" It's not a coincidence that albanains are related to prostitution, drugs, human trafficing, theft etc. If you albanians were so great then why isn't Albania in the EU? Why hasn't Kosovo moved forward in the last 10 years despite the fact that Europe and America has been incharge of the territory? "
(MikeC, 29 February 2012 21:50)

I think the base problem in Albanian, and especially Kosovo Albanian, society is the ancient clan based system still being present, comparable to Afghanistan. This hinders any democratic progress, people are loyal to their clans (and the criminals amongst them), they don't care for police or state institutions. Corruption is a result from this, too. The big fishes in the government (who came/stayed there by manipulated elections) give state jobs only to their clan members. The second thing is that these clans are often mafia clans, comparable to south Italy, so the economy is black economy, no taxes for the state, and all those fields of 'business' where you can make a lot of money (like drug distribution, prositution, human trafficking) are flourishing.

You can never expect any progress to turn people into a democratic society with European values while those structures are present.

Serbia has made giant strides in moving forward to becoming a modern European city, and will continue to do so. I wish I could say the same for USAlbania.
(PapaJohn, 29 February 2012 21:46)

I suggest you consult a map and a dictionary so you can discover that Serbia is not a city but a country. Although you claim to have been to Kosova, I doubt very much that you have ever been there. Perhaps it was the "city" of Macedonia that you visited instead and the Macedonians were too polite to educate you and hence, burst your bubble.

Eu or no EU, you can't change the backwardness of the culture, customs, history and people of Serbia. A great quote that I heard recently is "You have to let go of who you are in order to become who you will be". If you want to become the great country that you "think" that you are, the only way that is going to happen is if you change....for the better. That's sound advice for any country and not just Serbia. And when it comes to Serbian Albanian relations, Serbs have it all wrong. You don't know who the Albanians really are. All you've got is an impression, corrupted by the opinions of other fellow nationalist/racist Serbians. Most of you Serbs have never even met an Albanian. Its not just Albanians that complain about Serbs, its Croatians, Bosnian's, Romanians, Hungarians etc. THAT should tell you something.
(USA United States of Albania, 29 February 2012 17:04)

Perhaps you should rethink everything you said because if everyone thinks what you said is stupid, perhaps it is?

Serbs are not perfect but for someone like you to lecture the world about who serbs are is just to much. What planet are you living on? Seriously? If serbs have a bad reputation then what can be said about albanians? Of course there are good and bad people evertywhere but for the most part albanians have the worst reputation in Europe together with arabs. It's not a coincidence that albanains are related to prostitution, drugs, human trafficing, theft etc. If you albanians were so great then why isn't Albania in the EU? Why hasn't Kosovo moved forward in the last 10 years despite the fact that Europe and America has been incharge of the territory? Serbia is on the verge of joining the EU. If no one likes us then why would they want to make us a member state? Just that is proof that your opinion is way of the charts. Serbian athletes have concured the world. What have albanians done? There is a reason to why albanians are the forgotten people of Europe.

Just a reply, ditto. I mirror your comments completely. It is so amusing, actually quite bold, for an Albanian to be critical of another ethnicity in the Balkans. Do you Mr. Albanian USA, have a clue what the whole of Europe thinks about Albanians? You may be in for quite a surprise if you do not already know. The people in the Balkans that really do need to change is you, Mr. USAlbania. Your countrymen are still centuries behind in modernization, and that does not mean having a cell phone, but in behavior. Once you leave Pristina, you are in another century. I have seen it, I know. In any case, nice try at propaganda and putting Serbs down - you failed. Serbia has made giant strides in moving forward to becoming a modern European city, and will continue to do so. I wish I could say the same for USAlbania.

Buna ziua, ROMANIA don't want block SERBIA, that is just media manipulation!About the entry of Serbia in EU, that accession would normally be judged on the same terms of the eventual accession of Croatia in 2013-who needs the vote in 27 EU Parliaments as well as he favorable outcome in referendums in ALL 27 EU COUNTRIES!!!JIVELI from your's last sincere friend in this area, WHO NEVER WANTED YOUR EARTH !
ROMANIA is a model in EU for how WE treat minorities , Serbs including and we Romanians want just reciprocity, equal treatment to Romanian minority in Timoc as well in Vojvodina, for example.
We ROMANIANS have built and Holocaust Memorial in Bucharest!!!!!, for jews and gypsies!!!!WHERE IS DISCRIMINATION against jews and gypsies in ROMANIA????As well party of the Hungarian minority(5% official census 2011 from total population) named udmr it was and it's in various Romanian

Serbs are our neighbors...so please, if you want to be respected, you need to respect others, ESPECIALLY Romanian minority from Serbia with the SAME CHRISTIANITY ORTHODOX FAITH-example: demolition of the Romanian Orthodox Church in Malainita, Timoc etc, etc, etc. Perhaps the former 130 Romanian gendarmes from KFOR in Kosovo must not interfere, when some albanians destroy Christian Orthodox churches -UNESCO monuments from Kosovo and Metohia??? But they save the churches and the civil population regarding with muslim albanians hordes bloodthirsty Christian;we Romanians want just reciprocity, equal treatment to Romanian minority in Timoc as well in Vojvodina, for example. And ROMANIA when he became an EU candidate country in 1999 made a lot of sacrifices and compromises that meet standards integration, treatment of minorities(9,5% of total population)included...we entered in "the club" in 2007.
