the Bible, or do they honor 1244 and not call elections in Kosovo?
Which is a joke because no one else interprets 1244 to mean what Serbs claim it means.

For a competent government that would be an easy condition to fulfill it we are clear on our objective as we say we are. Of course, we don't have a very competent government, and the opposition is even worse.

Better PLAN it now otherwise EU must MUST allow peacefully Kosovo to join Albania. Then a swap of territories can be discussed but that will go against the EU values.....

"Those conditions are related to agreements on energy, telecommunications, in order to clear those things up, the messages of the European Council from December are clear and our friends in Serbia must have faith that these are the conditions we have in mind, and that there are no others," Fule said.

Asked whether "it would be a problem for Serbia" to organize local elections in Kosovo, this EU official stated that it would be "contrary to UN Security Council Resolution 1244".

Hahahaha, just make sure you give the EU the rights to your mobile phones and energy in Kosovo, Serbia, and all will be fine between us. In other words, screw you Serbs and Albanians, we only care about making money for the EU, you low-life Balkaners. As for the elections, we (the EU) will interpret Res. 1244 to our own liking, and say the N. of KiM should not have elections, too. Amazing how this all works into the EU's favor. Thanks, Boris for putting us on to this great and salvaging path for Serbia.
