99.74% are getting a copy of the Kosova national anthem or they are getting one way tickets to some remote wilderness area that Putin(Serbian Daddy) offered them. Either way, 100% of Kosovar Albanians, the "real serbia", Europe and Nato and the USA dont care what happens to them realistically. This referendum will go the route of the roadblocks....nowhere fast and forgotten! Enjoy this victory Kosova!

"Do you accept the institutions of the so-called Republic of Kosovo"

Do these institutions exist ?! I thought these institutions existed only in the dreams of the Kosovo Albanians ? But now Serbs in Kosovo are telling us that these institutions are very much real - no wonder Belgrade was against the referendum :)

Try to hold referendum over the question "Do you accept Serbia's state institutions?" among KAlbs. What do you think the numbers will be?
(aaayyy, 16 February 2012 09:58)

Rest assure dear that Kosovo Albanians are not hallucinating so they will not hold a referendum about something (Serbia's state institutions) that do not exist in Kosovo.

They should post the names of the 69 people who voted no all across Serbia. Isn't it funny that "kosovo officials" claim that Serbs are fostering destabilzation and parallel structures! Isn't that what they did when they declared their piecemeal declaration? The hypocrisy startles me. I guess it wouldn't because the West and its puppets thrive of this cesspool of no integrity, lies, and corruption.
(Marko Sukovic, 17 February 2012 00:21)
You make this sound like a new idea! Was it the 2007 elections called by UNMIK that any Serb who voted then their name would be released and they would cease to receive salaries from Serbia. (Now Serbia says that UNMIK is the only legitimate authority in northern Kosovo) my how things change.

This only shows the Kosovo Serbs are awake (because their backs are up against a wall.) What are the Serbs in Serbia doing? Most of them seem to ignore the plight of Serbs in Kosovo, and they keep voting back in the puppet governments which have caused more and more unemployment and debt.

Here's the birthday card Hillary sent to Serbia:

U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton noted in her message that her country and Serbia "share a long history of friendly ties and cooperation based on mutual interest and respect".

"The U.S. will continue to support Serbia's progress and its European integration until this goal is achieved," said Clinton.

She congratulated the holiday to Serbia and "wished a prosperous future to its citizens".

Here's the birthday card Hillary sent to Kosovo:

Washington- On behalf of President Obama and American citizens, I am honored to convey best wishes for the citizens of Kosovo, who will celebrate the fourth anniversary of independence on February 17, U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton said.

“Kosovo is a new state, but it has a promising future. USA is committed to support independent, sovereign and multiethnic Kosovo” Hillary Clinton said in a press release.

Seems the USA is happy to be friends with both and doesn't view one as opposed to the other. The 1990s are long in the past for everyone except you guys. So unless she stuck a tank in the card that you can use to invade the north, I'm afraid you're going to just have to deal with well wishes. America has bigger priorities than Kosovo at this point. Otherwise they'd do a little more in the way of economic investment and/or diplomatic support.

Leonidas

The Kosovo Serbs are fighting for their lives on a daily basis. It's only themselves that can decide for their future and not the West or the Albanians. They also know that Kosovo has no economic viability and sooner rather than later it will be abandoned by both EU and Nato.My own feeling is that at some point Kosovo will seek to merge with Albania.

Don't you be suprised when the USA goes under, it's already falling apart from within and by the hands of your own people. You have a president that's trying to destroy your constitution and now slowly but surely people are beginning to wake up and see that you are not a democracy but a fascist police state. Your country wages wars costing billions upon billions while your own people starve and become homeless.

There are now millions of Americans who are living in storm draines, under bridges and in tent cities because of your damn government, one and a half million of those homeless are children, this is a fact!!

You talk of freedom and democracy yet your country wages war and supports non-democratic and dictatorship countries, you are an hypocrit man!

The USA will not be in a position to wage war at some point because you are already well on the way to becoming a bankrupt nation while other nations you have made your enemies are getting stronger. The biggest enemy you have is your own people, those poor folks who grow in numbers daily. Do you think we in the world do not know these things? You are fooling only yourself, things are different now than they were in the 90's. Get over yourself.

Really? Considering that it was the her husband that got NATO together to BOMB Serbia BACK INTO SERBIA and SUPPORT the KLA with weapons and an air force AND supported Kosova's independence declaration....I would not say that "her comments don't make the Kosovar's anymore important". The USA doesn't just talk the talk when it comes to supporting their greatest ally in the Balkans, but they walk the walk. If you don't admit that, then you're just being dishonest with yourself and the people that you lie to. USA is #1 buddy! You can only wish that Serbia was an ally of the USA. (USA United States of Albania, 16 February 2012 15:45)

It's not so new, but not much was reached in the last three years (buying recognitions doesn't count, I mean improvement for the citizens and the state, economy, things like that). And where's the 'multi-ethnic Kosovo'? What I can observe is a Kosovo full of Albanian extremists that harass the ethnic minorities. Several human right organizations protest in EU countries when authorities want to send back refugees (especially Roma) to Kosovo because they don't have the basic rights and living conditions there.

