Sorry, EA, but Serbia will never recognize an independent albanian narco-state on its southern province. You can be sure of that, in your life time, certainly. Kosovo is Serbian land, and there is no EU dream that can take that away, there will be NO swap! Albanians, including you, EA, should concentrate more on improving the living conditions for citizens in KiM, helping them with the basics that their lives demand, and worry less about your political status. Kosovo's political status will always be, at the least, a province of Southern Serbia. But if you Albanians behave, we may allow you to come into the EU with us, although I do not think the EU wants that. They know who and what Albanians are. They are already on their land.

Tadić said the country’s position on Kosovo’s independence was crystal clear.

“I don’t expect some EU member states to try to set this is a condition because there are EU states that have not and will not recognize Kosovo,” the president stressed

Tadic let me remind you something. You must be smart enough not to compare Cyprus to Germany....you know exactely what I mean.

Serbia will be forced to recognise officially Kosovo independence before joining the EU. Whether that will happen in your lifetime or my lifetime (I am younger) I do not know.

The "compromise" between the powerful EU countries and the other weakest link for Serbia to join EU would be for Serbia to recognise officially Kosovo first otherwise Serbia will remain PERPETUL STUDENT of the EU.

Someone might ask why that condition was placed now? Because a country can be a candidate for many years to come...look at Macedonia....)

"....adding that there were many countries that had similar problems as Serbia when it came to Kosovo."

Which are these countries with similarities. I really mean SIMILARITY.

The problem today in Serbia is that there in no alternative to the EU pro-activists. All of the old socialists, communists, whatever ists, have sold out (again) to keep their cushy seats in government, so we are left with no EU opposition alternatives. Yes, there is Kostunica, but he's as inspiring and motivating as Richard Simmons at a pig roast (sorry locals, especially you Albanians, but you have to be American to understand). This is also why Mr. Seselj has been kept in a Hague jail for nine years.Tthe West, and its lackeys, are afraid of the opposition movement he would create towards the EU - so better to keep him away, and shut up. “We are witnessing a dilemma whether this is an epochal achievement. It is great but not epochal. It will be epochal once we cross the magic line and Serbia becomes a member of the EU society and once it can use all the funds” - basically, what you are saying Mr. Tadic is that Serbia has been sold for "all the funds" which Serbia will one day have at its disposal, once it is an EU member. Why do I find this pathetic, and a selling of Serbia? Is this what Serbia has come to, after existence on the Balkan peninsula, that we (Serbs) kneel to the Germans, French, British, etc., in the EU to "use all the funds"? I as a Serb, am ashamed today. And please, no asinine comments from the usual crop of Albanians here, you guys are even worse off.

I think the candidacy is a really great personal success of Mr.Tadic and other Otporians. The question is if it is a success of the whole nation. Two decades ago Russia was leaving Serbia at a loss but last decade Serbia is paying us with the same coin. God knows what Medveputin thinks but what is good for Serbia is good for me too. Let’s wait and see how the things run. Will EU survive before the membership becomes available or not we don’t know. What negative sequences the candidacy will have we also do not know. But anyway Good Luck Serbia !

Actually I think the major EU countries don't have much of a choice -- they rather have Tadic than the likes of Kostunica after the next election. So no real miracle that all those German obstacles just suddenly evaporated overnight, right?
