How many more dirt poor island nations are the Albanians going to pay to recognize their stillbirth state? It's good in way, because a country can certainly use the cash, even if it's drug money.
(winston, 11 February 2012 14:18)

Trying to feel good about yourself again in response to this "bad news"?

---------------------
Haiti is currently #5 on the list failed states [link] (right after Somalia, Chad, Sudan and Congo) and they successfully 'improved' their position from #11 in 2010 to #5 in 2011.r
(Comm. Parrisson, 11 February 2012 15:14)

Are you trying to imply that Haiti deserved and are responsible for the recent earthquake which they recently suffered?

--------------
You must mean Pacolli has more money to spend - Kosovo depends on donor money, and I can only hope that the international donors check for the usage of their money, so it isn't wasted for buying recognitions instead for improving the lives of the ordinary citizens.
(Comm. Parrisson, 11 February 2012 15:42)

Nauru cost Russia $50 million to recognise Abkhazia and South Ossetia. Belarus turned down $500 Million to recognise them. Pacolli has £4 Billion. Surely he could only afford to "buy" 5-6 recognitions at the most. How do you explain all the other recognitions? He mustn't have any money left. Or maybe he is lobbying for recognitions aka doing his job. Hence why he still has all of his money. Duhhhh!

-------------

Cheap Cheap Cheaters, no way it has reached 87 real recognitions, would be surprised if it has reached 70.
(In Credulous, 11 February 2012 18:35)

No the number is 87. All the recognitions Jeremic has denied have been reconfirmed and proven wrong. Jeremic is the 'Cheap Cheap Cheater'.

This is Jeremic's new tactic to pretend the recognitions haven't happened. All because he hasn't been able to to 'stop' the recognitions. But come the Serbian election in April, Jeremic will be out of a job. His BS will come to an end.

P.S. he has no chance of becoming UNGA President.

pre 12 godina

Can anybody explain what Jeremic was thinking of when he claimed during the UNSC session last Wednesday that Kosovo really only has 81 recognitions? Does he have his own private criteria for what counts as 1) a country or 2) formal recognition of another country's independence?
(Amer, 12 February 2012 02:36)
I missed that part, but if true Serbia needs to pack up and go home. If it has come to bickering over the difference of whether it is officially 86 or 81 recognitions then the ballgame is over and the fans are just waiting on the clock to run out.
Afterall read the comments, the Serbs here have listed all the reasons why each of the last many recognitions suddenly became insignificant once they fell on the Kosovo side.
So either the recognitions are significant or they are not, if they are not why would the FM of Serbia who plans to be the next UNGA president be concerned about 5 of them?
Of course as we are seeing with increasing frequency now there are only 5 countries in the world (that matter) according to the UN. Each have the ability of overiding the votes of the entire rest of the world. I have a feeling you may be seeing the decline of the importance of the UN soon.

We need 9 more for 50% of UN. But in total we need 103, except for Russia and Serbia. Looks like they are to many. But on the other hand we have a lot of drug money, and if that is not enough we do have some Serbian in Kosova for kidney extract, they still pay good for those.
