According to Russian media, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee Alexey Miller held a meeting on the South Stream on Wednesday which concluded that Gazprom is determined to meet the requests of Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin for the start of the South Stream construction in December 2012, rather than in 2013 as it was planned earlier.

Lenny the backers have abandoned the LNG terminal on the island of Krik because it’s too expensive and Croatia itself does not have the fiancés to build that terminal on its own as they have reached their capacity to borrow. However, since Serbs no control Croatia after the last elections, a branch line will go to Zagreb but not the main line. I find your posting the most amusing. You claim that the Russians would take advantage, but your western backers would never do the same.

What a drama about a business project (which was delayed again and again and might hopefully be realized soon). I'm sure Russian Gazprom has calculated the South Stream project well enough so it is profitable for them - that's the only what counts, and not friends or enemies.