I don't think this referendum will be forgotten, and you really have to be delusional if you think the anniversary of Kosovo's so-called independence is going to drown out any media attention to this. What little international coverage was focused on the north's referendum will be twice the amount paid to the anniversary of a country's independence. In the case of Kosovo's independence, any coverage outside of New Kosova Report and ECIKS.org will be attached to an editorial noting the continued corruption and lack of sovereign control its leaders have. As far as I'm concerned, Kosovo's anniversary being pre-empted by this referendum makes celebrating a little more silly.

Oh and Hillary congratulated Serbia for its independence day a few days ago. These congratulatory statements are recycled boiler plate letters, so don't think Hillary's comments make you any more important. Since when is expressing your democratic right legal or illegal? Legitimate or illegitimate? The results are not surprising but the so-called great "democrats" are attempting to play it down by saying it has no consequence. I am glad the Serbians have finally made it clear where they stand instead of the constant rubbish coming from the Albanian and NATO side.

I also find it very interesting that the Cedo wannabes, like roberto and Danilo, don't make a single squeak when Albanians call for further genocide, by cleansing the remaining Serbs from the region. However, if a Serb might mention the same thing, they get into frenzy.

Not much more needs to be said except for the fact that our people are finally waking up. They are taking matters into their own hands and rejecting the sell-outs and the occupiers. The Albanians aren't smart enough to negotiate a lasting peaceful compromise while the nations that respect us are getting stronger by the day.

Shame on all of those Serb haters who come here on a daily basis to throw abuse and spit on us. We were willing to negotiate but your greed and ego got in the way. That will be your undoing while the North is the bone that gets stuck in your throat.

Nikolle,

The US bombed Serbia to help US allies KAlbs to take Kosovo from Serbia based on ethnicity.

BTW some days ago you said that it's impossible to defeat guerillas supported by population, even the US couldn't defeat Vietkong? But guerilla war is possible with help/support from abroad, so if KAlbs hadn't been supported from abroad they would have been defeated.

Steve, don´t fall for rather stupid provocations by some rather less talented Albanians in here!

the socalled KLA, actually rather a band of chickenthieves than an army, had no chance against the yugoslav military, although they were well equipped by foreign helpers.

and even the Croat army that was heavily armed due to the help of several external parties, could not achieve any greater success until NATO let their mask fall and openly sided with the Croats.

so, that is no secret, except for those who are either inadequately informed or simply stupid.

but I would agree with you on one point: sooner or later, NATO will leave, and then my friend, these little "rambo´s" will be shown what real organisation means.

and I firmly believe that the NATO-occupiers won´t stay as long as the Ottomans did.

There's a lot of waffle on here about how the croats saw off the Serbs....what the big mouths failed to mention is that the US airforce was involved in the bombing of the Serbs and was in fact acting as the croat airforce during that campaign of enthnic cleansing when there was supposed to be a no fly zone.

Before the Americans became involved the croats were on the losing side as were the so called Bosniaks, then NATO joined in. Also the Albanians in KOSOVO were running as I recall before the Americans and NATO became involved.

There is a day coming when the Americans will not be there nor will they be in a position to do anything then we shall see who runs away from who.

For the record, the majority of Serbian people don't give a damn about the bloody EU nor about the gangster Thaci in Pristina, you can all go to hell. It took 22 countries to stop Serbia, not Albanians or Croatians or the Bosniaks. Some of you seem to have left those facts out of the equation. When the Americans and NATO are not there you will have nobody to hide behind we'll see how tough you are supposed to be then. You couldn't do it without Adolf nor will you be able to when your NATO pals have gone.

Among the sequences of this referendum I would stress at unmasking the internal enemies of the nation. The external ones are well known and almost all of them are located in Europe while the outside world still supports the Serbs. But revealing the truth and demonstrating how far the ruling Serbian elites are from their own people is a really great deal ! Congratulations cause it’s a big step towards national consolidation and replaying the game !

Legal or illegal, it doesn't mean anything here. The point is that people have spoken. Anyone who wants to play this down is not a democrat. No matter does this referendum and its result actually lead somewhere, the thinking of the people living in North Kosovo has been expressed. No-one can hide from it now.

Now we will see what we do with so-called democratic principles. I've heard politicians saying: "Order counts more than truth". We are dealing with a matter so familiar throughout the history: justified demands rock the boat.

All states have reserved themselves the lawful monopoly of violence. To have legality this monopoly must receive moral support from citizenry. How about here?

From French news:

Kosovan analysts said the referendum demonstrated that Kosovo prime minister Hashim Thaci's government does not control the whole of its territory.

