'Does it stand in the serbisn constitution that street's cannot be namned after somebody else but serbs'.

Demi we have Skenderbegova ulica in Belgrade, there are also other streets named after Albanians for example we also have Palata Albanija in the very heart of Belgrade.

Can Serbs have some street names for their historic warriors, kings, scientists, artists, etc., in Pristina, Demi? How about Draza Mihajlovic Blvd. in downtown Pristina near that Clinton statue. It's only fair, if Kosovo is truly multi-ethnic.

Sure. Everywhere Serbs councilor is in majority in Kosova they can vote for Serb street names. Normally they have to respect the other communities’ sensitivity. For example they cannot name Milosevic street. Are we ok with this?

If it would be only those people. But as we could read, a not so historic Albanian police killer was chosen for naming a street after. So, comparing to that, what about a Mladic (or Milosevic) bulevard in Mitrovica?

FYI, Draza Mihajlovic might be a hero to you but he was a Nazi collaborator. Did you not know that or does it not matter?
(metrod, 10 February 2012 15:53)

You believe that? Is that why Hitler had put a bounty on his head? He was Hitler's biggest headache in Eastern Europe. I bet some of your family members were chasing him to help Hitler out, since Albanians were collaborating with the NAZIs. Or does that not matter?

"The decision by the ethnic Albanian majority reads that the streets wearing the names of Serbs renowned in the areas if history, science and culture should be replaced by names of Albanian writers and fighters for the Albanian awakening, including terrorist Fatmir Ibisi, who in 2000 killed Serbian police officer Slaviša Dimitrijević."

If they want to live on Albanian streets they can go live in Albania. Problem solved.

Draza fought against the Partizans, metrod, he collaborated with the Americans, and the Chetniks were responsible for saving over 500 downed US pilots, did you know that, or does it matter to you? I do know that Albanians Skenerbegs collaborated with the Nazis - again trying to drive Serbs from KiM.

@Demi,

No objection to some streets having Albanian names. The only problem is, there are very few Albanians worth having streets named after. Renaming roads after cut-throats and terrorists is not most citizens idea of being reasonable. But of course you knew that already didn't you. And if you didn't, I feel sorry for you. Albanian provocation yet again. Tried and tested tactics. What's Belgrade's opinion on all this I wonder?

PEN and Winston the town leades voted and accepted the propsal wich would name some street's after albanian historic figures.

The majority voted for it so why all this noiz about it ?? Does it stand in the serbisn constitution that street's cannot be namned after somebody else but serbs ??

Dosen't the albanian minoritys have rights in Serbia beside breathing ???

In Kosova the serbs have right to have streets namned after serbs where they form majority. In Kosova serbs have rights because Kosova is multi ethnic

If the people were to vote for any name changes then it should be respected be it in Prishtina, Bujanovc or Belgrade.

If it's an multiethnic community then I guess the albanians wich formes the majority of the community should have somthing to say about the community.

If the people of the community wants to change roadsigns then they should do it if they vote for it. It's democratic.

Why roads cannot have albanian names ?? Then it's not multi ethnic at all.
