Honestly I have to thank all of the Serbian commentators here for prolonging my life with laughter and making this site ever-so enjoyable for me.

actually, if you want to fill your life with laughter, all you have to do is look in the mirror. It's a lot easier than depending on others to write something:-)

Scots are the last ones whom I would associate with the word parasite.
(szemi, 16 February 2012 21:42)
100%.

---

They are extremly talented ,hardworking and brave people.Just the opposite of albanians regarding qualities.
(szemi, 16 February 2012 21:42)

the bravery of Albanians is a mixed blessing to say the least and hotly contested. Now about the talents in math, science, sport - there is no dispute about what Albanians did "achieve".

---

They are little nation with big heart who have given the world more inventors, great scientists and acknowlaged mathematicians per capita than any other nation.
(szemi, 16 February 2012 21:42)

That would be contested by Hungarians, Jews (if you call them a nation - which it really never was!), Israelis (now, THAT is some sort of a nation, albeit pretty artificial), Poles, Germans, Russians... I agree that is a competition of giants, Albanians are not on the list. But I would elevate church-burining and organ-snatching into Olympic Sport and also let FIFA be an umbrella for bus-stoning, than Albanians will crush the competition and gold medal shower will rain on them.

---

Scots are also excelent trades- and businessmen.Scotch immigrants were the leading force behind industrial, cultural and economic developement of United States in early years(what a pity that another ethnicity has been misleading that once great country for a long time).
(szemi, 16 February 2012 21:42)

As said, what you mean is not ethnicity to begin with and if you take a "specimen #1" out of that "ethnicity" (say, Julia Gorin) - it could have nothing to do with a "specimen #2" (say, Albright). Besides, in Erdély Irish and Scottish settlers DID mix with that "ethnicity" - I can testify 100% ;)

In general nothing really binds your and mine beloved Tobacco Street economical-political mafia (or their even higher-power representatives in the States or Ephraim Zydrakowitz who cheated me of $200 and/or 500 Forint) with good part of Russian Academy of Science or large part of NASA. Or researcherers of most chips in the PC have nothing what binds them with political crooks of Tel Aviv or bearded idiots in black hats who dance like crazy during Purim (what the heck is that Purim?) and spit in the face of a woman if she decides do sit next to them in the train.

---

Scots are also heavily overrepresented among succesful british sportsmen.
(szemi, 16 February 2012 21:42)

Yeah, and don't forget footy. Is it more English or Scottish? We just don't know.

---

In general, as much as I would wish something does hit on the head the U.K. politicians who did pet that Kosova Project - in general I am consistently AGAINST the break-ups because the very first thing they do mean is a drastic increas of transport costs and freedom of travel in general. Than the negative effects of retail and in general consumers are much worse off.

U.S. is very different because there the public transportation (for isntace, Amtrak) is about as good and relevant as in Uganda; the taxes are relatively low, so the level of service (essentially you get what you pay for!). Americans are also largely using mail-order, even we do mail order across the Atlantic occasionally. Europeans have very different habits, I really do not like to see these habits being "americanized". So the retail pricing will be up, transportation costs up, probably taxes up... and Scottland represents a smaller market than U.K. so it won't be home of local technology HQ-s. It will be like Hungary: very little R&D representation, only sales offices. So I am not happy for such break-ups but of course I will have some Schadenfreude because of the U.K. role in Yugoslav conflict.

Oh really? What happened to his past posturing"They are free to go if they vote for it"? And what moral authority boy scout Cameron got over Scotland where his party failed to get a single MP?

The truth is that Scots are becoming increasingly sick and tired of people in England branding Scots as parasites sucking the blood from the UK economy. In fact Scotland, with 8.3% of UK population, currently remits 9.4% of UK taxes (not counting oil revenue, court fines, VAT for all companies who happen to have HQs in London, and much else besides).

So, rather than be in a position whereby they are viewed by their English 'cousins' (many of whom have little English background or heirtage themselves) as a poor 'dependent' neighbour, they will be voting for a free Scotland.

Honestly I have to thank all of the Serbian commentators here for prolonging my life with laughter and making this site ever-so enjoyable for me.
To even compare Scotland's venture for independence with the dismemberment of Yugoslavia is by far the most absurd and funniest thing I've seen so far. But I guess it's just typical of Serbian thought (or is it lack of it?) to ignore historical facts, twist and change things around to suit their own political agenda and then grotesquely glorify themselves as victims in every possible situation.
Same goes of course for comparing Kosova with Abkhazia (or is it Abkasia?) and South Ossetia. Completely baseless and utterly incomprehensible comparisons!!

Scotland enjoys a very amicable and harmonious relationship with England. Their relationship is as old as their names are. Their relationship is not only seeded in the monarchy but also in the army, philosophy, culture etc etc.
Yes they've both had a very bloody past but they've learnt from it and together as two major components of the British Empire they've managed to conquer AND rule 25% of the World. No other Empire to date has been able to do that ever!
Now what did the members of a self-invented, artificially-created, blood-soaked 'country' like Yugoslavia ever have in common, except for hating each other to the max and killing each other in most brutal ways.

Even if Scotland leaves the Union (which I strongly believe they won't) the likelihood of a war breaking out between England and Scotland is as strong as an Alien invasion of Earth at 3pm tomorrow.

Scots are the last ones whom I would associate with the word parasite.

100%.

Scots are also heavily overrepresented among succesful british sportsmen.
(szemi, 16 February 2012 21:42)

Yeah, and don't forget footy. Is it more English or Scottish? We just don't know.
