Oh, it is a political Mafia all right. Imposed and runned from Washington. The same Otpor™ fist that now flies over Egypt and Syria are still hanging over our heads, bringing nothing but shame and humiliation to this once proud nation.

Winston I think you're slightly confused.. Todays current goverment is a mafia but not the ones before wren't although they had flaws.. They just happen to ressit an imposed hegemony from certain power centers, which is why they were demonized..

His statement is correct, but putting his party in office will not cleanse Serbia of its mafia controlled "everything". Serbia was always a mafia state since the end of WWII, be it Tito's mafia, Milosevic's mafia, or the current one. The players in politics seldom changes - they do change their party's agenda's, or collaborations, but it is the same corrupt players. Take a look at Dacic, how long has he been around? And what about Draskovic, or Mrkonjic, a Slobodan original, or Kostunica, or even the liberal Ceda, who has done quite well for himself in his battle for democracy in Serbia? Serbia needs new faces and new ideas, but unfortunately, I do not see any on the horizon. Maybe it is best that the EU will dictate our politics - and hopefully along the way, get rid of the old guard that is holding Serbia back, and just won't go away. I hate to say it, but I think only the mortician will remove some of these Serb relic politicians from power.

By ruling out the possibility of a coalition with any of the parties in the current government and most of the parties in opposition, Nikolic is ensuring that he will remain the most powerful opposition figure in the country.

He noted that a “political mafia” was running Serbia and that members of the mafia had become rich thanks to the “most devastating privatizations in Eastern Europe”.

He must mix up Serbia with Russia :)
