But notice he says that emphasis is put on reaching an agreement on regional representation inorder for Serbia to get candidate status. I can translate what the Pristina position means, they are afraid you are tampering with their status.
The emphasis should be on separation, to finally end the Serbian-Albanian disputes. And I understand it's not easy, bc you have a constitution you have to work with, you need a public and political consensus, criminals are threatening (for example for Tadic's life).
But yes, they are right, the Serbs have put a lot of effort. It is much more difficult for them.

I think our whole imeelvonvnt in Bosnia, Kosovo, etc. probably set a bad precedent. In light of recent history I'm not sure we were on the right side, if there was one. Worst of all, our govertnment seems hellbent on setting bad precedents like the one you mentioned. It will be difficult to stand up on our moral soapbox to protest Mexican irredentism when we helped rip a chunk of territory away from a sovereign nation on such a flimsy rationale. Bah.
