"Đukanović refused to move to Costa Rica"

The international community should make an offer to Milo Đukanović to leave the country so that "a change of government" to take place, says Nebojša Medojević.

There are a few examples Metrod, you can look yourself but I'll just give you one.

He accused Rambo Amadeus of 'moral prostitution' and told him he should 'kill himself' for performing for Djukanovic. Don't get me wrong in a way he is right, but then again a singer is a 'prostitute' for customers in a sense.

But thats besides the point. Does it look presidential to tell somebody to kill themselves? These kinds of statements we can support or be against, but in the end most people won't think of electing somebody who makes these kinds of statements as leader of a country.

I think an appropriate way of showing how much Djukanovic has done for the independence of Montenegro would be to rename the most beautiful capital in the world, Podgorica to Milovgrad.
If it wasn't for Milo Djukanovic Montenegro would still be almost a serbian province and not the Riviera of the Adriatic that it has become. Foreign investment has been very high since Milo was elected to power. Porto Montenegro is just the beginning. Many expects Montenegro to become the next MonteCarlo.
Its just fair to honor this man with renaming the capital after him. He should not go nowere else than to stay in his beloved Montenegro.
We love him, and he loves his country!

"This is why Medojevic is important. His party is non ethnic and represents the greatest threat to him and this is why Djukanovic allies have been bad mouthing Medojevic for some time, Medojevic has made a number of dodgy statements though where he appears as if he is losing it - that type of character doesn't look attractive to voters or the west, particularly when Djukanovic gives the appearance of being a master of calm and control.

Djukanovic is a relic and he does not have a role to play in Montenegro any more.
The reason he originally was supported by a narrow majority at home and by many abroad was that he ostensibly was against Milosevic.

Of course only years before he was a Milosevic ally but that didn't matter, the west wanted somebody in power who would undermine Sloba and possibly provide an alternative. There was never any question that Djukanovic would try to take on Milosevic directly for control of Jugoslavija so to speak, but perhaps thats what some in the west thought. Post Milosevic whilst Djukanovic and his family and their allies helped themselves to Montenegro's wealth, he was seen as a useful reformer who would counterbalance / mitigate Serbian influence over the region. He obeyed EU orders to stay in Jugoslavija but stated that the desire of Montenegrin opinion (which had nothing to do with him!!!) was independence, which he would not prevent. His role now was to be useful to the west in supporting the independence of Kosovo, this was fine as he never counted many of the pro Serb block among his supporters and has a fair portion of Montenegrin Albanian support. At the same time Djukanovic was quite willing to sell everything in Montenegro to the highest bidder - its hardly possible to walk onto a beach in Montenegro any more without being charged something. Rich Russians also got involved in business in Montenegro. Djukanovic was everybody's friend, whilst in fact the Montenegrin people were the last ones on his mind.

Today Djukanovic is struggling to find a role. Almost everything has been sold, he has nothing left to offer. The only thing he can do is to say that he is the only option that offers stability and that other parties in Montenegro are ethno nationalist in orientation and only his is a modern democratic party.

This is why Medojevic is important.

In recent years the question has not been whether Djukanovic's time has passed. Clearly it has, but the question is whether there is a politician who is capable of succeeding him. Until now the Montenegrin opposition has done a pretty poor job.

Mr. Medojević is not the law in Montenegro but a member of the opposition.
His word means nothing since Milo has the country under control.
I don't disagree with Mr. Medojevic but getting Milo out is a long shot.
Cedo has a better chance of ruling Serbia than getting Milo out.

The truth always prevails and the long arm of the law catches up with people like Mr. Djukanovic. It’s a proven fact. Biggest mistake crooks and dictators like Djukanovic make is wile they in power they think they’re invincible. Similar faith will fallow “Mr. snake.” The only difference “Mr. snake” will go strait to jail. If he’s lucky.