"This referendum reconfirms for the umpteenth time that Kosovo cannot establish control over all its territory," commentator Adrian Collaku told the independent Zeri daily, calling it "another step towards secession" for northern Kosovo.

So any arguements regarding presevo are irrelevant. The Albanians are fanning the flames of conflict.. BTW I read today that Albanians of Kosovo are %97 as are Albanians of north western Macedonia and the Slavic Muslim slavs of Sandzak.. What do they all have in common? This area was a part of the Ottoman vilayet of Kosovo.. In the 18 century the Turkish population was in decline, hence encouraged Muslims from Albania to settle.. You see everyone comes fro

And that's the reason why it was held: because people like you represent the out of touch mindset of a leadership that's done a fantastically piss poor job at reaching out to them in manners other than violence and irrational ultimatums. This number is pretty indicative of the sentiment felt by the people there and should pretty much dispel any idea that Serbs in the north are somehow held hostage by some "criminal elite" who are keeping them from being part of "Kosova's" institutions. This is the best damn display of democratic people power in Kosovo in a long long time. Not their fault Albanian extremism led them to this referendum :)

It's only natural that these people prefer to remain in Serbia, their country of Birth.. Still don't understand why Albanians are he'll bent on dominating the north, I guess it's part of the ploy to legitimize the rep of Kosovo, logically as Kosovos borders aren't recognized internationally hence up for grabs.. For the Albanians there is nothing in the north but trouble, close the border on the Ibar and get over it, at the end of the day there are still 60 000 Serbs south of the Ibar.
Somewhere, why else is Albania %30 Christian? No logic.. Albanians should let go of the north for peace sakes.. They have argument..

You Albanians have had difficulty cleansing serbs out of regions where serbs formed an absolute majority. You guys cleansed the multiethnic villages and places in kosovo and metohija. So there you have it... serbs shall remain, in Ralinug, in Strpce, in Gracanica, in North Kosovo, and no matter how much you want it, you will never ever have authority in Leposavic or the other serbian villages in northern kosovo. You are in great desperation now, as you see that your so called independence is a failure as it has not alleviated the extreme poverty. Just like Albanians proclaimed their UDI, the Serbs have the right to do the same.

And where's the 'multi-ethnic Kosovo'? What I can observe is a Kosovo full of Albanian extremists that harass the ethnic minorities.

They should post the names of the 69 people who voted no all across Serbia. Isn't it funny that "kosovo officials" claim that Serbs are fostering destabilzation and parallel structures! Isn't that what they did when they declared their piecemeal declaration? The hypocrisy startles me. the socalled KLA, actually rather a band of chickenthieves than an army, had no chance against the yugoslav military, although they were well equipped by foreign helpers.

and even the Croat army that was heavily armed due to the help of several external parties, could not achieve any greater success until NATO let their mask fall and openly sided with the Croats.

so, that is no secret, except for those who are either inadequately informed or simply stupid.

but I would agree with you on one point: sooner or later, NATO will leave, and then my friend, these little "rambo´s" will be shown what real organisation means.

In case you don't know: Usually, only adults are allowed to vote, so the number of voters never equals the population.

And where's the 'multi-ethnic Kosovo'? What I can observe is a Kosovo full of Albanian extremists that harass the ethnic minorities. Albanians sought not to live in Serbia and ran parallel structures for years , now the Serbs are doing the same thing and you have the gall to demand the territorial integrity of "Kosova" and illegal parallel institutions? I mean....puh-lease.

The citizens of Serbia have given a clear message to EUrope, NATO and Pristina that they choose Serbia, no one will take their citizenship from them.

Bledo, many Serbs are still in Croatia.

I just advise to not vent your frustration with this quazi state by spreading hatred and advocating crime.

Try to hold referendum over the question "Do you accept Serbia's state institutions?" among KAlbs. What do you think the numbers will be?

Rest assure dear that Kosovo Albanians are not hallucinating so they will not hold a referendum about something (Serbia's state institutions) that do not exist in Kosovo.

"Not much more needs to be said except for the fact that our people are finally waking up. They are taking matters into their own hands and rejecting the sell-outs and the occupiers."

This only shows the Kosovo Serbs are awake (because their backs are up against a wall.) What are the Serbs in Serbia doing? Most of them seem to ignore the plight of Serbs in Kosovo, and they keep voting back in the puppet governments which have caused more and more unemployment and debt.

Greatest ally? You cannot mean this unimportant and tiny fly spot on the map of Europe called Kosovo!

If things had gone like you said their would have been much smoother separations in former YU and no wars or much more limited violence/wars.

You make this sound like a new idea! Was it the 2007 elections called by UNMIK that any Serb who voted then their name would be released and they would cease to receive salaries from Serbia. (Now Serbia says that UNMIK is the only legitimate authority in northern Kosovo) my how things change.
