It appears our Serb supporters on this forum want to join the EU after all. Just when I thought they wanted nothing to do with the EU, a chorus of Serb voices are chirping like baby birds waiting for mamma EU to feed them. It does not take long for hunger pangs to occur in Serbian tummies.

"the tip of the fat berg (sic)," - "the tip of that iceberg" ??
....

After Burns' visit, Thaci was talking indirectly about what Prishtina can expect in return for cooperation - a Stability and Association Agreement, for example. Thaci knows how to read the cards - he accepted the Rambouillet Accords when popular opinion would probably have rejected them and ended up with an independent Kosovo, even if one not yet recognized (de jure) by Serbia. Emotionally appealing tactics can prove costly. VV will play any result other than "Republic of Kosovo" as a defeat, but that just shows they're not ready to govern in an imperfect world. Making progress in diplomacy is like sailing - you usually don't have a wind that will take you in exactly the direction you want to go, so you trim your sails to take advantage of what winds there are. The world's trade used to be conducted using this technique.

"Priština will do what the EU tells it to..."

And I thought Pristina tells the EU what they have to do, like in the 'letters' to the EU countries where Thaci urged all EU members not to give Serbia the candidate status.

"...international representatives "could suggest to Priština to accept a compromise with Serbia, after which it could be given the status of candidate."

Where could be the so-called compromise when it comes the sovereignity and territorial integrity of Kosovo? What could be a compromise when it comes to territorian integrity and sovereignity of Serbia?

Serbia has frustrated EU long enough....it is time to tell Serbia openly, recognise independence of officially or forget about EU and Kosovo alltogether and good luck in your choices.

"Priština will do what the EU tells it to, and for the EU solving the problems between Belgrade and Priština is the tip of the fat berg (sic)," said Simić. I hope Simic was not referring to Edita, that would be unrespectful to say the least. In any case, of course Pristina will do what the EU says, as long as Europe pays Pristina's bills, they will call the shots. Thaci can huff and puff all he wants for his local audience, but he fools no one. He is a puppet, a puppet that was placed in power by the US State dept., to follow orders, and do as he is told, otherwise, real investigations could begin regarding some of the things he has been accused of. Thaci knows his limits. Meow.
