And then the UNSC turned around and enacted 1244 which forced the withdrawal of all Serbian forces and police from Kosovo, removed any political control over Kosovo, and stripped Serbia of all economic control of Kosovo, and then placed NATO in charge of security for all of Kosovo.
Sounds like an after the fact approval of the operation to me. The vote was 14 for and 1 abstain. Russia or China either one could have vetoed if they wanted, but that never happened.

The pressure is the same as it was three months ago. Maybe the pressure is building up in Belgrade while the deadline is approaching?

I suggest that Serbia apply for full membership in the Non-Aligned movement. Although the list of Serbia's friends on that list is shrinking (Egypt, Lybia, Yemen, Tunisia, and other dictatorships that fell or are about to fall), at least its ego won't be insulted there...

I should be thankful that I know many Serbs (actually my son's piano teacher is from Belgrade) and I know that not all of them are the stereotyping kind.

The unleashing of the racially charged slurs on this forum, especially coming from people who claim that are educated, clean, and live in a democratic country like Canada is appalling. Perhaps some classes of civic education would be in order...

Regardless, what is even more appalling is the fact that messages full of hate are being approved by the moderators. But in the other hand I am glad that they approved these messages, as it allows the impartial reader to see the true face of some posters here.

I am against the violation of human rights everywhere. However, sometimes action is needed to stop further atrocities from taking place. The NATO bombing of Serbia was needed in order to stop Milosevic from destroying the people of Kosovo. The NATO air campaign was by all accounts a success and cost fewer lives than a ground invasion of Serbia would have cost.

As for your other statements like Serbia being the victim of their neighbors and so forth, this is pure fantasy and like a I said before a disgrace for you to say.

I don't believe serbia will make candidate status in March. The ego coming out of belgrade is as if EU is trying to join Serbia, and not the other way around.

It's time to let these clowns from the partially recognized territory of Serbia aware that they aren't a super power. How is that dinar (serb rsd) to euro doing these days? 100? 102? 105?

This ad libitum and ad nauseam disregard for UN SC decisions is amazing and shows a degree of arrogance that could ultimately well lead towards a larger scale international conflict.

Even though it was NEVER voted on in the UNSC or accepted, (remember the only proof you had was someone's blog) just what is it in the 6 point plan that is not being implemented at the present. The northern crossings are covered by international agents, other than Serbs allowing for immediate control over the Mitrovica courthouse, everything else was "discussions will take place" that is what the dialogue is suppose to be doing. So even without UNSC mandate everything is being covered except for those areas being held back by Serbia.

I also believe, B92 moderators should do their job much better because the quality of this place detorriates significantly. I am against the violation of human rights everywhere. However, sometimes action is needed to stop further atrocities from taking place. The NATO bombing of Serbia was needed in order to stop Milosevic from destroying the people of Kosovo. The NATO air campaign was by all accounts a success and cost fewer lives than a ground invasion of Serbia would have cost.

As for your other statements like Serbia being the victim of their neighbors and so forth, this is pure fantasy and like a I said before a disgrace for you to say.

Even though it was NEVER voted on in the UNSC or accepted, (remember the only proof you had was someone's blog) just what is it in the 6 point plan that is not being implemented at the present. The northern crossings are covered by international agents, other than Serbs allowing for immediate control over the Mitrovica courthouse, everything else was "discussions will take place" that is what the dialogue is suppose to be doing. So even without UNSC mandate everything is being covered except for those areas being held back by Serbia.

And then the UNSC turned around and enacted 1244 which forced the withdrawal of all Serbian forces and police from Kosovo, removed any political control over Kosovo, and stripped Serbia of all economic control of Kosovo, and then placed NATO in charge of security for all of Kosovo.
Sounds like an after the fact approval of the operation to me. The vote was 14 for and 1 abstain. Russia or China either one could have vetoed if they wanted, but that never happened.

I should be thankful that I know many Serbs (actually my son's piano teacher is from Belgrade) and I know that not all of them are the stereotyping kind.

The unleashing of the racially charged slurs on this forum, especially coming from people who claim that are educated, clean, and live in a democratic country like Canada is appalling. Perhaps some classes of civic education would be in order...
