Koso, Taiwan is recognized by more countries than Albanian Kosovo can only dream of
(winston, 23 February 2012 19:42)

Not pro-forma, but de-facto there are only few countries in the world which do not have ties to Taiwan. It is done via "trade centers" which are de-facto embassies and even issue visa to people who need it.

Now we should remember: a while ago Taiwan was a horrible black hole, a pirate nest and a crime center.
They got rid of that first and things improved beyond expectations.

If I look a the black economy all over East Europe I just can't get rid of a suspect... black economy needs to be gone. Example. Everyone knows, Hungarian average salary is less, than of Serbia, maybe is less than in Kosovo.

Despite of that if you see what is going on during the Christmas season (expensive cameras, TV-s, cars, the check-out line at Extreme Digital in Mamut Center was over an hour long) - than you get s suspect, all that money is black money and the official statistics are 100% meaningless. Same is in neighbor countries, that shold go away and people have to have a trusting relation with the law while the law has to be not lawless. Easy, Taiwan did just that ;)

Koso, Taiwan is recognized by more countries than Albanian Kosovo can only dream of, but guess what, they are not a UN member state, therefore they are really not an independent state. As long as someone disputes your existence, and you do sit amongst your members of independent nations at the UN, you are in dispute of being independent, capisce? If you do not care about UN recognition, fine. Enjoy your unilateral state. Because you would give all your newborn sons for serbian recognition, you will NEVER get it. Srecan 8 Maj.

I find it interesting how you and the other ultranationalists here look at things. You have always felt that Albanians should be hapy with less than you would require for yourself and Serbs. But during the time I was in Kosovo, I could not tell the difference between a Serb and Albanian.
Would Serbia have given an attempt to integrate Albanians into Serbia as equal citizens wiht the same rights and freedoms as Serbs the west would have supported keeping Kosovo as a part of Serbia. Unfortunately the reality is that there are too many winstons in Serbia for that to ever be a possibility.

The UN has answered that question. It has taken a status neutral approach so it will not give an answer to what the status of Kosovo is. It will not say it is a Republic, nor will it deny that it is a Republic.
The UN does not establish sovereignty, nor as a body does it establish recognition.
(pss, 23 February 2012 15:31)

Spot on! Joining the UN is a remarkable feat by any country but doing so does not constitute sovereignty. A lot of countries which are members of this institution are failed-states by their nature (i.e. Haiti, Somalia, Chad, etc). So don't take comfort into thinking that joining the UN translates into automatically being classified as a country.

A country is an entity ruled by a government which has a defined territory, border, has national symbols (flags, anthem, abbr.,etc), issues & enforces laws, police, and has an army.

Notice that under the definition both Kosovo and Serbia fulfill the definition of a country, but, sovereignty is a criteria fought by both Pristina and Belgrade. In regards to Kosovo, Pristina's sovereignty is increasing and Belgrade's is decreasing.

Sincerely,

EA, I do not care to go back and forth with a blind nationalist like you, because you only see through Albanian eyes - and your eyesight could use some correction. Enjoy my post, and BTW, I didn't use the words "Black Hole" regarding an Albanian Kosovo, some other Europeans did. I guess you'll have issue with then, too, looking at matters concerning KiM through your eyes.

You are saying that you some kind of evidence, like maps and stuf like that.. What about 2 milion Albanians that live in Kosova.. It is not enough evidence for you.. Also if you look in the old ancient time maps it Kosova is clearly part of Epirus called Dardania.. ;-)

winston,

The question is meaningless when you suggest to

"Go ask the UN what Kosovo is.." Your understanding of UN is Russia and China veto rights in the Security Council. Do you know what is happening is Syria? Do you give a damn? Of course not...

and coming back to you regarding "if Kosovo was truly independent...,"

PRACTICALLY Kosovo is independent at least from Serbia. You know I am right on that. As an example why Serbian polititian need a visa/permission to enter the territory of Kosovo. That was just a small example. Let's not talk about the need for borders even administrative crossing if you like between Kosovo and Serbia if Kosovo is not independent from Serbia.

Regarding your point about

"Pacolli...running around.... for recognition. What is Jeremic doing by the way. Of course he is not running because he can not run but he is doing the opposite of Pacolli whithout realising that he/SERBIA has lost practically (as earlier explained) Kosovo. Pacolli is doing his job as a Kosovo Albanian official to explain to other countries that have not yet recognised yet OFFICIALLY Kosovo independence of the importance of contributing to peace in the region but expediating the process of recognition. When it comes to your comments about bribes these doesn't deserve any comments because you are insulting other nations. Let Jeremic do the job for you. At least he is trying.....)

You know I am right without prejudice. PLEASE NO INSULTS otherwise you will be referred for healthcheck...))

I am preatty sure B92 would agree with me on that...)

Cheers!

EA,

You seem SO confident and knowledgeable about how Kosovo should be labelled, flags, regional representation.

I mean it seems soo clear cut for you. I wonder why the majority of the world doesn't agree with you? .. hmm...

I would hate to be so confident and sure of how Kosovo should be represented, under what name, displaying which flag etc but the rest of the world see it differently.

Can you give some explanation as to why you're so sure about Kosovo's representation? Where is your evidence? What historical data can you provide? Is there any past trend or maps we can look at?

I mean I know you are trying to change the education system in Kosovo and I know you've already tried to burn down hundreds of Orthodox churches and I know you're changing street names left right & centre, but you've just got to do better than that.

Surely you must be witnessing the tables turning on your little dream of the 'republic of kosovA'. It's unfortunate for you and your clans but I guess it's just the way it's got to be. I know that the KPS don't enforce teach this, but in all other parts of the world, if you steal the property of someone else then when you are caught you have to give it back.. there's some food for thought :)

"It is believed that tensions in Priština are the main reason for this. Kosovo Prime Minister Hashim Thaci’s government is under strong pressure from the opposition due to their alleged deference in the talks with Belgrade."

The above is true. To me is unacceptable that Kosovo allows itself to be represented as just Kosovo when Serbia as a republic and not just Serbia. I can not immagine asymetric representation as well. If other countries displays flags so should Kosovo. Footnotes stuff them but can live with all of them.
