As much as you would like to believe it it's not true. Serbia and Serbs are synonymous with the Wars of the Balkans and the terror that went on in the 90s.
There are certain individuals who've achieved great success in certain areas but Serbs as a whole are far from receiving worldwide success.
This notion is flat out wrong.
But, some Serbs believe in some funny things.
The very fact that he mentions that reveals a certain level of paranoia and insecurity as far as Serbia's position in the world is concerned.
I've lived in the West for most of my adult life and every time I met a Serb they've always pretended to be Croatian or Slovenian. To me that pretty much sums it all up.
Yes, this is true. Serbian people enjoys "worldwide" respect, but not Jeremic, not Tadic and other Politician in Serbia. Is time to change the Narrative.

Serbia and Serbs are extremely respected in the whole world as a good and honest people. But also stubborn with a high degree of proudness. (Which does not have to be bad always.)
Serbs are very good in sports, are the far most important country in the Balkans according to the west, have done several importatnt world inventions, have a rich and old history, especially in their southern province etc etc.
Serbia also has in recent years developed one of the worlds best trained and equipped soldiers and special police.
According to western intelligence, Serbia has always had one of the best intelligence services in the world next to Mossad.
And of course, Serbia has a foreign minister that has never stopped to protect their country, that most leaders, from east to west, envy because of his stamina, education, talent and a esprit that never gives up.
Serbia should stay focused to keep Kosovo. When it comes to Kosovo, most of the world have forgot this and moved on. According to UN and most world powers, Kosovo is nothing but a Serbian province and as long as Russia, China, India and the other 55-60% of the world thinks so, it will stay so. No matter what some think, believe or want. Let the K Albanians keep on dreaming. One can not steal a bit of a soverign country.

I'm glad he is proud to prevent the representation of what I can only assume says in the Serbian constitution as Serbian citizens; maybe this constitution states that Kosovo territory is part of Serbia and all its Serb nationals, non-Serbs are not citizens.
If you grew up under this mentality as a second rate citizen, your kids, grand kids, and so on you can only assume why then-Albanian minority became these separatists you speak of. There is much abuse this marriage could sustain before we had to divorce you.
